Because the legs are detachable, you can do so, but you'll need something underneath to catch any spills from the top of the burners while cooking, such as aluminum foil. However, I would not recommend doing so because the burners can get very hot, posing a safety risk, and the design was intended to be used outdoors with the four legs provided.
If I can't say no, I'd say it's a good purchase.

Update: My second burner line had developed a fault and had caught fire.
This burner was incredibly simple to set up and use right out of the box. Each leg slides into the corner and is secured by screws on each leg. I had a little trouble tightening one of the legs because the screw was a little difficult to turn, so I had to use a second clamp for leverage. It took me about 10 minutes to set up in total, which isn't bad. br>br>The legs are reasonably sturdy, but they could be a little thicker or come down at a slight outward angle to sit more comfortably, but they still get the job done. Because my ground was uneven, I had to add an extra piece of wood under one leg, but it held up well. br>br>I've been cooking with this burner for about three days, and it's fantastic. They can be set to a very high output if necessary, which is useful if you want to make quick stir fry dishes. br>br>Overall, a great set of burners for the price; the only things missing are a burner cover and possibly a wind deflector.
It was very simple to put together; all you had to do was connect the legs and tighten the screws to keep them in place. Because I am used to cooking with electricity, it takes some time to adjust to the burner elements, but they heat up quickly once the gas is turned on. Because it's difficult to see the flame, don't raise it too high. It's a great way to spice up family gatherings.

I just unpacked my package, and it appears that this was a returned item that was repackaged and resent to me. There appears to be some food on it, and it has been used before.
It's extremely durable and simple to operate.
After reading the instructions and adjusting the oxygen flow, it worked like a charm. These get extremely hot very quickly, and your propane will most likely be consumed. The area is nice and big, and the stand appears to be sturdy; this is a great buy.
