The permeability of the system The best way to help nonwoven polypropylene (PP) fabric flow
5/5

I ordered a roll of polypropylene (PP) nonwoven fabric from Flarmor that measures 6' x 250'. This paper is 100 gsm/3 oz thick. According to the label, it lets water, air, and the sun in It's all about nutrients. My first concern with the fabric (made of the plastic polypropylene "PP") was that it appeared thicker than the usual PP I have ordered in the past, so I was afraid the water won't flow through it efficiently. It has happened in the past that I have seen water collecting on PP in the garden, only for it to eventually drain off. Since this particular PP is significantly thicker than usual, I wanted to know exactly which side to place facing up. It is widely believed that these plastics should have the shiny sides facing up, but some people believe it makes no difference. Taking a closer look at this fabric, it appears that the less shiny side (both sides are somewhat shiny) has tiny indentations. Previously, I used to face this side up, hoping to hold some of the water in the holes and keep it from running off as quickly as it did in the past. However, I wanted to test the fabric due to its thickness so, I cut two pieces, placed each over an empty glass (one with a shiny side up, the other with a hole up), and poured a small amount of water on each. There was no water getting through after 10 minutes, not a single Both of them were soaked in water for half an hour, pulled out, and then retried. Despite the beading, the water remained clear There is no penetration in any way. The fabric could not be penetrated even with a lot of poking and prodding. As I grew concerned, I began to believe something was After watching a video by Flarmor, I learned how to lay down the fabric. As mentioned in the video, the ground/dirt should be swept and the fabric should be laid on the ground so that it stands out well. Then, in my test kitchen, I used another paper towel, put the fabric onto it, added a couple of tablespoons of water and watched the water bead up It occurred to me that gently pressing the fabric on top of the paper towel might work this time. As a result, I gently tapped on the fabric with my two fingers to remove the water practically immediately. I was able to get rid of it in a few seconds. A paper towel had soaked into the fabric when I pulled it aside. You really need the subsurface to be effective, so this seems to be the key This will probably be dirt in the garden, in order to make decent contact with it The best method to find out a fabric's water resistance is to test it in midair. It agrees with what was said by another reviewer a few years ago -- In spite of the fact that it seemed impermeable, the PP material seemed to be actually able to break in once it did so. Clearly, there is a difference between the contact underneath and the contact above. My experience using this fabric has been good, and I will let you know if I have any problems. Despite what I've been told, I only did the test with the hole facing upwards, and that's how I will lay it out. Good to know that I didn't return this item to Flarmor, it seems to be very high quality, and it should easily outlast my other items I have I am being upfront about this No connection to Flarmor and I had never heard of them until a few weeks ago when I went looking for a new cover. There is a possibility Flarmor and other companies selling plastics might want to emphasize this permeability issue on their packaging and websites.

It is a wonderful cloth for landscapes
5/5

At the height of the pandemic, I neglected to buy my landscape cloth last spring. However, there was no black plastic available, so I had to resort to black plastic instead. Buying this fabric ahead of time allowed me to plan ahead for this year. I have used it in my vegetable garden successfully. This is how I laid it out, punched holes in it, and put the plants in them. As soon as your plants are young, you may need to affix it down like the book recommends or wind will lift it off the ground and blow it away. Even though the water eventually seeps through, when it rains or you water, there is a pooling of the water For the flagstone, I put some left over under it to make sure mint wouldn't creep through the gaps. A heavy set of flagstones could be slid across it without it tearing, so it appears to be quite strong.

Everything seems to be going well so far! It has been about two months since we installed this fabric under the foundation stones
5/5

Based on my comparison of similar items, I felt this one sounded the best. The material may also be thicker and more substantial than other Similar ease of installation is likely with other fabrics. No weed has poked its way through so far. A small percentage of what we needed was not enough for the entire project. The fabric from our local hardware store was cheaper than the whole roll, so we opted to use a small piece under the more expensive fabric. That section of the fence is already covered with weeds. In other words, despite flarmor products only being in their first season, early results appear.

You've got good stuff there
5/5

Material that can handle heavy duty work. The French drain was installed with it. The pipe is 4" perforated and the gravel is 10". As if they were wrapping a burrito, everything was wrapped up in the fabric. Neither holes nor rips can be found. I'm planning on covering my raised vegetable bed with the leftover.

A waste of time and money, because it deteriorates in the sun and Several weeks after it was launched, this product failed to last
3/5

I can't imagine any professional would use this product more than once, at least not more than twice. As for being "commercial," this product does not meet the definition. And also. We did not receive a response from the vendor. As a result of shopping at Amazon, you have to roll the dice.

This fabric is the worst landscape fabric I've ever seen! This is supposed to be a heavy duty shredder, shredding everything apart
3/5

In a matter of less than two months after installation, this landscape fabric is already ripping. *recommend not using this product in any way!
It is not at all of the quality of professional landscape fabric! I am still undecided whether I plan to use this company in the future. As of yet, the issue has not been resolved despite my reaching out previously. If I am eligible for a full refund, I should receive it.

The type of fabric I usually buy is thicker. I hope this spring and summer will be weed-free.
