The top does not involve unscrewing the head portion, but if the valve seat needs to be replaced or the internals rebuilt (without digging the whole thing up), you can do so if needed.
A hydrant like this one lies below the frost line in To connect your inside water lines to an underground black plastic water line with a burst pressure of 150 PSI, you will need an underground black plastic water line. an adapter for connecting a hose barb to a male pipe thread to hook up to a fire In order to allow the hydrant to drain when it is shut off, bury the base of the hydrant in clean river stones for a couple of feet and then dig a hole in the ground. Hope everything works out for you.
You should make sure the water supply is good. You'll get good water out of this system. The hydrants are used in rv resorts all over the country.
There is no leakage. Despite the fact that our stock tank is about 60 feet away from the water hydrant, I hook up the hose (along with the sprayer) and turn on the water after pulling up the handle. In the end, I do it in reverse and then turn off the water hydrant, so no water leaks. Thank you for your help!

As well as knowing how they work and what they are designed for, I have pulled the handle on a number of them after years of use. In order to fix a leak created by a hydrant installed years ago on our property, I went to my go-to person Then I started watching and reading on YouTube and Amazon. Well, after I priced hydrants locally, I jumped back on Amazon once more. In my decision to use Woodford, I took into consideration two things the option to buy a rebuild kit in case of need and the recommendations of installers on You Tube. I had a good experience with the hydrant, which had been packaged well and arrived promptly with a variable flow that actually worked as opposed to the previous models I had The hydrants here are well built and of high quality. We have other older hydrants on our property that will need to be replaced as well, so I may need to buy again if needed.
You did a great job! 69-year-old homeowner dug a 5 foot deep hole in our Colorado clay soil, and then dug a 4 foot deep trench a short distance to the hydrant location, it was simple to install the hydrant. I am genuinely impressed by this product. It is made in the USA. If you don't die before it goes, then this hydrant isn't going anywhere.
The pump is constructed well, is easy to connect to, and works as it ought to. There is no indication that it is lead free on the manufacturer's website. If it were lead free, and they slapped that lead free label on the front of the box, then that would be a selling point.
Shame on you. There is no reason for most of the materials used in construction to contain lead, but the brass fittings on either end are less expensive if you choose the high-quality versions The metal is lead.
Shame on you.
This was meant to replace the cheap Chinese one I had. Instead of buying another China hydrant from tractor supply, I paid a bit more for this. Digging up a hydrant is no small job, and I don't want to do it again. Simply looking at what was on the screen and feeling it would offer a more satisfying experience. An improvement of a thousand times.
There's no doubt that this piece is solid. Upon installation, the top of the roof is already leaking.
Some other brands, like those from Woodford, are difficult to open, while they last a long time. I prefer to use the Woodford faucets because they are easy to pull up and last a long time.
Though I know the company makes a great hydrant, the one we had constantly dripped water from the drain, even when you hadn't In response to my question, customer support instructed me to disassemble the hydrant and if there was dirt around any of the seals, to strip the hydrant. If it was going to be a new one, I would have thought its shipment would have been expedited.
We put a "WOODFORD" in when we moved there in the year 2000. It is still working fine today.
