Questions & Answers

I have a hive of honeybees that I keep - Would they become entangled in it as well?

Yes, based on my personal experience. I've had mine for a few weeks, and while it's caught a lot of flies, it's also caught a lot of bees, which isn't ideal.

Is it okay if I give the trapped flies to the chickens?

It is determined by the type of bait used. After all, it'll be consumed and bathed in by the flies. The attractant in this product is non-toxic, according to the label. It is non-toxic and insecticide-free. As long as this is true, feeding your chickens in reasonable quantities is perfectly safe. (Don't swarm a handful of chickens with a full trap of flies at once.) ) Maggots, on the other hand, are simply fly larvae that have hatched within the trap. They'll be a huge hit with the chickens.

Is there an odor similar to that of the fly traps?

While I was outside, I added the packet to the water in the jar, and there was no discernible odor. I swirled the solution containing the flys every day for several days, as directed, to keep the fluid over the dead flys. While doing this, I didn't notice any unpleasant odors.

What line do you want to fill?

I didn't look for a fill line; instead, I just half-filled the jar with water and tossed in the attractant packet. All you need is enough water to drown the flies that get into the trap. Within two days, the jars surrounding my backyard chicken coop (6 hens) fill with flies. During the summer, the tank must be emptied every three weeks. This item performs admirably.

This combination of cheese and rice is a winner! Let me begin by explaining WHY I purchased this product: My family and I have three dogs
5/5

a staple in our household - I installed a doggie door that leads to our back patio, so they can come and go whenever they want. We have a GSP among the other dogs who will eat the face off anything unknown to him that pokes its poor, unassuming head through that flap. As our security chief, our GSP is well compensated. br>br>We have a portal for the dreaded black house fly, but only during the summer months, thanks to the convenience of the doggie door. Summer is when we entertain our friends and our children's friends, so you can imagine the horror on our guests' and my wife's faces when they discover a small battery of these nasty maggot layers buzzing around in our kitchen. In the battle against these persistent, nasty SOBs, our best efforts to keep the kitchen as clean as Private Joker's latrine were futile. br>br>In the kitchen armory, we have three fly swatters. Electricity is one of them. It zaps the life out of these scavengers on the lookout for putrescence. Actually, it's quite enjoyable - There was a flash of plasma, which was followed by an ozone plume and smoke - If you listen closely, you can hear them wailing as life rushes out of their wretched bodies and into the depths of Mordor, or whatever hell these things end up in. By my electric swatter, I actually keep a sharpie. I make a mark for every fly soul I steal with this thing, kind of like in WWII. I've completely filled one side and then switched to the other, just like a 101st Airborne paratrooper would with his folding stock. In WWII's European Theater, the 30 Carbine was used. br>br>As a result, the two manual swatters act as a backup and are extremely useful. On some days, I kill more than ten flies in my kitchen. Every time one of our fur babies makes another trek through the yard and into the house, one of these despicable insects infiltrates our sacred safe zone, no matter how clean we keep things. It's time to bring out the big guns; I'll use bug spray on occasion to inflict a little more pain and misery on these hovering enemies, but it's not the best solution. Fly paper didn't work, and it's an eyesore around the house. Something more was required of me. I couldn't use the flamethrower or tactical nukes because I wasn't ready, so I did the next best thing. I purchased this item. br>br>The Captivator fly trap arrived a day or two after I placed my order (thank you, Prime), and I tore the box open right away to take a look. When it came to Christmas, I was like Ralphie. I read the destructions and then took the sealed package of mystery death powder that came with the kit out of the box. "How bad can this be?" I reasoned. "It contained putrescible egg solids, according to the label. " I'm not sure if there's a word that's more powerful than putrescible, but there should be. Before I even opened the package, I could smell this stuff through the plastic. My expectations were high, and a nefarious, Gricnh-like entity was threatening to derail them. My face was covered in a grin. br>br>I took it outside and hung it up - I placed the water and powder near my back door (the one with the doggie door) and followed the directions. Great - Let's see how things turn out. So, brother, here's something I'd like to tell you: They come in from the next county because of this. I had a hundred or more flies drown in the putrescence that had enticed them in the first place in less than two days. I had a wonderful time. It seemed to be working. br>br>However, that is where my issue lies. Yes, it worked; however, it worked TOO well. Not only did I attract flies from the next county, Texas, and California, but I also attracted flies from the next county, Texas, and California. What the hell is going on? I'd be a millionaire if I collected dead flies. The issue was that it was dangling directly outside my back door. It smells bad, but it attracts a lot of flies. There were so many flies in my kitchen that I couldn't keep them out. It took me about a week to realize that I needed to get this thing out of the way of my back door - nearer the property's back. The goal was to apprehend all of them before they could contaminate my kitchen and ruin my sanity. In my zeal to exterminate these heinous creatures, I exacerbated the problem. So, once I moved this terrifyingly awesome fly death administrator away from my back door, my fly problem went away, and I was able to sleep peacefully again, dreaming of being in the sun. Thousands of women screamed and hurled pickles at me while wearing god robes on a pyramid. br>br>In a nutshell, this is a fantastic product that you should take advantage of.

I've never used a better fly trap! Please see the attached photos! This is an incredible product
5/5

We also added a piece of raw meat as directed in the directions. Well, I believe we've caught every fly in town! My next- Because our next-door neighbors have horses, we've been eaten alive by black biting flies in our yard (along with our dog) for the entire summer. ) We've had no problems with flies since hanging this trap. We caught so many flies in one trap that we decided to put up a second one right next to it. My dog is ecstatic now as well! There will no longer be any bites.

Much better than anticipated, but keep in mind the following
5/5

In comparison to disposable and home-made traps, this one works exceptionally well. The easy fly-in black Their entry system is fantastic, and the bait only adds to the experience. This reusable trap was given to me last summer, and I'm still using it this spring. The older the bait in the water gets, the more it "sucks flies right in. " " Due to evaporation loss, you must add more water at least weekly, especially so that a deeper layer of flies is drowned. br>br>When it gets really full, I add more water to float the flies before scooping just the flies out into a grocery bag with a large slotted spoon from the dollar store. Keep as much of the foul-smelling fly juice/water as possible, because flies adore it. I've been using the same attractant and water since last year, and they like it even better now that it's terribly rank, so keep it away from the house and it'll keep the flies away from it, while attracting the neighbors' flies! The wind direction could cause temporary issues with a neighbor if you have very close neighbors, which I don't have. br>br>I raise miniature pigs, and this trap is the most effective; perhaps piggy poop in the bait bottle would also work? People have been known to mix raw chicken or fish with dog poop. This bait is more effective than the raw chicken and fish I've used in homemade traps, which must be aged in the sun before they can begin to work half as well. This reusable bait trap bottle is also a huge improvement. In their trap, I used this product's special bait blend, which works well and improves with age. It works best when it smells dead (don't clean it at that point). I'm not sure when I'll need to refill the bottle with their special bait blend, but I have spares on hand and will know when it's time when the flies stop swarming the fly trap bait bottle.

However, it does work
3/5

So, this is a photo from the first day. This system is undeniably effective. However, when we put it out, there were a lot more flies than usual. As a result, it will undoubtedly attract them and bring them to you, which is why I gave it three stars. I was aware that it contained an attractant, but the number of flies was staggering. We got it because we're always in the backyard with the kids, and they always land on us and fly into the house. We don't have a dog, so we don't have any pop in the backyard, and we're not sure why they're so prevalent, but it was like a fly farm today. They did, however, make their way into this thing, but flies are plentiful! I'm just curious if, if I leave it out, this will continue or if, because so many people are dying, it will slow down. I'm at a loss for what to do. I'll keep you informed as things develop.
