Mine is used to spray herbicides selectively. I bought this to replace another brand because it is more comfortable to wear and has a smoother, more efficient pump action. I honestly would have given it 5 stars if it didn't leak a little from the spray tip when under pressure but not when the trigger was engaged. The company was gracious enough to send me a replacement trigger assembly, but it did the same thing as the first. If it weren't for the fact that I frequently have to transport the sprayer in my car, the leak wouldn't be such a big deal. Herbicide dripping onto my vehicle's seats or floor is something I don't like.
It's a farce to provide customer service. Purchased in April of this year. It was only a year and a half long. The pump has been working fine for the past year, but it will no longer pressurize the tank. A rebuild kit (181567) was nowhere to be found. Finally, I discovered it for $11 on the manufacturer's website (The fountain head group). It cost $18 to ship when I tried to order it. Some O rings and seals are priced at 95 cents each. As a result, I made contact. This sprayer is said to come with a five-year limited warranty. When I contacted the company, they requested that I empty the 4 gallon sprayer after each use. No way, I use it three times per week. My warranty will be voided as a result of this, I was told. When I pressed them on the issue, they conceded and said they'd send me a rebuild kit, but I'd have to pay $8 for shipping. I assure you that there will be no problems. At the end of the call, the unhelpful girl on the other end informed me that the kit would take at least a month to arrive. After that, it's goodbye. Unless you're being deliberately "unhelpful," nothing takes a month to ship.
I took the sprayer out of its box and began inspecting it. Before I attached the wand, I pressed the handle, and liquid sprayed on the floor. After that, I went to the reservoir to see what was there. There were small drops of liquid inside the walls as well as on the inside surface of the cap. There was no odor to speak of. I examined the box and the tape on the box, and found no evidence that it had been used and returned. The manual was read. It stated that after use, the sprayer should be allowed to dry out before being stored (after cleaning); otherwise, the sprayer may be damaged. what? I'm not sure if it was subjected to a factory test with water and was not properly packaged, or if it was used and returned. I aired it out and will put it to the test with water. If it doesn't work, it's a waste of time. It will be returned to you.
It was awe-inspiring on every level. It was a piece of cake for this sprayer. It took me just under three hours to finish spraying everything. Originally, all I had was a Lowe's hand-held one-gallon sprayer, which would have taken at least half a lifetime to spray everything that needed to be sprayed. I ended up using every chemical I had in the garage in the hopes that they were still usable. If not - I'm going to spray again because of this machine and only because of it. She was kept in the garage outside. It's not hot at all. I gave her a thorough cleaning with only water, and that was the end of it. It has made me very happy. I've only used it ten times, but each time it took me several hours to spray everything for everyone.
I wish I had switched to a bagpack sprayer years ago. This device has saved my life, as I no longer have to walk back and forth to the hydrant. The majority of the reviews claim that it only takes about 6 pumps, but this is completely false. Because you have to pump it a good 9 to 10 times, I gave it four stars instead of five. Even so, after a few sprays, you'll need to pump some more. That's the only criticism I have, but it's well worth the money simply because of its convenience and the amount of water it holds. If I had to, I'd buy another one because it's not that bad.
I bought this product last winter to help with weed control in my vineyard, but I didn't even open it until March. I read the reviews before making a purchase, but my experience was quite different from the majority of them. Yes, you can prepare 4 gallons of herbicide and fill the tank according to the instructions, but the pressure in the tank drops so quickly that you can only dispense the liquid for about 20 seconds. After that, you must remove it from your back and pump it for another 20 seconds. I can only see it working if there are two people, one spraying and the other pumping every 30 seconds or so. It might be better for spot weeding than for covering large areas, but then what's the point of having a 4 gallon tank? Anyone want a useless 4 gallon sprayer that I purchased and returned within Amazon's return policy time?.
This sprayer arrived yesterday, and after using it for the first time, I must say that I prefer it to the one I was borrowing from a friend, which costs more than twice as much. It was a breeze to "put together" this one. To mount the handle, you simply need to decide which hand you want to use to hold the sprayer and which hand you want to use to pump. It can be changed, but it's probably best to put it up once and forget about it. The main sprayer tip sprayed evenly. I fiddled around with it a little to get the spray I wanted. Depending on your application needs, the unit comes with a small baggie containing additional spray tips. It appears to be well-made and simple to assemble and operate.
This sprayer can withstand far less pressure than a model I bought years ago that was even cheaper. As a result, you won't be able to spray large areas as quickly as you'd like. Plastic is also used for the sprayer wand and nozzle. If I had it to do over, I would choose a nicer model.
