This was exactly what I needed. Texas is my home state. This year's mosquitoes are particularly bad. It constantly zaps them; I still have to apply my homemade mosquito repellent to my skin, but my porch is more comfortable. This zapper has also helped with flies, which are particularly bothersome to my pets.
I've always purchased two of everything. 3 1/2 to 1 acre units were never enough to hang on my 16x40 deck, and they were difficult to clean, taking an average of 2 hours to clean three units. I bought four of these and they've been working nonstop for me, with very few if any bugs and no mosquito bites. I only spent 30 minutes cleaning all four units when it came time to clean them because they were nearly all plugged up after only ten days of use. br>br>I would strongly advise anyone to read this.
I LEARNED NOT TO PLACE IT IN FRONT OF THE FRONT DOOR - Place it on the opposite side of your door's opening. Turn it off and wait for it to cool before spraying it with the hose to get rid of all the dead bugs. THANK GOD FOR THIS - The Mosquitos were driving me insane.
It makes me jump, but I'm sure it'll be fine once I get used to it. What matters is that. I'm going to hang it on a flower wall hook that I bought.
It's been a particularly sweltering year in this part of the country, with a swarm of flies, gnats, and mosquitos infesting my store. This bug zapper cut their numbers in half at least by at least by at least by at least at least at least Maybe as much as as as I'll just buy some weaver spiders and hang them in the corners next time. br>br>I believe the light was simply insufficient. Something comes to mind. Rather than playing in the zapper, bugs would prefer to bite me. They seemed to find other things to do than get themselves zapped even after I left the shop and turned off every light except this bug zapper. br>br>However, the UV light and zapper's design are both attractive.
I'd hear zapping noises that I mistook for mosquitoes being killed. I caught a whiff of something unfamiliar. There were no mosquitoes in the trap when I tried to clean it! I heard electrical surges and smelled the beginnings of a fire, and after further research, I discovered that bug zappers of all kinds do not work. The unit will be returned to me. Mosquitoes are still a problem in my home. I'm currently experimenting with a new technique.
This is difficult to clean, is not waterproof, and appears to have a short. br>I knew it wasn't waterproof, so that wasn't a big deal - I was aware of this when I made my purchase. br>Cleaning up is a pain in the neck, and the lamp's included brush is completely useless. br>It's only been two weeks, but the plug already has a short. br>There are a lot of bug zappers out there, and I'm not going to buy this one again.
This was purchased for both indoor and outdoor use. It spends most of its time indoors, where it is quiet and simple to clean. I have a dog door and two large dogs that come and go throughout the day. Yes, the door keeps most insects out, but some do get in and need to be dealt with quickly. If my family eats outside on the deck, we bring this with us to keep pesky insects at bay. I'd make another purchase. It is more effective than the insect catcher that uses a vacuum and a sticker.
