Because I live in San Diego, I may not be familiar with the concept of heavy wind. However, even though the wind was strong enough to knock some plants and objects over, the awning held up well; it comes with a rope to roll it up. It was put together by my handyman. As a result, it rolls or folds back in on itself. I just haven't given it a shot yet. I hope this has been of assistance.
Yes. The color is more of a tan beige with green stripes. The back of my house has a very appealing appearance. I'm glad I came across them.
The bottom of the awning is level with the top of the window casing, so I mounted it that way.
It has a gleaming metal frame. These are fantastic awnings. It was well worth the money. It is simple to set up. FRED

I've only had this awning for a few days, but it's already over the return window. This is a terrible, cheesy, low-cost product that has faded quickly, despite the fact that we have only had a few sunny days in Seattle. Amazon sellers are ripping me off, in my opinion. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It is of dime store quality and should not be sold, let alone with a return window that closes faster than you can return it. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE I spent more than $120 on two of these drecks, and they're all but worthless. To make matters worse, they're next to each other, installed on the same day, and one has faded even more than the other.
So we did what we always do and closed the blinds, which didn't really help. Because blinds are located INSIDE the room, they heat up when exposed to the sun, so don't be fooled; heat still enters the room through blinds. With an awning, the sun is blocked FROM THE OUTSIDE, keeping the heat out and allowing us to remove the hideous blinds that were previously blocking the view. So now there's no raging Sun and a clear view out the window. Awnings are extremely common in Spain, and now I understand why. I'm in ecstasy right now.
I bought a similar awning from Aleko almost three years ago and all I needed was a replacement canvas because the old one had faded. I couldn't find a new canvas option, so I figured I'd just buy the same one and use the canvas instead. What a difference a couple of years can make. The new canvas is a complete waste of time. Yes, it's Sunbrella, but it's Sunbrella that's almost transparent. The Aleko logo has vanished, and the stitching has deteriorated. This one will not last as long as the one I previously purchased. Unfortunately, there are only a few options available, and while it is still a good product for the money, don't expect too much.
I'm not sure how this product managed to get so many good reviews. Do not attempt to install the retraction pulley system because it does not work. The awning fabric is thin, and the stitching appears to have been done by a child. Because the awning material is not securely fastened to the frame, it hangs loosely and appears cheap. When the wind blows, the entire frame moves around (due to the pulley system's inability to retract it properly), requiring you to go outside on a regular basis to reposition it. If they didn't use the low-cost Velcro fasteners, this wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, I purchased three of these and did not install the first for two months, so I am unable to return the remaining two.
As other reviewers have pointed out, the fabric used to make this awning is similar to that used to make patio umbrellas, which fades quickly and tatters in the wind and weather. The one I got also has some shoddy stitching in the corners on the front. The frame is well-built and simple to put together. The hardware is also of good quality, but the top clamp pieces' design places the clamp bolt UNDER the awning material rather than OVER TOP of it, making it a clumsy adventure to put it up and strike it for the winter. I also used number two. Instead of the thin screws and anchors provided, 5 inch deck screws were used to mount the hardware. "That'll do it. " It's not something you should count on for a long time. Mine is above a window in a small space between two houses, so it's hard to notice unless you're looking for it from the street in front. It does exactly what I needed it to do: block the morning sun, lowering the temperature in one room while also preventing the sun from bleaching the furniture in that room. I have pro heavyweight awnings on all of my other windows and will install one on this one once I have the extra $700!.
Our newly renovated 1960 ranch house in Florida looks fantastic with the awnings. They provide shade for our three west-facing front windows, making the interior spaces much more comfortable. Drilling into the block house proved to be the most difficult part of the job. We were able to install the awning without difficulty, despite the fact that we are senior citizens. I believe you will require two individuals.
The design of the product is excellent. My issue stemmed from the fact that I didn't know what to order. For a high-end dog kennel, I ordered a 6 x 2 foot burgundy awning. After a few weeks, I received a box labeled "7 pounds," but inside was a towel hanger. The box was two pounds in weight. I assumed it was just a misplaced package, but when I took it to UPS to return it, I spoke with someone from Amazon, who told me the date the delivery was made. That was the day the awning was supposed to arrive, but it didn't. As a result, I had to order the product again while waiting for my original order to be refunded. I put the product up when it arrived and it looked great, so I decided to order another. However, the website stated that there were no more available. As a result, I ordered the green 2 x 6 foot one for the other dog kennel. My wife said that would be unattractive the next day, so I attempted to cancel the order, but it had already been shipped. So I had to return it and order the burgundy 2 x 8 foot size (which luckily fit). This was the first and only time I had a problem with an Amazon order. Then you send me an email asking how I liked the green one.
The first time I went to it, I had to use a raiser blade. Allow an hour for installation, and start low so that if you need to raise it, your holes will be beneath it.
