A pair of these 1 inch (25mm) wide spa cover straps or hot tub straps can withstand over 100 mph winds or gusts when properly installed and maintained. We've created a mockup of 1. 5 inch (35mm) and 2 inch (50mm) wide straps are available, but the weak link is often the thickness or material of the spa or tub enclosure's sides, so bigger isn't always better.
Hello,br>br>We responded twice, once to apologize and again to send the tracking number for the missing screws as well as a couple of replacement buckles for future use. A stainless steel wood screw, 4 x 1 inch, is included. They are, however, on their way to you. Thank you very much! br>br>
We sell 1 inch stainless wood screws and have sold 7,000 units in the last three years, so this hasn't been a problem for us. However, this is an excellent question; we recommend checking the side thickness, but with the insulation, this should not be an issue.

I was ecstatic to be able to purchase it and install it outside. The straps do not extend far enough down over the cover to even touch the sides, making it impossible to attach them. Nope, not going to fit even if I stretched it out as far as I could. I have a Hot Tub that can accommodate up to six people. So the stupid lawn chair is back on top, and I'm on the lookout for a more permanent solution once more. UGH. I'm currently completing my return.
I yelled at my husband for putting them on too tight when I first walked outside and saw the strap ripped. When I checked the other strap that wasn't torn, I discovered that he had left plenty of room. When I went to check on the torn strap, it began to fall apart just by touching it, as if the sun had weakened it. The straps are only a month old, so this is a disappointment. Not only that, but hot tubs are frequently exposed to sunlight; shouldn't the straps be able to withstand this? Sheesh, at the very least for a year. Do not purchase these low-cost straps; instead, invest a little more in your time.
My tub was equipped with hurricane straps, and I recently purchased a replacement cover. Because the hurricane straps had faded, I decided to replace them as well. The old cover had indents where the old straps had become constricted as a result of the sun. I assumed it was just part of the job. When I first began my research, I discovered Ratchet Strap advertised that their straps did not constrict, despite the fact that my hot tub (a Jacuzzi) has two different thicknesses. When I contacted this company, they offered to make me two different sizes. I've got them up and running, and I'm pleased to report that they haven't shrunk in the least. There will be no more damage to my cover! This is a fantastic product that I would strongly recommend.
Plastic cabinets are now standard on most hot tubs. This item comes with TINY screws that I doubt would keep the strap fasteners in place in a strong wind. I had to add my own larger screws, which required some filing to ensure that the fasteners functioned properly. br>br>You buy wind straps for strong winds, and they give you tiny screws that barely hold the plastic cabinet together; The screws, on the other hand, would not be long enough to hold in wood. br>br>The nylon straps are thick and sturdy.
These straps were very effective when first put on. Because my hot tub isn't very large, I only had to use one. The strap held up well in the 35 to 60 mph winds we had. However, I noticed the hot tub cover was partially open one day when there was a light breeze. The strap had deteriorated in the sun, and there was a black compound on my hands. It was ripped in a few places. So I tossed that one and put the one I hadn't used yet in its place. I bought these around the middle of the year and had the same effect a few months later. They both lasted about 4 or 5 months, starting in December 2018.
There is no protection from the sun. They worked fine for a few months before disintegrating. There is no UV resistance, so if your spa is in the sun, you should look for something else.
If you prefer a dual strap setup to a single HD strap, this is the one for you. They're all dressed up, as they should be.
The straps are too short to pass through the cover. I have a six-person hot tub in my backyard. The snaps did not come with any screws. I had no choice but to re-use the old ones, only to discover that the straps were no longer functional. And they're not 2" wide; they're 1". The last hurricane straps I had were about 4" wide, so they're a lot more durable.
