Questions & Answers
Experts from Landscape Fabrics can tell you if it is better to use woven or spun It is usually apparent that bond landscape fabrics differ between each side. One side is smooth to touch while the other is There is a sense of individual fibers penetrating through To ensure that the fuzzy side touches the ground, it needs to be on the ground. In general, the smooth side of the siding is treated with a sunblock to keep it beautiful for a longer time. As well as being slicker, it helps water straighten through the fibers at the base of the plant. In order for the landscape fabric to stay in place, it has a fuzzy side that grips dirt.
In the event of an exposed cut, it would fray. When the material is properly secured and then covered, it has never caused me trouble. It used to be that we would burn holes in it with a propane torch so that plants could grow through it (thus sealing the edges), but now we don't bother. For our plants, cutting holes is a very good idea.
This product does not prevent weeds from growing up, so it is likely that plants from above would also be able to grow up through it.
The answer is yes. It was a concern for me after it arrived to find it is heavy-duty. To put under raised beds, I purchased it. As soon as I filled one with dirt, I turned it over in water to make sure everything would be okay. My plants are doing well after being planted in the water after it passed through just fine. There will be more beds in the future if I purchase another roll.

I recommend that you look at the images above before you decide to buy. Planting the barrier and covering it with 3 inches of bark resulted in weeds that were 4 inches high in 2 weeks. I really don't understand what's going on. As a result, this cost me time and money, and now I have to replace it with something that actually.
A review of another brand I looked at indicated that some users believed that this fabric was not water permeable, and they backed up their assertion with photos. I chose this brand because of this reason. The first thing that I did when it arrived was to test it out, and I was surprised to find that water rapidly penetrated the As well, it seemed strong, but it was very The project has prompted me to purchase more of the same and I intend to buy more for another.
This does not permit water to penetrate at all. Because I live in the South, we have thick, deep grass tubers which do not grow back. Therefore, I ordered two rolls to cover my 850 square feet garden. Before I spent two hours rolling out and staple down such a large area, I should have done a water test on a small portion. Though I was optimistic, I still remained cautious. When the whole thing had been rolled out and laid down, I decided to see how well water would penetrate. It took me more than an hour to spray it with the hose in a section. The water was still pooling on the surface after more than an hour. When I returned it, I had to undo the entire thing and fold up two massive rolls to get to the UPS store. I am suffering from severe pain in the left arm. The only thing I was happy about was that I no longer had to worry about it. Although I was extremely hopeful that this would solve my weed problem, it did not work out that way. If the top layer of the fabric were more absorbent, it would make this product much better. It has the potential to be great if they just tweak it a little bit.
It is a good practice to cover the weed barrier with mulch, rock or soil as soon as it has been placed on the ground (or whatever material you choose for your landscaping). The material began to degrade from exposure to heat after two days in the sun. As summer began in the Central Valley of California, I went to the beach for the first time this year. When I purchased two boxes, the weed barrier from one box broke down in the sun, but the weed barrier from the other box did not. It seemed strange that the results would be inconsistent when it was the same item and the same sun exposure. Other than that, I thought the product was easy to use and was made of high quality materials.
Having a landscape fabric in our garden has saved us so much time. Having a heavy duty fabric like this has cut down the amount of weeding required in the garden by a great deal. In our case, we used it to reclaim a neglected garden patch from grass, and it has effectively kept the grass at bay and killed off parts where we put the fabric. Cutting it to the right size is easy, and it is easy to stake it.
In spite of the constant foot traffic, the sharp mulch and the multiple uses, it endures The product can be used for a year. This is a vegetable garden staple that I save from year to year. Whether it's a weed mat for your garden walks or a weed mat for any area where durability is needed, I highly recommend this.
There is no doubt in my mind that this weed barrier is fantastic. There were a couple of different stores I looked at, but their prices were very low, and I'm sure the product wouldn't last There was a lot of weight to this product, and I anticipate that it will last a long time. The product has performed very well when used under small river stone, and the stone did not penetrate the product even when I walked over it to spread the stone around.
My order was shipped two days after I placed it and I received it the following I was impressed with the cutting speed of that blade. The material is heavy, so it requires a sharp blade to cut through it. That seems to be a heavy duty item. the paper are similar to roofing paper, so they help you keep your straight when you are laying out the material.
