Our house is 1400 square feet. 3 dogs and a cat live in a 500 square foot house. The dogs are allowed to come and go as they please. We live in RGV, which is in deep south Texas, and this year we've had a terrible flea infestation. I purchased two of these units in December of last year and have since purchased refills as needed. These devices are extremely effective. One unit is in our bedroom (the dogs are small and sleep with us) and the other is in our main living area, which is the second most animal-infested area. Both units are placed on the ground. We had another outbreak just a few weeks ago. The only reason I know this is because when I looked at the unit in the bedroom in the morning, it was covered in fleas. I check both units on a daily basis. Comfortis, a once-a-month pill that kills all fleas and ticks within 30 minutes of contact, is also used on our animals. The traps also have a hidden benefit in that they use a 4 watt night light bulb, which provides light for us to walk by if we wake up in the middle of the night. The unit also includes a paper insert with super-strong glue that traps fleas and is easy to replace. Should you decide to purchase the traps, I recommend purchasing and maintaining backup inserts as well as a small supply of 4 watt bulbs. We will never be without these units based on our previous experience.
The M230 is a flea trap in and of itself (i.e. It has a plastic frame and a light, as well as two adhesive discs. The M231 kit is a set of three refill adhesive discs (the same ones that came with the trap at first) that you use once the ones that came with the trap have run out. The length of time a refill lasts is determined by the severity of the infestation and/or how long the trap has been in use. Due to the fact that the refills are made of thin cardboard with a glue-like substance, They can last a long time, just like the surface that traps the fleas; I've had one refill active for almost two months and it still seems to be working as well as it did when I first put it out.
So it's not the heat that attracts the fleas, it's the color white, so any night light bulb will do, and several leds do emit quite a bit of heat, but when using this trap you really want a dark area and put it on the floor where they can get to it. Another way to do this is with a plate of water with dish soap in it, btw.

) ) I can attest to the fact that it is highly effective! We had a major flea infestation in the sand of our lizard cage, which was most likely caused by cats sitting on top of it. This is what happened after I put it in the lizard cage for a couple of nights (see photo). However, this should not be kept in the same cage as your lizard. Our lizard managed to get to it despite the fact that it was rigged to hang in the cage. He had to be freed from the sticky pad for an hour. Our son's room became infested as well, and he began to get bit. We evicted him, used the traps and flea carpet powder for two days, and the fleas were quickly eradicated. We used this in several rooms of the house after we had gotten rid of the major infestation. Because we have four animals who come in and out, we always catch three or four fleas in each room. Mosquitos, gnats, and other insects have been captured in the traps. ticks - Even a wasp and a field roach who managed to get in were drawn to the light. I know you can make your own trap, but this looks so much nicer than a bowl of water and dish detergent with a light over it in the living room or bedroom. It's also better for our pets. After seeing what these flea traps catch in our house, our neighbors ordered this.
LOL.
A few years ago, I had a terrible flea infestation. I experimented with various methods. I strewn diotomaceous earth around and vacuumed it up, but it ruined my vacuum. In any case, I placed one in my living room and one in each of my bedrooms. Since then, I've kept them all on, and the fleas have vanished! It was also quick. I'm still wearing them in case there are any fleas in the house. They also managed to catch a few other bugs. This book comes highly recommended. In fact, I'm about to purchase some for my son to see if they also work on bedbugs.
It's extremely sticky, but once you get the hang of it, it's simple to replace. I'd rather use this product than flea bombs, which made me extremely sick despite following the instructions and still didn't kill the fleas! Before I got the Victor Flea trap, I had success with fleas by washing bed linens and rugs frequently (I have two cats and one dog who all sleep on the bed), vacuuming frequently, and setting out small bowls of water with dish soap. I'm fortunate not to have carpeting in my home - This made getting rid of the fleas a lot easier - I'd like to have stone floors that I can clean with soap. water.
We've been using Victor flea traps for a while now.
So a possum decided to set up shop in our garage and start a family. My cat was intrigued and remained inside, keeping an eye on them. She sleeps in my bed. You see what I mean. We don't have carpet in our house, which is a blessing! Fleas were jumping all over my legs when I entered my room one day. br>We went on the offensive. Next to the cat tree, this should be placed. Hundreds of fleas had been caught in just a few days. It felt great to see the sticky disc get covered, knowing that each new black spot meant one less flea on me and my precious cat. We've treated the yard and house with all-natural alternatives to chemicals, so we'll have to be vigilant, but I've ordered more discs in the meantime. The only flaw I can see is that there are fleas on the top. I wish the design provided more space and entry points for the parasitic worms to attach themselves to. br>It's completely safe to use around our pets. We don't use chemicals on our pets either, so this is highly recommended. br>Think about keeping some in the garage until flea season is over, so the possums can get some relief as well.
Stop squandering your time and money on useless pursuits!.
She had been bathed several times, was already on Frontline, had switched to a flea collar, sprayed the house, washed the rugs, and so on, but she still had fleas! I decided to set this out in her area for a week instead of doing it all over again. It's simple to see what you're catching, and there were quite a few fleas! With this flea trap and her new flea collar, I was able to solve the problem. If this happens again, I'll forget about all the hard work and money I spent.
