Questions & Answers

am in love with this waterer when it is working. Most of the time it stays in my brooder after draining. These chicks seem to be perching on them. Is there something wrong with my approach?

The valve sounds like something tiny has gotten stuck inside it. If the gauge is cloudy, you can use a small amount of water to clear it. To do so, put your arm into the water tube and move the silver valve part up and down with your fingers. If you lift the tongue on the outside, the blue portion of the tongue will appear. After that, simply rinse it out with water and it will be good to go. A second method would be to unscrew your cup and take the metal pin out of the side, then give it a good wash and reattach it This screw goes into the bottom of the glass.

Is the water able to freeze in In that case, what can be done to address the situation?

When it gets cold (if you live in a freezing climate), the valves on this type of drinker will freeze up. It is possible to use a dropper style drinker from Royal Rooster in freezing conditions if it is used with a submersible aquarium-style You might want to give it a shot.

How deep would this be if the runner duck were to wet its nose or beak ?

It will be perfect for my silkies and my frizzle polish girls. No ducks for me, but I do not think it would be sufficient. In the shallow wells, birds must continually pull levers to fill them all the way up unless they continue to put pressure on them. Furthermore, ducks have short bills and their long ones are rather long in comparison

This waterer is intended for use in cold weather, but what happens during freezing temperatures?

As yet, I have not placed this outside during a winter, but I am positive that During the winter months, I plan to put fresh water on the ground every day.

I love this waterer, but there are some improvements that might be needed
4/5

My chickens have access to this waterer in the coop where they live. The chickens seem to have figured it out quickly, and it seems to be working well. Although there are a few things that could be improved, overall this is a good site. The waterer is installed inside the chicken coop, and I have to take it out to refill it and check how much water is left in It would be wonderful to be able to see the level of the water. Perhaps there should be a glass on the outside? Furthermore, the full waterer does seem quite heavy, and the PVC pipe of the body becomes extremely slippery when wet. A rope loop was added to the top of the bag to make it easier to carry, but why not include it from the start?.

Chickens with a limited level of intelligence will love this
5/5

The silkie chicks were unable to figure out which waterer was a nipple waterer or cup waterer that had to be pecked in order to release water. I appreciate the fact that the water stays in the cups all the time. During the fall of the blue float, the cups fill with water. The water doesn't go to waste, and the environment is kept clean. They were able to start using the system right away, with no leaks or issues.

Be careful not to put weight on the drinking cups as they are delicate
5/5

Due to leaking and watering my floor, I had to remove an 11 gallon watering system made of 4" pvc with nipples from my coop. We have them installed at various heights and are very happy with It's a simple matter of taking them off the wall every week to scrub and disinfect them. The water can be rinsed and refilled every day, and there will be no more wet floors in the With the help of vitamins, oregano oil, garlic, or cider vinegar, I can easily take care of my birds' health.

Chickens need plenty of water
5/5

Here's how to provide it. As a chicken owner, you probably know how difficult it is to ensure your hens have enough water. A system that is open to the elements will get dirty quickly. The chickens' scratching and pecking behavior leaves stuff all over the place. A lot of that ends up in the water. It is best to keep their water as clean as possible at all times for their health. The small footprint of this waterer minimizes exposure to contaminants outside the coop. It can conveniently be used in the coop because it reduces internal contamination. My vest has been using this now for a couple weeks, and I have not had a leak. I will update this review if that changes. I do not believe we will encounter any problems with this product given its price point.

This product was an instant hit with my Cochins. I hadn't mounted it yet and they were determined to investigate the red cups with the blue floes. The training does not need to be undertaken.

This is a great Waterers designed specifically for backyard chickens are much better than regular ones
5/5

There are now three of them and they do a great job This is a pair of tube feeders of the same I really like that they work so well! In addition to three coops, we also have a Vineyard area that we run our chickens around during the day and they use it all the time. They're easy to keep clean - and we keep it topped up with water when we need it. Using water to wash them will do. Only downside is the fact that mine is in a shady area and hasn't been bathed in a while There were a few little black mold spots in the bottom of the tub that were a bit difficult to clean. applesauce in it and let it sit for awhile & That helped a lot) They seem to be better than anything else we've used & This is a worthwhile purchase. I just wanted to let you know Your hens won't learn anything new about the Red Cups because there is always a small amount of water in them. In the end, they should get the water in the cup and bring it back As soon as the birds put their beaks in the little red cups, a small lever releases more water, so the cup is always full of liquid.

This is a great product
5/5

I have purchased several chicken waterers in the past, and this is without a doubt the best. In comparison, other waterers develop algae inside after only a few weeks of use and, frankly, are so difficult to maintain. There's no confusion with this one, it's easier to clean, and it's much easier to In addition, it takes up less space in a chicken coop given that it is hung from the ceiling rather than placed What is most important to me personally is that the waterer stays clean for longer periods of time. As it rests on the ground with a cover, the water is less likely to get dirty or the dog's poops in it. Purchasing this along with other chicken feeders in the same brand/style I already own is a great idea. Our six chickens each get two of these.

There is a defect in the product
3/5

I was excited about setting this up, but one of the holes that the cups connect to is not threaded, so the cup would not attach no matter how many times I tried to twist it. This product disappointed me as I bought it to hold enough water while I'm away on vacation, so I'll have to come up with a faster solution. Though I love the concept of these, the price of returning a broken product is a bit prohibitive.

Waterer of a great quality! A very easy to clean material that can be used on almost anything
5/5

I'm happy to report that I have found the best waterer yet! The other chickens quickly followed their lead after a couple took to it immediately! It is very easy to clean, doesn't take much space in the coop or run, and is very convenient. Clearly, a good deal for money considering it will last a very long time due to its long life span! I found the form to be very easy to fill out. This is definitely worth a try. The customer service is excellent as well. The best a person can ask for.
