As a landscaper, I am accustomed to doing this type of work dozens of times a year. I purchased this in April and placed it in June around shrubs and a fountain. This thin and cheap fabric was to be covered in 2 to 3 inches of landscape colored gravel. The customer said it would be fine. I was very sceptical when I first saw it, but he said it'd be fine. It is possible to use three different widths of this type of weed barrier (3 ft, 4 ft, and 6 ft). Weed barriers like these are generally not topped with another material which allows them to do their job more effectively in nursery aisles. By using it properly, it considerably reduces the amount of weeding that needs to be done. It is possible to top it with rocks, but again, if you don't keep the debris off the rocks, they will break down and leave "soil" for weeds to grow so blow off the dust every so often with a broom or blower. The main reason why I think it is ECO is because it reduces the temptation to use weed killers, which are debilitating to humans and the environment. The problem was that I was mistaken. I am so glad to see this. The big flowerbeds and the mountainous amount of round up I have to use every year led me to use it around huge boxwoods and crepe myrtles in the front. My lawn gets tons of clover every year which drives me crazy. You can be sure this is going to have a positive effect on It was just a matter of throwing in the flower bed and putting mulch on top to decorate. This feels like a thick carpet.
