Questions & Answers

What is the difference between 190328 and 190328?

Field King MAX 190348 Backpack Sprayer is a more powerful version of the Field King Pro 190328 Backpack Sprayer. The Field King MAX 190348 upgrade options are as follows: 1) Chemically resistant poly lining on a 21" stainless steel wand. 2) Padded harness with back pad and lumbar support, as well as adjustable shoulder straps, a waist belt, and a chest cinch strap. This backpack harness ensures that you're protected from the elements at all times. While you're at work, you'll be able to relax and enjoy yourself. 3) To make storage easier, fold the pump handle away. Both backpack sprayers have a built-in No Leak Pump that prevents liquids from leaking down your back. The internal pressure chamber can reach 150 PSI, allowing for a 30 foot straight stream (depending on the chemical being sprayed). They also have Viton seals for chemical resistance and dual filtration to keep them from clogging. So, I own a pest control business and I'm looking to expand by adding a back pack - Is there a pco that uses this, or do you have any other ideas?

Hello,br>To help beautify your outdoor areas, this unit is ideal for use with cleaning solutions, disinfectants, stains, sealants, fertilizers, herbicides, and fungicides. There's nothing in the documentation that says it can't be used to control pests. Thank you very much! br>

Is there an agitator built in, and can this be used with wettable powders?

There is no unrest. It's a backpack that you have to carry by yourself.

Is the regulator for 25 psi included in this version?

It has a pressure regulator, but I prefer to think of it as a no-drip regulator because it prevents the remaining spray in the wand from dripping if the pressure drops below 25 psi. It also ensures a clean spray pattern, as most nozzles struggle to disperse the spray at lower pressures.

Beauty is defined by its level of excellence
5/5

Beauty is defined by its level of excellence. When it comes to manufactured products, quality and attention to detail are what distinguishes one product from another when the purpose determines the design parameters. The company's attitude toward customers is where the product's quality begins. The first thing that struck me was how many of the responses to questions came from the company itself. That shows that they are paying attention and are concerned about providing good service to their customers; I don't understand companies that treat their customers as if they are idiots and are rude or indifferent to them. The product accounts for half of the sale, while customer service accounts for the other half. br>br>The product was delivered quickly and undamaged. The beefy hose connecting the tank and the control handle was the first thing I noticed when I unboxed it. You did an excellent job. Then there's the SS wand, which has a built-in handle for easy transport. Awesome. The clips for storing the wand are a fine example of attention to detail. The rotating pump handle that allows it to be stored upright, as well as the snap strap that secures it! It's great to know that someone in the design department was paying attention. br>br>However, it is the harness that "pumps" my enthusiasm the most. How on earth can anyone sell a Backpack Sprayer without a full harness? How long can you walk around with 50 to 60 pounds on your back while wearing flimsy little straps digging into your shoulders? Those who sell them should be forced to walk around for a day in them! The tank is filled with bricks. Tractor Supply, are you paying attention? br>br>I'll start by spraying buttercup and broad leaf weeds in the horse's paddocks with the red nozzle, which produces a high volume of water. I apply a non-toxic spray. It is poisonous to horses, but it is effective against weeds. After that, it's time to spray the pastures. Thistle, Polk Weed, Amaranthus [Pig Weed], Milk Weed, and Stinging Nettle are among the plants that are harmful to horses. I'm overjoyed to have a sprayer that will get the job done without making me feel like the Marquis de Sade as I walk around the ten-acre property. br>br>This is a lovely product, and it will be even more so if it holds up over time. I'll be back in 6 to 12 months to report on how well the unit is holding up and any quirks that may have surfaced. I anticipate that the engineers/designers have done an excellent job and that it will perform as expected. br>br>[For those of you who get PO'd at work because you get one that leaks or has another issue, you should really think about it. First and foremost, NO company releases a complex product that is 100% on 100% of their units. There is no way. Even Apple, the much-lauded company, ships units with flaws. As do all manufacturers of mobile phones, automobiles, appliances, and computers, to name a few. The point isn't to give them one star and act irate, but to bring the issue to the company's attention and see how they handle it. If you're given the runaround, don't be surprised. When people lie to you, are indifferent to you, or are rude to you, it's time to give up a star and become enraged. But give them a chance to make things right, because if they do, they'll be gold, and a company you'll want to include in your "Top Companies" list. ].

Do you really want to carry a backpack sprayer around with you? This was purchased to spray weeds on my 14-acre property
5/5

I've tried it out on four different projects so far.
1. To kill the grass that grows in low-traffic areas, use Roundup on the gravel driveway. I can move around and apply to individual patches with ease using the backpack sprayer. This is far superior to ready-to-use products with built-in sprayers or a large pump sprayer on wheels - quicker, more thorough, and more productive
2. Trimec for poison ivy and vines. A tractor or ATV mounted unit would not be able to reach the areas that need to be sprayed, so there is no other option for this work.
3. Trimec on the Siberian elm saplings that are sprouting up all over the place. This has worked well, but I have so many that I think it would be more efficient to use an electric sprayer with a boom to douse the entire area, then go back and treat the plants that survive individually. br>4. 2,4- D is standing on the grass. Again, once I got into it, I realized I had so many weeds in my lawn that I should have started by spraying the entire lawn, which I could have done with the containers that come set up for hose end spraying. For follow-up on stubborn areas, the backpack sprayer would be ideal. br>br>As for the Field King unit itself, my biggest complaint is that the upper yoke on the front of the carry straps tends to ride high enough to choke me. The padded hip belt takes a lot of the weight off your shoulders, and the ability to continuously pump the handle means you can keep the unit pressurized for a forceful spray, reaching some distance if necessary. The pumping also agitates the solution in the tank on a continuous basis, ensuring that it is thoroughly mixed. br>br>I've only had it for about 4 hours. Spraying for 6 hours. I'm not sure how it'll hold up, and I've never dealt with a manufacturer before, but I did a lot of research on the alternatives and this unit seemed to have a good reputation for quality and design. It comes with a variety of nozzles, but I've only used the standard brass one so far. br>br>Herbicides and insecticides are now available in ready-to-use containers with built-in electric disposable spray mechanisms that are surprisingly effective; if you have a small job or don't plan on repeating applications, this unit is probably not worth the $70. If you already own an ATV, an electric boom or spot sprayer that fits on it might be a good option. A word of caution: handling this thing when it's full of liquid is a little awkward, and it might be too heavy for some people.

Amazing! It was well worth the money! You will not be disappointed if you pay the extra money for the Max Version
5/5

br>br>By far the best manual sprayer I've ever used! The quality is excellent, and there is no leaking on my back. Most sprayers have a plastic wand, which is inferior to the brass wand. With the regulator in place, the pressure is perfect. I prefer the horizontal tip, and I recommend purchasing some blue dye to help you mark your spray; it's easy to see through tinted safety glasses. If you want it to work well the next time you use it, please take the extra 5 minutes at the end of each use to pump some water through it. br>br>I only fill about three of them at a time. The back pack is heavy to pick up and put on, but it feels very light and comfortable once it's on your back. I frequently have to have someone look at my back pack to tell me how much liquid is left because it feels very light once you get under 2 gallons. br>br>The next day, your arm will be sore. It is, however, well worth the effort. br>br>I usually use a Stihl, but this is much less expensive and much more comfortable. I also prefer it to the Echo piston and diaphragm models, which I prefer to the Stihl models. D. Husqvarna manufactures the Husqvarna models. Except it's more expensive than Smith/Field King. br>br>*When you receive the sprayer, it will have a few drops of liquid (water) in it; this is simply water left over from when the product is tested at the facility for quality control* I called and inquired about it.
