I use one bottle of diluted liquid Cutrine Plus to treat my 100' x 200' x 4' deep quarry, and I throw the mixture around with a 1 gallon juicer at first, then it disperses itself throughout the quarry. br>When I threw algae in, I saw it react almost instantly. I only put it in one side of the quarry, and it quickly spreads. The transformation is so striking that I've had swimmers over the years willing to pay more for the quarry just to see the crystal-clear water. The water is crystal clear. I had a problem with red algae in 1994 and didn't know what to do about it. I had a professor from Lehigh University and Muhlenberg College look at it and analyze it, but she couldn't come up with a solution. In a conversation with a man about selling me a tank with sand as a filter, he asked why I didn't just use this product, which I had never heard of before but was correct; I called their tech department and followed up from there, and I've never been sorry. Cutrine Plus is a highly effective and safe supplement.

It's not a good idea to do that. Treat each section of your pond or lake separately. Only treat half of the pond's surface at a time; in hot weather or when dealing with heavy growth, only treat 1/4 of your pond at a time and wait the full 14 days before re-treating. applying. During hot weather or when treating heavy growth, this helps to reduce the risk of fish loss.

When the temperatures reached 85 , about 40% of our pond became covered in thick mats of algae. br>I have a 15 gallon sprayer with a 30 foot range, and I was told to mix 1 gallon Cutrine with 9 gallon water. I also added 22 oz of Cygnet Plus as a surfactant and sprayed along the shoreline before spraying the rest of the pond out in the middle with a jon boat. The algae was dead within 24 hours the first time I sprayed it, but I've had to reapply every time I see regrowth. The product, on the other hand, does its job admirably. br>While it didn't bother our turtles or fish, I've been told that Koi and Trout are extremely sensitive to this product. br>However, the packaging in which the jug is shipped is terrible! It was just an over-sized, flimsy box with no bubble wrap or paper, and it cost twice as much. The 5 gallon jug arrived in a damaged box. The jug's seal has broken, allowing the chemical to leak into the box. Not good!.
I've had good luck with Crystal Blue when used at the recommended dosage. I gave it a shot and ended up using four bottles instead of the usual two. Crystal Blue in a 5 gallon jug. I wouldn't believe it had been put in the pond unless I had put it there myself. This stuff also behaved strangely. It turned into dye ribbons that didn't seem to mix with the water. They lingered for a while before dissipating into oblivion. Crystal Blue disperses into the water almost immediately, with no strange ribbons float around. I liked the idea of being able to focus completely on one thing while not having to deal with a 2. It comes in a 5 gallon jug, but it isn't super concentrated when exposed to air. I put in 4 gallons and got a color that was barely discernible. As always, 5 gallons of Crystal Blue adds a lot of color to my pond. You'll save money in the long run if you spend a little more on Crystal Blue. Purchasing this item actually cost me twice as much because I now need to return to the pond and add some real colorant.
I sprayed it on and used a surfactant to help it stick, but if you only use 1 part water to 9 parts water, it won't work; you'll need a stronger mix, and it'll turn algae whitish for decomposition. It is extremely beneficial when there is rain. 1 part water to 6 parts water is a good starting point.
Very good outcomes. This product was used in conjunction with Crystal Blue Plex Mate surfactant. The pond algae turned brown and vanished in a matter of days. These products have exceeded my expectations.
However, the Applied Biochemists 390225A Cutrine-Plus has failed to control the algae in our pond. Even though I applied it to the surface as directed under ideal conditions, I only got very minor results.
Our pond is now completely clear. Algae had taken over our pond, which was a blessing in disguise.
On my 1/3-acre farm pond, planktonic algae is a persistent problem. During hot weather, I spray 2 gallons of Cutrine Plus Algaecide at a rate of 24 oz per gallon of water at the first sign of an algae bloom. The algae dies and the pond clears in about a week. After a few days or weeks, the algae blooms again, and I repeat the process. Long-term solutions are something I need to think about more carefully. Perhaps an aerator and/or some beneficial aquatic plants are in order. Cutrine works in the meantime, but it's only a band-aid. Yes, it is effective as an algaecide. Is it effective in preventing algae from reblooming? No.
