There are a couple of options. One possibility is that the ballast has failed or has become obsolete. Another possibility is that the bulb is the incorrect wattage for the appliance. It's possible that water has gotten into the unit, causing the bulb to fry when it's turned on. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do! I may be able to provide more personalized, specific assistance if you provide me with more detailed information about the setup.

I've had a TetraPond UV Pump for about 7 years and have bought a few of these bulbs. They are dependable and functional, lasting approximately 1 1/2 years depending on usage, and are excellent at removing algae buildup from your pond. My pond has a diameter of approximately 20 feet and a depth of approximately four feet. a depth of 5 feet br>br>It takes about three hours. It takes 5 days to clear the pond of algae buildup, depending on how bad I let it get, and it stays clear all spring and summer. When the UV pump is running, I rarely need to add any chemical additives.
I returned it to you.
Every year, I had a pond company open and close my pond for me. They claimed that the UV light bulbs were extremely costly and delicate. For years, they were overcharging me. I decided to handle the UV light and storage, as well as the opening and closing of my pond, after they dropped a pond vacuum in it and shorted out my electric, not to mention the fish I lost. Yes, I was a sucker, albeit one who was busy. Goodbye, Doughtery's Pond Center. Goodbye, money. My fish, on the other hand, are still alive.
The water in the pond is much clearer, and the amount of green algae in the pond has decreased significantly. I've tried a lot of different Algecide, but this one is by far the best.
After two weeks, I decided to leave. I'm not sure if it's the bulb or if there are other issues, but it didn't come loose in the big box. The box had sustained some damage. Hawaii is where I call home. It would have helped if there had been better packaging. Good. By far the best price. The bad. It's possible that I've priced myself into insanity because it's no longer working. You get exactly what you pay for.
When my filter failed and the water in my pond turned green, I knew I needed to replace the UV bulb. In just a few days after I changed it, the water was crystal clear. I ordered a few more because they make the difference between a pond that I can enjoy and one that I can't.
I would never buy a light bulb from Amazon again. The product's condition could not be guaranteed because of the flimsy packaging. It's a UV sanitizer light bulb, and I can't tell if it's on or off. I'll spend more money elsewhere to get a better product and shipping packaging.
