Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this product in a fish tank outside?

In a pond that measures 9 by 11 feet and is 2 feet deep, I use this product once a week. It's fantastic! I like that it only takes a little to use and that it lasts a long time. I'm sure it would work perfectly if your tank had some kind of running water that made a splash (for extra oxygen, bubbles) similar to a waterfall. It doesn't have to be much; simply slashing water with a hose while adding the product will suffice.

I have a bottle of this that I left in my garage over the winter by accident. Will the product be ruined by the months of subzero temperatures?

It isn't a problem in my opinion. Despite the fact that I live in an area of Arizona where sub-zero temperatures are uncommon, We had a couple of frost warnings this winter due to the cold temperatures. I keep my bottle of Beneficial Bacteria outside, out of the elements but still exposed to cold. Every time I used it on my pond, it worked perfectly. My pond has remained clear since I started using this product - There is no algae in the water. At this time of year, when many plants are blooming, I add a small spoonful to the pond every day, and it works well.

Why is it for a pond that is completely dry? Is it suitable for a normal fish pond?

It's a dry powder designed for a fish pond.

How many CFUs does this product have per gram?

I no longer have the container, but according to another website, it contains 1 billion Colony Forming Units per gram (CFU).

You'll be glad you did! I'm the kind of person who reads reviews all the time but never writes them
5/5

I had to have this product because I bought a house with a pond a year ago. I didn't realize there were fish in it because it was so bad. ya. TWENTY of them, to be exact. I've gone to the pond store more times than I care to remember (usually in tears of frustration), and I've spent so much money that I have to stop myself from counting because it makes me sick to my stomach. We've drained it three times, installed new liners, aerators, a fountain, a new pump, a new filter, plants, and diligently placed every product recommended. only for things to revert to their previous state. I decided to get this as my final dollar/effort before filling in this money pit (that may be a little dramatic, but that's where my mind was at the time). I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF FOR DOING SO! It took about three weeks to complete. But believe me when I say that I am not exaggerating. WHAM! I awoke in the morning. It was like a miracle, so I even included my texts to my boyfriend.

Seal has been tampered with yet again
3/5

bought the item and returned it a second time since, although I wasn't made to feel the "For your protection" seal, and I was ignored when it was shipped to my house. Then I turned to the odds and decided what would be the probability of another incident. Purchase this item directly from the company.

HYDROPONICS WILL LOVE IT! This stuff is fantastic for your hydroponic setup outside
5/5

This was recommended to me by a university in Canada to populate the water with beneficial bacteria to out compete the bad bacteria around the root stock. I currently run dutch buckets in Tampa, FL, and the biggest problem you'll run into during the warmer months is pythium and root rot, among other things. This also aids in the breakdown of naturally occurring dead organic material, which if left unchecked can cause problems. It then converts it back into a carbohydrate that your plants can use. br>br>Last but not least. It's almost too cheap not to take advantage of. I use about 5 grams of nutrient swap per 50 gallon of water, which is probably excessive, but it works! When compared to a Botanicare Hydroguard of this size, it can treat 8000 gallons of water.

Expiration date is not present
3/5

I went out and purchased one. lb bottle with only "Rev 7/18" printed on it (despite the fact that the date was obscured by a white piece of paper tape indicating that it was a new product and a bar code). Because I couldn't find the expiration date, I had to return the 1. bottle weighing one pound I got one that was a little smaller - This time it's an eight. ounce. The 8. 's expiration date has passed. The bottom of the 1. ounce bottle was printed, but it was missing. I had received and returned a pound bottle.

Excellent product! Not only is it great for ponds, but it's also great for hydroponics! Keeps my roots white and pearly
5/5

br>br>FAIR WARNING: It specifically states that you should not PH afterward. So, if I were a hydroponic grower, I'd lower the PH to 5 (because this powder raises the PH). Drop a small amount in there around 5 o'clock. Prepare yourself because a little goes a long way! It'll soar to a very high altitude.

The greatest investment I've ever made! This is the best stuff I've ever used in my 20 years of pond maintenance! This year, my water was the clearest it's ever been, and I credit it to this miraculous substance! Of course, you should keep an eye on your fish and plant load, but this bacteria is also beneficial
5/5

It's super simple to use and doesn't have a strong odor like some of the other products I've tried. I've been telling other pond keepers about it.

Maintains the cleanliness of the nutrient reservoir
5/5

1/16 teaspoon per 10 gallons is the amount I use. Keeps my air stones and reservoir clean and slime-free. Works like Hydroguard, but costs MUCH less and has a LONG shelf life (Hydroguard must be used within 6 months of opening). br>At 1/16th of a teaspoon per 10 gallons, this will last me a LONG time.

My 4000 gallon fish pond had become so dark and filthy that I couldn't see my fish any longer
5/5

My friend suggested that the beneficial bacteria might not be working properly, so I bought this product and followed the instructions. It didn't take long for my pond to become clear once more. I'm so happy I purchased this item.
