Selected User Reviews For The Essential Living Composter, Worm Composter (Black)
In addition to watching videos and reading reviews, I did a lot of research online. The best model out there for indoor use is this one, as well as the smallest, easiest to use and most affordable. There have been a lot of comments about how "it smells" or "my worms went free" etc-and the people in those reviews aren't using the product correctly. Do your homework and you can achieve your worm farm goals and your worms and vegetables won't escape though you can't just throw some veggie scraps inside and hope for the best without understanding how to properly keep your worm farm healthy and anaerobic. So, to wrap it up, I live in a small one-bedroom apartment, and I have worms inside my apartment, and neither my apartment nor worms stink! I love the scent, it's like being in the middle of a forest! I am growing my own lettuce and flowers on my outdoor balcony using the composted dirt I'm creating from grocery waste and brown materials. The worms are happy and working on breaking down the greens and browns. Honestly, I love this product so much I'm going to buy another-but you should do your homework and read the FAQs online and watch YouTube videos to learn the do's and dont's before purchasing. There are many things to keep in mind when composting. Whether your worms are happy, making progress, and thriving is not the fault of the product, that is the fault of the user.
I like it a lot! Within two minutes, the frame was assembled. There is no need for tools. The first two nights and days I recommend leaving the top off the bin and a light on to keep the worms inside. Of course, you'll have to rescue several of them and put them back into the bin afterwards. It is helpful to use a tiny postcard because these suckers wiggle wildly. The second batch of worms I received a week later all stayed inside the bedding. Collect rain water to moisten Microbes thrive in an environment such as this. As a result I had lots of worms escaping into the bottom of the working bin. I would also recommend lining the bottom of the working bin on the inside AND underneath. Other than that, the troops settle in for two days and start In the bin, there are already little baby worms. A second one should be on its way.
It was a little confusing to follow the instructions. I found them to be very sturdy and well made, unlike some I've seen before. As a result of the confusing instructions, it was set up in the bottom tray by mistake, but once I got it, it puts out a wonderful display.
I like how durable it is and how well it's built. In the photo, you can see how easy it was to get the bedding ready. A neighbor that was moving and needed to rehome his worms was very fortunate to share them with me. The animals are doing well now that I have taken them in. The rubber doesn't have a strong smell, and there are no worms or mites to worry about. I would just add that it does attract fruit flies, so we moved the unit into a shady part of our backyard for now, and we have only brought it in during bad weather. Keep an eye on the filter because it can easily become clogged, so the spout is a great way to collect worm tea. much easier than taking lots of things to our big compost pile and waiting months to use them Rather than wasting money on waste, we decided to invest in this tray. We need to figure out how to buy another or two trays.
I love how easy it is It wasn't clear to me whether the valve at the bottom was open or closed, so I had yuck come out of it. However, we can fix it quickly. I turned it into a closed box.
It has been sitting in the bathroom of my guest house for over two There has been NO fruit fly problem nor nasty smell for me at all. My worms seem very happy in this container! It keeps everything in place and it keeps everything neatly inside! This product is made of high-quality plastic and all of its features work as they.
