Questions & Answers

The fabric seems to be made of fiberglass, isn't it?

There is no plastic in it. It's an heavy fabric like a commercial Don't be fooled though, it's nothing to be scared of. This is something I installed a year ago. Place 3 in the top row This mulch has been covering the garden for 4 inches and so far there have been no weeds or Bermuda grass to be seen! In the past, there have been issues with landscape materials. Purchased staples with a 10" length and separated every 2 feet. This is a great

this material allow water to go through easy or will it act like plastic when I landscape my rock walls?

A good drain is present in the mine. The tendency for small amounts to pool may be due to the lack of bark on top of the rocks, but I have seen many heavy rains without any noticeable In my case, I used it on a slope with bark on top and was concerned that its residue would wash away however, it did not.

As a result of reading the reviews, how should I cut the material? What is it? What's the reason? What are other simple ways to accomplish the same thing?

There are various methods I have tried. When a sharp blade or scissors were used, I disliked the fraying problem. There was too much melted or shrinkage of the fabric from using a propane torch. An electric soldering gun proved to be the best choice for me. As fast as scissors, it cut through the fabric like butter it provided precision cuts, I could trace fast around complicated shapes (even easier than with scissors) the adjacent fabric was not dampened and a melted edge was left behind It was a little difficult to drag the extension cord around, but I have a 100 ft cord, so it was no big deal. There was a Weller D550 dual heat cordless soldering gun. The high heat setting allows you to move quickly through the task. It did not require me to use just the tip of the soldering iron, like you would when By dragged the wire part of the solder tip through the fabric, I achieved the desired effect. The purpose of this test was to see if it could be frayed if I purposefully pulled the edge apart. It looks like they will stay fused permanently since I couldn't get the cut edge out. These results are quite similar to those you'd get from the factory edge method.

Would I still be able to get weeds if I put one inch of gravel on top?

In the middle of my swimming pool, I have 4 inches of pebbles, and weeds grow there, but they are easy to pull since they grow only My garden has weeds and I do not have any pebbles, so they grow in the seams where the plants Getting to the roots when they grow in seams is difficult, as the roots enter the fabric and become I use a lot of this fabric and it works fine, but you might still have weeds after 1 inch of gravel. I would think that 1 inch of gravel would not grow weeds if it was just gravel without sand or dirt. Thank you for your help.

I think this is unscrupulous, incomplete, and mostly false
3/5

I OMISSIONED The advertising industry. Now that I've worked four days and spent a lot of money, as well as turned on the sprinkler, I'm ready to do the rest. I like the way my strawberry beds look like the great lakes.
This product claims to be permeable to water Okay, I get it. My contact with the manufacturer was met with the following response I have copied and pasted what was written in my email It is designed to be used as a weed barrier in commercial growing applications, where typically plants are not irrigated directly through the fabric. Landscape applications often use this product for landscape purposes, however, that is not its intended application. Either they are in containers above the fabric, or they are irrigated via drip irrigation. Do you see this anywhere in the advertisement? No such thing in my search. Sure, I could spend another two days removing it and returning it for a refund, then spend another four days installing another product, but I don't have the time or energy to spend an extra two days doing that and I don't know if my plants will make it through. The clowns on Amazon really need to go, so I really hope they do. The seller shouldn't be selling here if they don't want to tell the WHOLE TRUTH.

There is no way to make this stuff I took a picture of the weeds growing through it after we put it down (see image)

compound matters, Black and Decker, the distributor, who sold it through Amazon, gives the runaround and, at least from my understanding, makes it virtually impossible to return the order. A representative from the small appliance division puts you on hold for a long period of time before taking your call and directing you to a voice mail box. As far as DeWitt is concerned, Tony, the very nice customer service representative, said they were not responsible for the resellers, and the resellers were responsible for handling warranties. In reality, it has to do with the relationships that manufacturers have with their distributors, and this is not accurate. By controlling the supply chain, they can take care of this sort of problem, which they don't seem to In consequence, this makes it impossible to obtain a warranty on the product. Therefore, you are advised if you wish to purchase this item to be prepared for a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with it.

In advance, I would like to know how much I will need to pay Take a look at that
3/5

A lot of weed cloth has been bought and used by me, and the three rolls of this stuff in which I bought the pieces on one end are all sewed together, with some of them This is the first time I've seen it. A roll of scrap I am interested in buying would be helpful to know in advance and I would be willing to There is no way to justify this.

If You are Using Stones In Your Landscaping, This Stuff Rocks Florida's southwest region is hot and humid
5/5

The seeds carried by the wind or "deposited" by birds and other animals are a year round source of weed growth. In order to achieve professional results in your mulched/stoned landscaping, you must use a commercial grade ground cover rather than the light and flimsy ones available at your local home improvement store. It is likely that even weeds will grow through cheap cloth that is easy to rip and tear. This DeWitt material has a five-year warranty and is heavy, easy to work with, and comes with a rugged finishing. The mulch keeps weeds out while still letting the soil breathe and water soak in. I use it in all my landscaped areas to prevent weed growth. As I recall, the anchor staples included with it are among the best that I have ever used. They are sharp enough to penetrate the ground cloth with ease, long enough to hold it down, and thick enough to withstand this climate for decades. They are made with steel of 11 gauge. You might find these tips useful. It is a good idea not to pull the ground cover too tightly when laying it down. It is very easy to tear a weed barrier that is too tight, especially while walking. You can move it enough underfoot that it will not rip if you let its looseness be sufficient. It is best to avoid walking on it when you can, especially if you cover it with stones. There are a couple of reasons why you should use staples sparingly. A mulch or stone layer that is heavy enough to hold it down comfortably and firmly is one good option. During windy days, I often use staples to hold the weed barrier in place, and then remove the majority of the staples. Only the ones that hold down the perimeter get left in. Using waterproof plumber's tape, I cover the holes left by the staples that have been removed. A second thing worth doing is to fold some of the ground cloth over each staple. You are piercing the weed barrier every time you do so in order to allow seeds in, exactly what you want to avoid You should also use a heavy duty stapler to attach the ground cloth to wood or landscape timbers if you plan to use them to frame the area. Again, leave the fabric loose rather than tightly fastened. The wood frame and mulch (or stones) to cover the cloth have the same size, which would prevent weeds from growing up between them.

This fabric is of a high quality! Around 3/4 of the roll was laid out over the weekend by my landscaper
5/5

As far as he was concerned, this was a superb piece of landscape cloth, so he wished more customers would choose this type instead of the cheaper and lighter ones. The cloth is heavier and has a breathable weave to help drain water. A yellow line is incorporated into the roll every few feet to guide the lay. This might seem like such a small thing, but clearly it was designed by folks who have laid down lots of landscape fabric. It helps to have those lines when it comes to accuracy! This is a product I am happy to recommend. Put it in the perspective of.

This seems like a Tarp to me
3/5

Should it be labelled as such? Then, add this After a few sessions of using this product, I have observed that it does not allow water to pass through. Putting water on both sides doesn't help when I try to do so, the water sits on the table. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know how I could be because I've tried it both ways. While I was sceptical of the material feeling like a plastic tarp, all of the reviews said that the material would permit water to The water sitting on the surface of the ocean is captured on video and in a few pictures. It would be helpful if I could get an explanation as to what is wrong or how I can return the product.

This is awesome and of great quality, but never cut the cord! There's definitely some heavy lifting going on here Weed barrier that is heavy duty
4/5

It is important to keep in mind that we cannot cut through this material without it To cut through the wood and punch holes in it, you need a torch (like a weed torch). There is very little water loss and it does an excellent job at preventing weed growth!.
