Questions & Answers

How do you know if the wand is leaky?

Since I have a lot of weeds in the area, I use it quite a bit and I've had it for about 4 years now. As I've never had a problem with the wand leaking, I suspect she didn't snug it up As far as I can tell, none of the other commenters had a leak problem

What is this kind of valve? Is it piston or diaphragm?

Thanks for dropping by, An electric piston pump is built into this backpack. We invite you to contact our Customer Service Team at 1-888-561-0680 if you have any further questions. Please dial 800-552-1222 From 950 to You are welcome to ask any question you like.

How does the sprayer work? Is it motorized or does it require a pump?

It is imperative that you You spray by pushing a lever on the side as you push it up and down. It's a simple process of building up pressure in the tank and maintaining that pressure with a pump.

Is there a limit to how high it can My siding has a high gable on two stories so I need to spray wet & forget on it. Thanks a lot! ?

Is the pump spray still available? Did you buy it? The World Wide Web also looks appealing to me I give my house a F because it's a two story gable. Send me an email to let me know how it went.

It fulfills the purpose you have in mind
5/5

WATCH THE VIDEO AND READ THE The product was a gamble, but I did a lot of research before undertaking the purchase. I am glad that I took the risk. I like most things I have bought on Amazon so far. If you read the instructions, you will be fine. The product works much This product is good for the fact that it comes with a strap to attach to your back instead of having to carry it, pump it, spray it, and move The design was greatly enhanced by the addition of back straps. The fact that we are quasi-legal It is amazing how much easier it is to estimate how much spray is left when there is a see-through. With the product, users are given two different spray nozzles (both are very easy to put on). Using the wide jet was the best choice for me. Oh my gosh. This is the best idea I've ever heard. When I need to spray around a perimeter, I use the Ortho handheld sprayer. It takes me a long time to treat my property and garage with it, but the results are great. This machine has a position storage device built inside of it, so I transferred the Ortho into it and the problem was resolved. Using the wide spray jet, I was able to finish the entire property (including the porch and garage) in less than a third of the time. Although I know it seems like I am bouncing from thought to thought in this review, I am working on a break and trying to be honest with this.

The shoulder straps of the tank were not reliable, causing the tank to fall over As of July 1, 2015, I possess a Chapin 61500
3/5

It has only been used four times. I keep it inside, clean it after every use, and keep it clean. Using a four-gallon jug, I lifted it on my shoulder and filled it to four gallons. My first shoulder strap snapped as I reached for the other, and the tank fell and cracked directly onto the concrete. Chapin support never responded to an email I sent them on May 7, 2018. Today (5/21/18) I sent them an email again Once I hear back from them, I will let you know. This product is not a good recommendation for me.

There is no way for the leak to happen! The backpack sprayer doesn't leak chemicals down my backside thanks to the spout placement at the top and no parts on the bottom that screw open or are removable
5/5

The design on this is great and prevents leaking with no parts on the bottom that screw open or are removable. The spray works very The only complaint I have is that I do not have any. To anyone who might be wondering, I am an average-sized woman, and I am very uncomfortable carrying 4 gallons of water. 3 gallons weighs too much for me to carry on my back on my own. If there are 3 gallons in the backpack, I need help lifting it off. I can carry 3 gallons fine, but I need help lifting the backpack onto me if it has It is possible for me to lift two gallons The bigger 4 gallon one though is a great choice because it is awesome in the first place. Second, you'll be able to handle a larger load if you need to. I don't think you'll be disappointed with it - it's so well made. I am ETAing The basket that collects debris must be left in the unit to keep it leakproof. As well as being a gasket, it is a Make sure the enclosure debris basket is used before attaching the lid! 2) It still works fine.

There was a problem with the ON / OFF valve
3/5

It worked great for the first few weeks after I bought it. After that, the on-the-job training began There was a problem with the off valve. When the ON worked, but the OFF would never close, we would have to manipulate it every time. You could also click the ON but it would not turn Several "O" rings seal the valve, which is controlled by a plastic handle. An O-ring seals the valve, while several "O" rings seal the handle. There is nothing complicated about it, but it doesn't work. Don't buy! **** Do not buy! Please read the following PS In the past 3 years, I used it twice a year and was careful to wash and allow it to dry before storing it.

This is a nice sprayer at a great price
5/5

It has served my old Solo 4 faithfully for 12 years, but now it's time to retire The bottom of the gallon backpack sprayer developed a leak where all the fittings and the pump are connected together. Consequently, I was sprayed with Roundup on the back of my neck as a result. The situation is very frustrating. As it is a very complex and difficult thing to disassemble (I had to cut away part of the plastic frame in order to access the pump), after two hours of struggling to get at the various components, I finally was able to get to the pump. After failing to restore it, trying to contact Solo customer support, and replacing it on my own, I gave up. My ability to fix almost anything is usually pretty good. This is a surprise to me, how much the Solos now cost, and I am surprised by it. I bought this Chapin for $100 so I got it for $50 and have sprayed about 6 gallons so far with it. The Solo does the same thing at over $30 less and the bottom of the tank does not have liquid fittings that will leak chemicals down your back if you let them. In the event that I need to replace a seal or an O-ring, the unit will be much easier to maintain You heard it. Right now, I'm very happy with it. I don't know if it will hold up for 12 years, but right now I am.

A great product that is economical and works perfectly! The review is delayed simply because I bought this in February, but it has basically been over for a while already
4/5

As far as working properly goes, so far so good. appreciate the fact that I never had a problem with it. Neither leaks nor clogs were found, and neither was the pump malfunctioning. After use, I was diligent in cleaning it well and only used weed killer one year in a row. As I have not tried anything else, I am not sure how that would work. As far as I was concerned, it worked very well. I would only have a problem with the fact that you have to pump it up quite often, but I would expect that with any pump. That's at least one thing that's easy to accomplish.

I cannot comment on how "I wore" the backpack because, as I said, I carried it strapped to the seat of my golf cart. Reaching over and pumping the unit and spraying as I moved was not hard at all. suspect that the unit is not particularly comfortable to wear at all, and it's very heavy, as one would expect for a unit containing 4 gallons of liquid. Even though I hadn't put it on to try it out, I did put it on once just to see what it felt like. The weight of the item makes it difficult to load on your back and awkward to move around. My personal opinion is that I wouldn't be willing to wear it for very long when it's filled to capacity, unless you could make the straps (and add a skyhook) more comfortable. My boss thinks I should get rid of the straps altogether since they get in my way a lot and I don't think I will ever need them for back carrying. My entire life I have used the cheap 2 gallon sprayers, and this is the first "upgrade" to them. Since I've never owned a more expensive model, I cannot compare it to others of the same price range. But, this unit is way better than the cheap one. There is no doubt that it is worth the money. This is a good book.
