A great deal of water pressure is likely to be a problem. The water was still leaking everywhere even if I just used gravity.
Do exactly what the pictures show. There is no seal to apply. It is not advised to screw the screw all the way in that will simply strip the threads that the screw makes So long as the bucket/container is thick enough, you should have an excellent seal if you go 3/4 of the way in at least.
How a bucket is mounted impacts how the bucket functions. Hang it close to the bottom if you want to hang it The half-way point 3/8" *br>I put my bucket on a plastic crate so I drill at a depth of about 2", so they can easily reach it.
tried them on a 5 gallon bucket and they worked great. I'm not sure if they will work on a trash can however

It is sturdy, low in cost, and works As soon as my chickens were two days old, they learned to use their vertical nipples. The nipsles on my water bucket were getting dirty and some of them I'm going to use them on a bucket I just bought. They appear to be sturdy. When I showed them, they were able to figure it out within a few seconds. I prefer these to the vertical buckets because they go on the side of the bucket instead of the top. In that case, I can set the bucket down both before and after it's filled. A bucket with an old design always had this issue. You are not told what size drill bit to use anywhere in the user guide. Following the recommendation of another reviewer, I used a 5/8 (which I had in my toolbox, so I could use it right away). You need to push HARD while you screw them in if you do that. There is a chance I may never have the same fingers again. These chicken nipples seem to have been made for the same type of bit, an 11/32 bit. The rubber o rings do not need to be used on these ones because the screws are really tight.
This 5 gallon bucket waterer is perfect for chickens.
I've been using them for years. Despite a lack of lids, I was able to attach three buckets very The seal does not need to be installed (I see that this is asked a lot). I did have leaks but by making a small hole at the top this was solved. Putting buckets above or hanging them will reduce the chance of the chickens bending over so much. As a chicken owner, I was worried they wouldn't get it at first. But it only took a few seconds. Had I known chickens are attracted to red, I wouldn't have worried so much. I purchased the product for a good price and there are no more leaks or dirty water after using it.
Two packs of these failed on my first bucket, and 6 of them did not work the second time. I find that the bucket is empty every once in a while because the pin for draining the bucket has been left loose by a spring popped out. Additionally, some of these were installed into a pvc pipe, using the bit recommended, and four of the cross pieces came right off of their threaded bodies. It was just a simple matter of placing them by hand and tightening them to the point where they were upside down. One of the other brands I bought here was a little more expensive. I installed them on a bucket about two years ago, and the only reason I had to make another bucket was because the bucket broke. Sadly, these aren't worth the price and are too soft.
It's true, I love these nipple waterers as much as my birds do. It takes them only a few minutes to learn how to use the machines, and they keep the water clean by doing so. There is a short life expectancy issue with these creatures. Oct 27, 2019 was when I purchased my last batch of 20 nipple waterers. The date is January 28, 2020, and there have been five bad pills. Silver nipples fell out of the red housing after the birds pulled them out.
Clean water is one of the great benefits of this system. It threaded right in without sealing tape or needle sealant when I used my 5 gallon bucket and a 5/16" drill bit. After the chickens didn't catch on at first, I kept putting almond butter on the nipple until they realized what I was doing. It wasn't necessary for me to buy 20, but they were cheaper, so now all of my friends do! This is an incredible.
It's on a sales advertisement on Amazon where the instructions are listed as part of the product pictures. I found the installation instructions very easy to follow and the process went smoothly. I was pleased to see the chickens take advantage of the waterer for the first time yesterday. There should be no confusion. The design of these is much better than the Nipple It would be more comfortable on the chickens if they used it. Then start typing. Because I do not have instructions on how to install them, I have not been able to install them. If I get some and am able to see how well they work, my review will be updated.
This is the 5/16 bit that I used. My buckets were white food grade, but I bought the lids without rubber seals so there is no possibility of them vapor locking. There is no guarantee that it will work. Nothing leaked from any of them. In each bucket, I put five. It took them no time at all to figure out how to get to them. Since I have been using a steel watering fountain for years, I have changed or drained dirty water constantly on a regular basis, especially in winter when I put it in the coop to keep it from freezing. would appear to be the most effective method of providing clean water to them. Additionally, there have been no leaks.
