I'm not sure how well it would work. Paint was peeling off the walls. I was planning on putting it on a piece of glass. The flys are drawn to it by the light.
It is very simple to remove and does not leave a sticky residue.
I'm not sure how long they last, but I bought some over the summer and am still using them in late November! These are fantastic!
It only works on flies and gnats, and I've only used it on my windows. If the roaches walk over it, I believe it will work on your desk.

So, if your kids are running in and out of the house all day, and giant disgusting flies are trailing them in, it's time to call the authorities. Invest in these magical clear sticky fly killers if they don't close the freaking door after you've said shut the freaking door 875345789 times in the last month alone! The pesky flies always seem to flock to the open window, so I was pleasantly surprised to find these on Amazon for a few dollars! Even when the air conditioner is turned on, I keep these little windows cracked open so they can go kill themselves. They will fly back out if the window is left open too wide, as it is today with a nice breeze, so if I see one hit the screen, I slam the window shut until it goes play with its friends! These flies have been around for about 8 days. The first day I wore it, I woke up and went to work, looking over and thinking to myself, "WTF IS THAT?" Before it died, one of the stuck flies laid a TON of eggs, which I promptly discarded outside.
After being irritated by flies for far too long, I decided to purchase this. It is simple to use the sheets. They have a small strip of glue on the top to stick them to the window, and the bottom is loose so they can be removed easily. The sticky side is extremely sticky, and it appears to attract flies. It's best to put them somewhere where flies congregate but where you can't see them because it's obvious when they get stuck. I cut each sheet into two or three pieces to use on different areas, and I throw away the ones that get stuck. They are successful.
Look for areas of your windows that receive direct sunlight, as this is my recommendation. I've had the most success in this area. However, observing the flies for a short time will reveal their flight patterns. br>However, as I previously stated, they work as soon as they are placed in the proper location. I'm not submitting photos as a result of this. When you find your mark, they start to look a little gross. You can easily find 15- to 20-pounds of flies depending on how many get in. On one of the traps, there are 20 flies. br>Those pesky dogs and kids coming and going!.
The problem is that the brand is no longer available, so I figured I'd give these a shot because they looked similar. br>br>I got about twice as many for the same price as the other name brand, and they're made and look exactly the same. I hung ours near plants in the windows. They catch a lot of fish at first. When they're almost full, take them down and replace them. After about a month, there are only a couple of people who are caught. In addition, all indoor plants' soils are treated with granular insecticide. Using this method in conjunction with these strips completely eliminates our gnat problems. It has the ability to catch other bugs; every now and then, a spider will attempt to catch one of the bugs on the strips and will be caught as well. These bug catchers work great, and I would recommend them to anyone who has flying bugs, particularly gnats that come in for the winter.
Last year, I came across these. Over 80 flies were caught on one strip, which was left up for 48 hours. The light from the window attracts the flies. I was astounded by how quickly they worked. I used four straps, and this one was the most clingy. Infestation was over in three days, rather than the usual two weeks before the strip. It's simple to put on and take off the window. Flies cling to the surface and are unable to remove themselves. I'm very pleased with how the purchase performed.
br>br>In the video, one of the dogs left the door open a crack overnight, allowing flies to enter. I'd just finished putting up some new ones. We didn't have any flying around the house because they were all caught. br>The bottom of the windows seems to be the best spot to catch them.
I was on the lookout for fly bags when I came across these. So I decided to give a package a shot. I'll be placing additional orders. They catch small gnats and flies outside on the screened porch door. The same can be found within. It's nice not to have gnats buzzing around your head. Also catches flies, as well as a hobo spider. To be honest, if I see a critter that is still alive and struggling, I kill it. It reminds me of the movie The Fly.
These have made eating, sleeping, and simply being in our home ten times less frustrating. They're simple to put on and take off, and they're relatively unobtrusive (until they're full of flies, mosquitoes, or gnats-- They are, however, extremely simple to replace! ) I'd give it a big thumbs up!.
