Questions & Answers

Do you know if it can handle 220v as well as 110v? 220 volts is the voltage in the country where I live. ?

Since I live in Norway and we use 220v, i bought a 75-foot 110v outdoor extension cord and connected it to a LiteFuze 300w up/down transformer in my farm storehouse, and it works perfectly

The BK-100 is safe to use with a 10 AMP extension cord Would you mind sharing a few facts about the 80D?

I think you can use a 100 ft 16 if it's shorter than 14, but it's better if it's a little longer. Please check the amps and wattage information on the extension cord you intend to use and confirm the 100 ft cord can support the amps and watts necessary for your zapper. As a general rule, heavier wire appears to travel farther and faster over long distances. If you use the 100/16 and it doesn't blow a circuit breaker, then it should be fine, but there's no guarantee there. If the zapper is connected to a circuit with a heavy load on it, such as a refrigerator or air conditioner, it is not safe. Be sure to tape the plugs that are exposed to water with electrical tape if the zapper is left out in the elements. It will depend on your situation, but make sure you do not have extra heat when you touch the cord or the plugs. If you follow the instructions on the extension cord and the zapper, you will be safe.

This can be used to kill flies, right? It's very difficult to eat in my patio because there are no mosquitoes, but the flies are eating everything. ?

The 1 acre version of this model works like a charm for killing house flies! It is a scam, but I don't know why people say it is It kills them from the inside as well as the

Can you tell me what voltage this unit requires? This is 110-. Is it 220V?

Almost all of the There are three conductors in the cord and three pin plugs on the 80 A grounding plug is designed to be used with grounding receptacles only for circuits operating at 110 to 120 volts alternating current. There is no possibility of using it with 220 volts alternating current. In order to use it, a three-prong socket must be used. Adapters that fit two prongs to three prongs should not be used. It is also not recommended to use 220 volt to 120 volt adapters.

There is no Moon in that picture! Then, add this When I purchased the bug zapper in a fit of rage, I didn't want to battle those damn mosquitoes
5/5

You are going to get a war from me! I felt as if millions of tiny voices were suddenly silenced the moment I plugged the device in for the first time. In an attempt to escape mosquito scum, some of the insects attempted to escape to a small moon, but soon realized that moon did not exist. The Death Zapper used to be there! After I had heard the last little mosquito fly to its death under the influence of the intoxicating glow, I at last called him "You fool. ". It is only now, at the end, that you realize your feeble blood-sucking skills cannot compare to the power of an insect zapper. It is now that you will pay the price for your bloodlust! Buzzzzapppppp! in a blink of an eye, he was gone for good! I have muhahahahahahahahahahahaha.

It appears that mosquitoes are responding well to the experimental treatment
5/5

A solid product. When I first turned it on, I had no idea it was so bright! These are two of the mosquito control products and options I purchased after researching various options and products. I will be reviewing mosquito control products in my review In the event that that's not your interest, this information isn't likely to be much use to you. To start off, I would like to give you information about THIS particular product The end of this article will reveal the other options I considered and why this product was the best option. Though not directly a review of the product, sometimes one item turns out to be the best because of its limitations or lack of functionality compared to In summary, since I spent a great deal of time collecting and analyzing the data, I felt it was important to mention them here. Someone else may be able to save time by not having to spend theirs I was very impressed just by opening the box to see the simplicity and full assembly of the product - it had been all ready to use. It went really well, with the bulbs installed and all. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get There is a metal hanging loop on top of the unit, as well as The instructions need to be read carefully All my research has shown me that there are quite a few subtle tricks to killing mosquitoes or catching them. Hence you should not just connect a cable, plug in the device, and then expect magic to happen. Position above the ground, orientated towards common wind patterns, situating it behind or in front of something that blocks the wind, and visibility (the insects gotta SEE the light to be attracted! are all important factors you need to be educated Lots of information is available online, in addition to what is in the manual. Please peruse it carefully. Ensure you do not hang this right where you intend to enjoy your outdoor area. In addition to being attractive to pests, it attracts ants as well They are then killed. However, it may take between 1 month to 3 months for the pests to die after they appear. You might actually have more bugs if you place this device too close to your outdoor recreation areas. I am amazed at the number of bad reviews I read about devices that will repel pests because the owner was not aware of how something like this actually works or didn't read or follow If you want to reduce the number of pests in your enjoyment area, then you have to situate this unit close enough to your enjoyment area but far enough away that it is drawing bugs away from you rather than toward A rant follows )You'll need a way to hang this device since it has no feet, the bait cup is on the bottom, and if you don't hang it, you'll end up with a pile of bugs on top of it. When I went to my local home improvement store there were several options for me to choose from Look in the garden section for hanging plants and those would be good choices. Tall metal rods that stick straight into the ground like a stake and have loops and hooks at the top can be bought for a couple bucks If you want the unit to stand alone and move it easily, this option would be ideal. Purchasing a 12-volt light bulb is the simplest thing I've done A hanging basket bracket that spans 15 inches long It can be attached to a fence, your house, or anything else, and it works just like you would imagine. It's no big deal. - - Also - Because the bottom of the black outer cage is not flat on the bottom, it does not stand upright well. Those bait holders are what make the bait holders unstable, so I think they should have done a bit better. It would only take a slight change to the mold for the plastic outer grid to correct it. However, this is only a minor problem, since it is only as it is while you are using Nevertheless, keep an eye out In the event that it falls hard on the base, you may break the small plastic tabs that hold the bait cups in place. In addition to working as bulb retainers, they are still important even if you don't use bait. I'd like to also focus on lures, baits, and attractants for a moment. The same thing is called by different names The unit comes with one small octenol lure that you can use to fish. The 400mg time release tablet is all I've got. Your choice of mosquito bait might depend on where you live if, as I do, you are searching for mosquitoes specifically. We are extremely fortunate to have a wide array of species here in Houston. My first order came from an online company - a combination of lures. Amazon is not the right place to find the right baits. There are THREE key ingredients you need to use to lure mosquitoes of all kinds In addition to mosquitoes, octenol attracts a variety of other insects as well, such as The ones that are active in the morning immediately after dawn and in the evening right after sunset. In contrast, you need a combination of lactic acid (which is found on the skin of humans) and ammonium bicarbonate for non-light bites (during the sunniest times of the day or at night, evening, holidays, and so on). As a result, your mosquito bait will have to be adjusted based on factors such as your location, species of mosquito, and other factors. As well, you can test using baits with no smell to see what kind of results you get. You might be able to do that and if so, you can With this solution, you won't have to worry about anything. My name is Meg The mosquitoes I hate and they love me, so the goal I set for myself was to eradicate them completely, to the maximum extent possible. In order to make this work, the unit needs to be connected to the power source. It says to use a cord and connector made specifically for this purpose, yet I couldn't find anything like that down at our local home improvement store. The 50 feet that I bought ended up being the right size. It was dark green and was rated for outdoor use as a landscape extension cord. In light of the huge increase in outdoor holiday light displays, I would imagine that anything suitable for outdoor holiday lights would work. Obviously, if you are paranoid and have the money, you can hire an electrician to do something fancy for you. Last but not least It is my intention to do a simple test before purchasing extension cords, mounting brackets, and committing to a permanent installation. I rigged a hanging option using a small piece of wood and hung the unit about two feet away from a tree. About 3 feet above ground level I don't know where you would get your legs exposed if you wore shorts! Once the trap was set, I stuck a white piece of material under it to make it easier to see But anyway, I used the lid of a Styrofoam cooler. It will not blow away if you watch out I was able to fix that with a brick. The first time I saw the news There you have it! On the foam lid were a dozen or so dead mosquitoes. It's a success! Several species were observed but only one or two species were identified The additional baits have yet to be delivered and installed, but I expect better results once they are. It's hard to tell how well this unit will reduce mosquitoes over the long run, or even if it will be enough to prevent you from getting bitten when you go outside. The bug spray DOES kill mosquitoes in the Houston area, and with more attractants, it should get those aggressive and horrible Tiger mosquitoes! My next project is to test the effectiveness of bug spray on the Houston area. Then once those are hung, and I get the additional baits, and check on how they work I will consider adding CO2. There is no doubt that carbon dioxide serves as THE best mosquito bait. This is why you see so many propane traps filled with CO2 and heat produced when propane is burned. There is a difference between my plan and yours In order to apply the method used by health workers all over the world to trap mosquitoes for health and medical research, I'm using a trap made from an iPhone. Using a simple insulated container to store the dry ice (a thick cooler that's going to last a long time) and some simple plastic tubing, we will make a dry ice bottle. The vapors must be forced through the tube by punching a hole in the cooler down low. Put in the dry ice and seal it up. The end of the tube should be inside my bug zapper so mosquitoes will be attracted to the grid and killed. A done deal. Regardless of how successful the other options are, I will only pursue that option if the others aren't available. As a whole, the results were not good It is simple, inexpensive, and durable, and I like that it is so simple. By adding baits and other attractants, you can scale this up depending on your needs, but you'll still spend far less than you would on fancier products with propane tanks and nets. The following other options are available I do not like them, and why I chose this over them. As an outdoor enthusiast, I was reluctant to spend hundreds of dollars on one of the mosquito-control devices This trap has a specific set of rules. It's a good idea to get a Mosquito Magnet for a few different 1) The large number of reviews about the unit breaking down (strike 1), the large number of reviews about difficult service (strike 2), and the cost for repairs sometimes exceeding As a result, it was unclear whether one could maintain one of these things. 3) All trap-style units require the use of a significant number of Degrading propane tanks and proprietary nets that dry rot, wear out, or degrade over time. Batteries and electronics that are specific to certain applications. The lures you use have to be purchased in specific shapes because the machine does not allow you to stick a bait anywhere, unlike the Flowtron zapper that you can stick a bait anywhere. There are two little nooks at the base of the bulbs specifically for this purpose, but there's no reason why the trap wouldn't be effective if you added some alternative bait types and just stuck, lashed, or otherwise affixed them so that they were visible. Traps are most often set up to capture rats When you get creative with your bait placement, style units are not designed to work The suction area must be located in a specific location in order to lure mosquitoes into the vacuum suction unit. A vacuum cleaner like the one you have at home can help It is very unlikely to get much suction when you're a few inches away from the nozzle. 3) There seemed to be fewer placement options as most of the traps appeared to be placed at odd angles Units of this type looked as if they were simply laying There was almost always some kind of wheel attached. The wreaths couldn't be hung from a fence post or swagged to a tree like the ones you see on Christmas trees. I wanted something smaller, so that I could move it as needed as needed since I wasn't sure where they'd end up. It was another reason I didn't want one of those yard misting systems. Adding chemicals to my yard on a regular basis just wasn't my thing. Additionally, those are very expensive, require significant consumable costs, and require plenty of space to house the large tank of chemical and pump. Do you really want to spray chemicals directly on my skin? We don't need you. My home is too far away from the Everglades to camp there, but maybe in the Everglades. One of those fogger guns I tried out was probably more dangerous than it was fun Do you know the type that is sometimes powered by propane and sometimes by electricity? This oil is specially formulated for use on the planet Use a cellulose-based product to produce an ultra-bright display The mist produced by a garden spray set to "fine" will be hundreds or thousands of times finer than what a garden spray here is that the fog will permeate around leaves, foliage, and just about everything else, so that it will provide complete and total I only took a few minutes to do my yard, and only a few minutes to wait for the fog to dissipate, and I am bug free You were free for hours. It only took a few Within five minutes, the unit had heated up to a temperature that allowed for operation. After that, you had to squeeze a trigger to pump the oil into the fogging chamber A problem is that it must be done precisely - you must pump at a precise rate. According to the instructions, if the fog is too "wet" or "dry," then that is what will happen, but I also found out that my unit was constantly releasing oil drops as well as fog. If you don't product only fog, the product will be consumed MUCH faster. Fog is supposed to allow a quart of oil to last for weeks or even months, but if you don't produce only fog, the product is consumed much Your control over all of this depends on how you hold the unit during use and how long you squeeze the trigger. There is a rate of performance change depending on outside temperature, as well as As a result, you must be an expert on the subject. Additionally, you have to fog the area each time you want to use the unit. I found it took 15 minutes or so to haul it outside, plug it in, let it warm up, fog the area, and then you MUST let it cool off for about 10 minutes before putting it away. You can get an idea of the heat by watching the following video The fogging chamber has warnings on it that you must never touch it. Flames can shoot out if the fogger is used incorrectly, and the fogging chamber itself can send flames if used wrong. In the last part of the video, we saw I appreciate you- There are repellents that work against people. There were some good reviews regarding some of these and they seemed to be viable options It is relatively cheap, easy to use, doesn't require a lot of waiting time, and has fewer Let me be honest with you However, those were among the better options as per my criteria, but I did not try them. In my view, it wouldn't make sense to keep spares on hand at all times when guests came over. Is it possible that we could have these straps or anklets be clipped onto the shoulders of women wearing cocktail dresses? We are facing too many logistical difficulties. While these products have a place, they are not safe enough for keeping an apple orchard and a castle free from Additionally, and beyond the products purchased You can do mosquito control yourself in any number of ways The fan can be in the form of a 2 liter bottle with yeast in it or a box fan had difficulty separating truth from fiction, but only after seeking out some studies by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and others was I able to separate fact from fiction. This is what you need to know A variety of nasty diseases can be transmitted by mosquitoes. It's a BIG DEAL to find a cheap way to control them in countries in the third world. The most common problem I found was that most people who had moved into new homes weren't prepared The systems that have been made do work, but they are not powerful or effective enough to control population growth. It will seem like they are working when you catch some mosquitoes and you'll think they have worked. However, the real test should be conducted in the real world You can try to get bitten outside if you walk around. If my methods succeed or not, that will ultimately determine how successful they are. I pray you will be blessed, if you've read this far! It works properly, but its bulbs do not work
3/5

Purchasing two 80W generators for my farm was my latest purchase. My yard has shepherd's hooks where I hung them and connected them to timers that light them at dusk and turn them In addition to keeping the flies and other bugs at bay, they also keep the livestock from getting sick. Despite this, each unit comes with a couple of bulbs, and every single one of them failed within a few weeks. The bulbs for these units must be replaced for almost $40 this year, if I intend to use them. If this 100% failure rate is the norm, should I budget for this on an annual basis? There were two bulbs that died before the end of summer (after a few months) and the last one died just That's only a lifetime of *6 months at 30% duty cycle, or on the order of 1000 hours. It seems unreasonable for a UV bulb to have such a short life span in this In the case of this kind of gross waste, it really does smell of an intentional self-indulgence Designing products in a destructive way In order to maximize revenue, do the bulbs fail when they are installed? Flowtron is a quality product manufacturer or is the company incapable of producing one? Does it matter which theory is true? When I ordered new bulbs, I learned that the starter bulbs had also gone bad. There is no way to order them anywhere but Flowtron, and their shipping costs are the highest in the industry. The whole thing is a mess.

The purest form of redneck entertainment
5/5

In terms of how we live in this country, we are relatively new. My wife ordered a bug zapper for us last year because I mistakenly left it up to her. As she is not good at estimating size, she says that bodes well for me (I'm still not sure how that works), so the previous zapper wasn't up to scratch. Having said that, here in the mountains the mosquitoes are already bad, so I pulled out my Amazon App and purchased the king of all bug zappers. A thousand suns engulf this thing, the hum echoes like those of gym class, and it destroys flying insects (maybe even small birds) with extreme prejudice! I may have to move it outside since I'm not sure how we can sleep with that noise at night. Within a few steps of our bedroom window is a power plant that generates 21% of the world's electricity. The three thumbs up are solid and well deserved.

It's the Mosquito's time to go! It has been 3 years since I got it
5/5

My home is located next to a swamp, so needless to say I lack any hope of winning the war on mosquitoes, but this, combined with my bat houses, does sure keep the population in check. It looks this way every morning when I take this photograph, taken this morning, Thursday, 7/7/2015. It's so full that the next day I have to unplug and wash it down to get rid of any remaining grime. I plug it back in at dusk and it's completely full by morning. not use mosquito inserts, do not see the point, and I do not feel it is a waste of money when I can get the mosquitoes on my.

The purchase was definitely a disappointment
3/5

This was updated Here is more information about this replacement for the zapper. A replacement unit was sent from Amazon, however the transformer completely burned out within two months, and all I have now is a bright lantern that doesn't do any damage. After 15 years of use, my Zapper finally died, so I decided to replace it with this item. Out of the box it didn't work. The light in question did not work even after checking to see if it fit snugly. I have watched it for two nights in a row without seeing one zap and there are many bugs flying The purchase was definitely a disappointment. Get no response from the number on the zapper when you try to call it.
