The 'ferritic' structure of basic stainless steel makes it magnetic. 'Austenitic' stainless steels, on the other hand, are the most common. There is more chromium in these, as well as nickel. Nickel alters the steel's physical structure and renders it non-corrosive. magnetic

This product's description mentions that it's 17 ga. I was expecting the product to meet the 17 ga stainless steel plate standard in the United States. Out of the box, I measured every product component. It's going to be 1 for 17 ga. The thickness is 43 mm. While I did get a few readings at 1, I don't think they were accurate. The most common readings were 1, 2, 3, and 4. 3 or 1. The material is 18 ga and is slightly thinner than advertised, as indicated by the 2 mm. I'm hoping for a good performance, and if it isn't in a few months, I'll let you know. (as of today, 1 August 2020).

My Weber Genesis Silver B has just turned 15 years old. I thought these would be perfect for it as a present. Despite the fact that Amazon lists me as a "top contributor" on BBQ items, that doesn't tell the whole story. Barbecuing and BBQ are two of my favorite things to do. I cook on my grill at least once a week, if not more. Barbecue is simply more delicious. Period. br>br>Now, after 15 years of service, my main concern (aside from keeping it clean, which I failed to do, as you can see) is the replacement of grates or flavor bars. It's once again that time. br>br>I'd never heard of this brand before, but the glowing reviews convinced me to give it a try. I usually buy Weber OEM replacements, but I'm going to give these a try. They're quite gleaming and stand out in my old, unkempt grill, but given how frequently I use it, they won't last long. Obviously, only time will tell if they perform as well as the Weber replacements, but I can say that the fit and size are perfect for my Silver B, and I'll be putting them through their paces before the end of the year.
NOT 100% stainless steel as their advertisement suggests. You are given stainless steel of the lowest grade. I'd only had mine for a month when they started to rust on the outside.
This is the genuine article. In fact, they're more durable than the Weber-recommended alternatives. They're made of thick gauge metal that enhances the flavor of whatever you're grilling. I use my grill four or five times per week, and after two months, the gleaming metal is a welcome sight when I open it. Get your hands on these stainless steel bars - They ought to last quite a while.
It's made of regular steel with a Stainless Steel Coating applied to it. Don't be taken in by the deceptive advertising.
On one side of my old Weber Genesis Silver C grill, it was getting extremely hot, but not on the other. To finish a meal, I would sear it on the super hot side, then finish it on the cooler side, because the flavorizer bars were rusting badly. My burner tubes were rusted out as well, which I discovered beneath them. I believe it was only old grease that kept them together. I considered purchasing new, but a grill with a side burner cost around a grand. I actually cook fried chicken outside on my side burner a lot to avoid odors and oil spillage in the house. Genuine Weber parts were also an option, but they were significantly more expensive. I was relieved to discover that these bars were precisely the right size. The box did not include any instructions. However, all you have to do now is replace the ones you have. Keep in mind that the bars do not sit in the grooves on the grill housing; rather, they sit in the space between them. In conclusion, this was the cheapest option and I believe it will last another few years.
They are a thicker gauge than others and fit perfectly. It is stated that they are made of 400 series stainless steel, which is superior to 300 series stainless steel materials when subjected to high heats; therefore, they should last longer than the porcelain coated carbon steel ones made of 300 series stainless steel.
