The Big Green Egg has a large opening that fits perfectly in the griddle. There is a lot of care taken to cast and finish this Those cast iron skillets and dutch ovens, which I paid more for, did not have as nice a finish. The 1"-function creates a new string There was a large gap all the way around the coal bed to allow the hot air to circulate so that no direct fire was needed. In an hour. The barbecued brisket. There was plenty of smoke to drip past the drip pan and it was easy to clean up. I have never had an easier time dialing in and keeping a slow pace than I do now For such an extended cooking time, it's not a great temperature. As you can see, it is hefty, more than adequate in some ways This option is more forgiving than the stone/ceramic version, but you can still abuse it and not risk chipping, a broken leg, or a complete.
It is very nice to have cast iron plate setters like this. Worked like a charm and is heavy duty. You're free to break it any time you want. Besides cooking directly on it, you can also bake on it. Adaptable to a wide range of situations, unlike stone. Ideal for slow cooking in an indirect manner. I highly recommend this product!.

In the process of cleaning the green egg, I broke my ceramic plate setter. It would be neat to have the cast iron version available. I like it very much.
As a result, it does not deflect heat like ceramic does.
That works well for me. So far I've tried pizza and hamburgers, and the fast uron place setting has proven to be very effective.
It has been five years since I fractured my ceramic plate setter in half. There is no better plate setter than this cast iron one Heavy duty and well made, it will not snap in two. The investment has certainly been worthwhile.
