Questions & Answers
House flies are attracted to smell and color, and this trap's smell is the most appealing, with the black top a close second. I've had this trap around horses and it only caught the basic ones, not the biters. Horses (females), deer, and yellow flys primarily go after sight targets and are actually put off by insecticide smells. If you have a patterned blanket for them, it appears to confuse the horse flys' targeting, though bites do occur. They hunt for blood in the same way that female mosquitos do (through sight and CO2), so a simple setup that mimics that is effective. When we lived near horses, the best one was a black target with netting and/or water to drown them. On Amazon, you will find a Bite-Lite trap. I haven't tried it yet, but it appears that the trap is based on the same concept.
I've had the fly traps for about two weeks and they're about half full of flies, so it's time to refill them with water as directed.
Place the trap in the sun if you want to make it more effective. The scent is activated by the heat, and the flies are more active in hot weather. I hung two of these near my garbage cans in the sun, and they were nearly full within a few days.
We put on gloves and poured it into a used mayonnaise jar, tossed it in the trash, and then reused it with another package. Yes, it stinks and is disgusting, but that is precisely why it works. We're down to fewer flies now, and filling the second one is taking longer.

The way this bait attracts flies is completely insane. It's almost as if they were invited to a fly party. It's ridiculous how eager they are to get their hands on the bait. br>br>This is my second purchase of this product, as we have a lot of flies that can get into the house due to the trash cans' proximity. Because I had no idea how to use it the first time I bought it, I foolishly set it up inside my house! What a blunder. This bait stinks like 500 burning dumpsters after a few days, which is disgusting (but the flies love it!). ), so don't make the same mistake I did and place the bait away from your doors and windows, as the odor can be quite strong. br>br>Ok, so I ended up putting it near my outdoor trashcan, which is already a fly magnet. There appeared to be 50 dead flies inside after 24 hours! NO JOKE! Every day, the number of dead flies grows by 50-100 percent. After a while, it's just a dreadful science lesson. live maggots and dead flies in a jar It is disgusting. However, knowing you won't be stung by a swarm of pesky flies while you're outside enjoying the sunshine is priceless. I didn't refill my old bottle because it was filthy, so I tossed it out. Instead, I ordered these two new bottles and, just like the first time, I had dozens of flies dead in less than 24 hours!br>br>If you have an outdoor fly problem: YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WILL BE GETTING THIS PRODUCT! br>br>Another thing to note is that the first bottle I purchased did not include a hanging chain or an umbrella top. The umbrella and chain, in my opinion, are significant differences: one, they provide some protection from rain getting into the bait container, and two, the chain allows you to easily hang it on a branch or fence.
These are extremely effective, but they have a foul odor. They're completely full after just one week, but my husband says he'd rather deal with flies than smell the horrible odor. br>br>These are supposed to be reusable, but it might just be easier to throw them away after one use because who wants to clean out dead fly goop that smells like rotting decay? br>br>In the video I uploaded, I covered the traps with mason jar lids to keep the stink at bay while I figured out how to get rid of the contents.
They aren't joking when they say "they aren't jo Let me be clear about something. I'm just a regular guy who wasn't paid to write this. br>br>I bought these to combat the aerial battle raging in my backyard between me and the flies that feed on my chickens' and dog's poop. I immediately posted these; One is on the outside, and the other is on the inside; the one on the outside has already caught about 15 people. 20 flies. Yes, it stinks after 2 hours, but I poured a small amount from the outside jar into the second jar to put inside, so it's not as bad. To that end, I believe you could get more mileage out of the lure packets if you split one packet between the two jars. I didn't need the entire packet per jar because it's quite potent. I'm going to eat some meat instead. (However, I don't eat a lot of meat) in the future.
br>br>Seriously, I had no idea I had this many files until the entire bottom was filled in a matter of hours!br>br>Cleanup to reuse Quite revolting. The odor that attracts the flies also causes me to have a deep guttural reaction - not to mention a swarm of dead flies in the cesspool of death I almost felt bad about the first one because there were so many dead flies in it. But then I remembered how those scumbags had terrorized, bitten, and made me want to buy a flame thrower. Even though I bought them to reuse, I'll just chunk them and buy more. These magical wonders are much cheaper than a flame thrower, and much cheaper than replacing burnt furniture. They're extremely effective!.
I wouldn't leave them hanging for more than a minute. They only take two days to work, but they are effective! We hung two of them (one in the garage and one on the front porch) for 24 hours. THOUSANDS of flies swarmed around it, forming a 3 inch thick layer inside the trap! It's incredible and it actually works. This book comes highly recommended.
Isn't this the worst? Does it attract and trap flies? Yes! But, in the end, what's the point? It will fill up 10 million flies and you will be disgusted just by looking at it, let alone touching it, once you have used it once. I had to request assistance from a man walking down the street! Obtain it and remove it. Flies flock to the area as a result of this. It entices you, and others fly around you on the inside. Inside it, they continue to live and feed. They are unaffected by death. It has a foul odor. PEOPLE, FIND A NEXT WAY. THIS ISN'T THE WAY IT GOES!.
It was full of lies and there were also maggots all within it by the time it was full and I was supposed to dump it out, and there were still flies swarming at the very top. I proceeded to throw it away because it was disgusting and I could smell the rotten smell from 5 feet away. I really need a refund because I don't have anything to return except the rotten flies and maggots in the jar.
