Questions & Answers

What type of aeration system does this have?

Each surface of the chamber has air holes that automatically create an aeration system when it is rotated every day or so. Rotating it also provides a good opportunity to add moisture to the soil. Moisture is as important to me as it is to others who live in NV.

The unit you describe has a valve that allows excess water (commonly known as tea in the world of composting) to drain off?

This sink does not have drains, but being that it snaps together, it cannot be really sealed. Water can easily drip out and seep through since it is not sealed.

Are the cranks simple to turn or do they have a crank?

A crank is not present. With your hands, you can turn it easily

Thanks for the info. I just put this together and there does not seem to be an inner bar. WTF? Can you tell me if there is With the 18, I got a 76. One gallon in a 5 gallon bucket. ?

You can check the Miracle Gro website for contact information just in case you have an inner bar in yours.

The unit is easy to assemble and sturdy With the Prime Two Day Delivery on Amazon today I received the 28 gallon model
5/5

a) Its packaging is extremely sturdy and compact, and the instruction booklet is very accurate and informative. This is probably one of the best assembly booklets I have ever seen, and I am not a kid. Sturdy and attractive, the unit had a strong design. After I finished assembling the unit, it took me about 40 minutes. It was a bit challenging to screw in the two screws that secured the center rod. Although the spec of the two holes is a bit smaller, I managed to secure the screws on slowly and patiently without stripping them. I want to thank all the snap-happy snappers out there My third and final step was to double check how they are secured to ensure that no unnecessary leaks occur (very There are six small yellow snap-dragons A clasp in the middle of the main barrel should not harden and crack with time, but that seems to be the area that may be an issue out It will be taken out to the backyard tomorrow, and the compost ingredients will be added to feed this new organic equipment

I will start out putting in the compost ingredients tomorrow
A 28 gallon tank is a great size. It is going to be hard to fill it up with ingredients. Due to the fact that I don't make coffee at home, I would probably go to Starbucks and see if they could give me coffee grounds. Another Chinese restaurant owner who I might be able to get vegetable scraps from is another source that I know. In order to get your hands on more compost materials, you must be resourceful have filled this 28 gallon unit, I will get another single compost unit while this one cooks. It should be tested on the field if it proves to be a miracle My impression is that this unit is satisfactory, and I'll buy another one if it looks good next to another one. It is a miracle that I know- It is cheaper to purchase the two single units at Amazon rather than buying the Gro twin barrels The hard plastic base of the single barrel model was just too rigid for me. On the other hand, the rack of the dual barrel model is metal, and I'm afraid it'll rust in time, and it looks It is possible that 56 gallons of water could be too much for the metal base to hold. *br/*br/Just my two cents, hope it helps. I wish you all the best with your composting!.

Due to an error on my part, the first one I ordered had to be returned
3/5

Despite ordering two, I had to return the first one because one of the parts was misshaped and could not be used. It is a bit flimsy and prone to bending when heavily loaded. A new update has been made as of 10/06/16. This composter was a great buy, but I rated it one star after using it for the summer. It is as predicted in my first review of the stand, it completely bends to one side and falls The bricks had to be stacked up to keep it upright. The point I want to make is that it never reached In addition, a poor drainage system and an accumulation of liquids caused the composter to omit a foul odor at times. There is a better composter made elsewhere, which is what I recommend.

It has so far worked, but one thing needs to be addressed
4/5

We needed time to get the snaps to work before we were able to begin assembly, but once we did, it went fairly Having a deck this size perfectly suits our backyard, which is why we bought One thing that is problematic is that the legs are so short and that there is a bar that makes it hard to retrieve the finished compost. You have to lift it on a platform if you are going to dump it into a bucket or tray. The hole is so small that shoveling from it won't work since the bar that runs through the middle cuts right through the hole. That seems to be the sort of thing they would have considered. Depending on how much compost I want, I would have used an old To date, we have deposited the compost into a shallow tray that slides beneath the composter. Thus far, everything seems to be working as expected. As time goes on, we will let you know if we find anything else.

I have been looking for one with the right size home and this one fits the bill
5/5

After moving across the country I bought another one of these, and this one fits the size of my home perfectly, and it also was incredibly easy to assemble. I think my 6 year old daughter assembled it many times, that's how easy it is!.

We are disappointed! Although it was easy to assemble, it was not straightforward
3/5

Snaps allow the panels to be attached to one another. There is a problem when you add items to the chamber to compost, the chamber comes apart where it is snapped in place. It is a product I wish I had not bought. If you decide to go ahead with the purchase, I recommend you glue the panels together or drill holes in the plywood and use.

I like the smaller size so that I can actually turn the tumbler
5/5

This is my second composter, and I prefer it to be sturdy and just the right size. Overall, it is a strong and sturdy product that I was able to assemble with little difficulty. One problem with the door is that when it is open there is nothing to prevent it from sliding off and onto the ground, so I will add a stopper of some kind to prevent this.

For small gardens, this composter is a solid piece of equipment
5/5

In response to her desire for a composter, I purchased this one for her. We are very happy with how it has worked. The stand is sturdy and can be assembled quickly. It held up well all summer long even when it was filled with people. It should be possible to have nice compost for our garden by this summer. As I wait to see how effective it is, I am excited.

I recommend that you don't buy it if you plan to fill it more than 70%
3/5

After a month of owning it, the legs that support the bin bent and broke. I would have given it a 5 star review otherwise. This is the first time it won't spin I recommend that you don't buy it if you plan to fill it more than 70%.
