Questions & Answers

What is the waterproof rating of this product?

A waterproof and highly padded fabric is used for this jacket. Although it would be hard to tighten it enough at the top to keep a small amount of water from seeping in around the cord, I really enjoy mine and have been using them for some time Also, the covers are machine washable, you just don't need to dry them or use fabric softener on them. When I gave some to my Dad, he was a fan from his first use

Are these still going to need the water valve turned off and the pipes bled before you can use them?

In all likelihood, you will not have to do any of that if you live in the house full time. That's not what I do. It is possible that you would have to shut off the valve on these if you are putting these on a winter cottage, however I just use them to prevent my I have no problems with them.

The weather gets very hot here in Arizona, which rarely reaches freezing temperatures. If I leave these on the faucet all the time, will there be any negative consequences?

Other than fading if the faucet is placed in an area where there is a lot of direct sunlight, I don't see any undesirable outcomes. The faucet may even remain cool when you use it since it will not get too hot. My home is in PA, but I have never used these services I bought these as a gift for my niece (who lives in Pennsylvania, too). It took me a while to discover these, as I had purchased another type/brand previously. On the other hand, I put one of mine with the same exterior material on the faucet on the east side of the house in the Spring since I wasn't using it. A few weeks ago, I noticed this one was starting to fade where it gets more sun for a longer period. The one I replaced last year was also fading &amp it led to the formation of a crack. It is a place of demise. The post was quite old and I'm guessing it was a couple of decades old Leaving it on the faucet year round exposed it to constant exposure, eventually causing it to

Water outlets with 3/4-inch outlets sticking out in the yard have 4in pvc pipes insulated with 3/4-inch pvc pipes. Want to cover the 4 inch with a thermal cover?

It's about living. The extreme cold period we just experienced in Texas has left us feeling There were frozen pipes in many neighboring homes. This is not the case! The covers worked great and I am so glad that I bought

this be a good thing? It will be interesting to bought them for the three outdoor faucets I have It is tomorrow, February 12th, Easily installed and very simple to use
4/5

The Pacific Northwest is where I live. A few nights have gotten into the 20s and there have been a few snowfalls, as well. The climate here isn't like that of an arctic region. It will be the coming week, with a forecast predicting lows that could be in the mid-teens, that will test the effectiveness of these three efforts The 1920s. The point of this post is to show you the amazing results people have achieved with this product. Someone (Nicki) placed a small container of water inside one of these and placed it in The length of time the item was in the freezer was not specified. Nevertheless, her photos show that the liquid in one of the containers inside the cover of the freezer remained while the other container became My water was solidified inside the cover after 8 hours in the freezer, without knowing how long she had left hers in there. As you can see from my picture, I left mine inside the cover and in the freezer for 8 hours. Even so, this still could be a wonderful product. And, if the local temperatures actually dip as low as the weather forecast predicts, I will share our experience. Here is the review up to now. There are several things I like about these covers they're tidy, compact, easy to wear, seem to be water resistant, and hopefully they will work *BIG UPDATE Continuing to fulfill my promise, here is my latest The experience was 4 out of 5 A combination of freezing temperatures (mid to high 20s) and snow for five days. As for the covers, they kept the outdoor faucets from freezing very well. If you are looking to solve similar problems, I would recommend this product. Though I'm not sure how they will hold up in longer term freezes or if they are ever subjected to lower temperatures, for our purposes they are just fine. I've changed my review to 3 from 3. Rating 4 out of 5 stars The stars are.

This hose clamp is designed for a tight fit over an outdoor faucet
5/5

I am looking forward to the coming of winter. The faucet sock covers provided by these stores will keep my faucets warm this I just slide them over the outdoor faucets and they fit perfectly. Putting them on and taking them off is really easy. The release pin can be squeezed and the string pulled along to tighten or loosen it.

Styrofoam is easier to use than cellulose sponges, but they soak up too much During the winter, I do have to reconnect my hose several times to do various yard tasks, so I got tired of the styrofoam product
3/5

Mounting the hose is difficult, and I can't take it off and put it back on. These nylon bag types seemed like the answer to my problem, so I hoped. Check that box. They are easier to take out and put back, so check that. The fact is, though, that I live in Seattle where it rains a lot through the winter, and the plants seem to absorb it like sponges. As a result, it would probably not be beneficial if we went from a dry period to a cold one, since they would simply turn into little ice bags that are no longer insulating. As a result, I will leave them off until I know the weather will be cold. A place where it is only snowy and rarely rainy would be a better place for them to be used for continuous winter use.

We take care to fit and protect you perfectly
5/5

During a recent visit to my hometown, I The temperature has risen to 50 degrees, breaking all records- Temps as low as they have been recorded. The water pipes closest to my outdoor water faucets were at risk of freezing, especially considering the freezing temperatures during the winter. Covering my outdoor drinking fountains with these covers is a good idea. Their fit was perfect, they provided good protection, and they stayed securely in place even during high wind chills. Definitely would buy it again if I had the chance!.

The first few days have been great! In addition to being sick and tired of struggling with foam covers, I also wanted something better than faucet bras that never hook
5/5

Hubs, on the other hand, is always the cautious one, and he's used to the foam covers. Eventually, after a handful of attempts, he was able to clasp them tightly In addition, he has a hard time accepting change. Particularly in light of the fact that in the antebellum era There was a spigot that twice froze and broke inside the wall during foam cover days. It was by no means a fun experience. It was me who bought the little socks covers after looking at the ones that were available As well as being thick and roomy, I found these to be water-proof. My favorite part is the little string lock thingies with the squeeze buttons. Contrary to many other brands, this one does not have Velcro straps. The wall will fit much more snugly, giving the wall a nice tight fit. After you have encased the faucets in these, make sure they are snug against the wall after they have been plugged in The top fabric was fanned and straightened out and around, and up against the wall (which hubby was most concerned about). We had a night of 30' temperature followed by a night of 33' temperature a few nights later. As I recall, this winter is supposed to be a La Nina one which means we will probably see temperatures drop to around 28' (or lower) come Jan. I have checked the spigot and everything is fine. It's going to be raining faucet socks for quite a while, so I'm hoping they'll work as well as those Styrofoam bra covers, or I will never ever be able to stop In the event that they fail, I will update the However, I am optimistic for now. It is inevitable that improvements will be made to how we do things and I think this is an improvement over the old tried and true faucet bra.

This is great news
5/5

I hope it will save me money on repairing my outdoor faucet in the future. I like the quality of this product, and it appears to provide a lot of the seal on the cover, which is something I appreciate. I believe these are superior to the styrofoam things you buy in a big box home improvement store and should last for a while.

You are my life saver
4/5

A friend and I bought a new but really old house, and the water shut off is in a weird place, so I was thinking what was I going to do in the winter. As a result of some research, I found these and I am very pleased so far. Winter is a big deal around here since I live in Wisconsin. We had a week of 60 degree temperatures over Christmas) but a few weeks ago we had a week where the temperature reached - 10 with a - 0 wind chill. With 15 wind chill, the temperature is 15 degrees. So far, no damage to the pipes has occurred. will always be a miserable month, so only time will tell if these socks will hold up in the long run but for now they are making a world of difference. Due to the old age of my house, the outdoor water spout is just beneath one of the wood siding panels. It is only a few inches above the wood siding. I put both socks on the outdoor faucet since I only have one, and I had no trouble putting them on. (As an added precaution and because I often misplace things when they aren't in use. they hold til spring (which, where I am, is either late may or early June).
