Questions & Answers

Are there any channels (male GHT) inside this bulkhead that are available for connecting a garden hose?

The bulkhead fitting has 14TPI pipe threads, not 11TPI hose threads, which are 3/4 inch in size. This is a 5 tick impression. I appreciate it

What kind of material was used to make this?

According to what I've read, China is responsible. As a result, this is a high-quality

Do you think this will work for my rain barrel that has 3/4 holes?

There is a requirement to drill a hole of 1 1/4 inches. Making my barrel out of a metal flower pot and drilling the hole myself was my method. Thank you for your help!

Are these valves suitable to be used on a metal barrel?

The barrel I used for it is made out of stainless steel without any issues

I give this item three The brass bulkhead fittings that screw onto it make this one of the more expensive faucets, but it's worth it considering how well it works. No matter how weathered these barrels become under the Florida sun, I will salvage them. It took me about 15 minutes for both of them to go on. You need to follow these simple instructions With a drill, drill a hole in the ground Hole saw that fits 1/4 inch holes The bulkhead bushing is installed from the inside the ring is installed from the outside and channel locks are used to tighten it. Put Teflon tape on the threads of the spigot and attach it from outside. Apply channel locks when finished. Make sure the leak is not there. You can also unwind a wire coat hanger and stretch it through the bottom hole if you can't reach it The bushing can then be slid down to the hole where it can be grabbed by sliding it over the coat hanger wire. There is a chance I might buy two more to use for my two holding tanks since I can connect the valves down low for parallel overflow, as well as for hose irrigation. A flexible hose is more likely to be made of plastic Unlike rigid PVC, flexible PVC is more forgiving. The first update has been posted. The 18th century My star was docked by one. There is always a leak. Overall, I like the design of the head. However, I will switch to the straight 7/8" version in the future since the fitting leaks right at the bushing. Obviously, I followed the directions to a tee (see the While I will keep it, as it is a slow seap on a rain barrel, I am If I have to do it again I'll snug it up even better, but I did it adequately the first time. I docked another star because it took almost 10 days to arrive Still, that's not fast by any means In the continental United States, this is referred to as "free standard shipping. ". It is not okay to deliver an item the very last possible day, and expect someone to be thrilled with the customer service.

Purchasing this one is a wise decision
5/5

It is recommended that you buy this Spigot because of the way that the nut screws onto the bulkhead. The installation is easy since you only need to access two top holes. It allows you to easily install this on 50 gallon drums. While it may seem impossible to tighten, you can, just by working from one side. As for dropping the bulkhead in, I wouldn't recommend it. The best thing to do is hold a weight line up to the opening at the top of the hole you drilled. Alternatively, you can either insert it from the top, tilt, rotate the barrel around until it grabs the string at the drilled hole, or flip the barrel upside down, insert the weighted line into the drilled hole, tilt rotate the barrel until it comes up the When the barrel is oriented upright, thread the male bulkhead piece onto the string at the top. Then let the string drop down the line and the male bulkhead piece will follow it all the way to the By pulling the bulkhead through the hole, holding it, remove the string, and screwing on the nut, you will be able to remove it. The ball spigot used here, the kind that passes through the shaft of a boat, is like the one you'd use. A close door is obvious to you, and open doors are easy to handle. You may have to loosen the bulkhead nut after you screw the spigot to the bulkhead, in order to align it in a downward position after you tighten the spigot.

I was able to install it on a 55 gallon rain barrel with little effort
5/5

The quality of construction of this product seems exceptional, as it recently replaced a 55 gallon plastic drum that I use as a rain barrel. There is an o-ring attached to this solid brass piece A tight seal is created by the ring inside It was very easy to set up. Take a one-day course to earn your 1-day certification Use a hole saw to cut a hole to 1 1/4", then drill the hole to 3/8" The bottom of the picture will be 1/2" or so from the left. As I had seen online, I didn't bother with the "string trick. " I just dropped the inside piece with the o-shaped hole in the middle. As I pulled it through, I caught the ring in the barrel and tilted it so I could grab it. In this case, the nut on the outside is reverse threaded, so it must be turned counter-clockwise Twisting the nut in the opposite direction will tighten it. All I needed to do was wrap teflon tape around the threads of the spigot tubes and tighten them You won't leak a drop! The information will be updated in the future if anything changes, but brass is a material that doesn't tend to go wrong very often. My instinct says it's made of rubber, but I can't figure out what the nut As much as I hope they are stainless so it won't rust, but if it does, then it can be easily replaced without much hassle.

You can install it easily if you use a string to do the trick
5/5

It is easy to install if you use a string to guide the tread from the inside to the hole. As you can see from the photo, the procedure is straight forward. Make sure you keep the gasket on the inside, and note that the nut turns counterclockwise. Also, ensure you use teflon tape on the tread on the valve part to ensure a tight seal.

The top is a great fit for barrels with closed tops! For my closed-cell house I found this solution to be perfect Drill a 1-inch hole at the top for the rain barrel Drill a 1/4-inch hole and drop the back end of the spigot into the hole with a hole saw
5/5

Now, align the hole so that the spigot is inserted with Apply a pipe wrench to the spigot's front end in order to tighten it down. Spigots should be fitted on exposed pipes so that the valves can be threaded on. When you have a leak, be sure to use PTFE tape- It is free to download the.

There is no question that this is solid and works perfectly
5/5

This is great for connecting to a 5 gallon bucket for my project, and it holds up well! Fittings made from solid brass are very durable and strong. The bucket to which this is attached will likely outlast this easily and can be reused over and over again. In the future, I would consider buying this particular spigot if I needed a new one. A very high quality product!.

I love how it works
5/5

These were used to install spigots in our 55 gallon plastic drums. The lids of our drums can be removed, so they can be easily installed. It was my only learning experience to realize that a spade bit is not the right tool to bore into It called for a hole saw, which I did not have, so the spade bit created a jagged, irregular hole that was slightly larger than it had to be. Despite its light metal finish, this spigot does not leak, even though it does not feel completely solid in As soon as I had completed two holes this way, I switched to a forstner bit, which made a much better hole, and the spigots on those later barrels feel much more reliable. A smooth operation is achieved by the valve.

I used this to replace a threaded piece from a hardware store that leaked after many Its design and quality are much better than that of the previous unit. As a previously uninformed homeowner, I wish I had known about this when I first constructed my.
