Questions & Answers

Is it effective at removing nitrates in a pond or aquarium?

Small, frequent water changes or living plants in the pond or aquarium are the most effective ways to remove nitrates.

I have a hot tub and need to reduce the amount of chloine in the water - Is it okay to use this?

It's just sodium thiosulfate, which is the same ingredient in most hot-pot sauces, so I'm guessing yes. Dechlorinators for bathtubs are used to remove chlorine from the water.

Is it possible to use it to reduce the amount of chlorine in a pool?

We only use it in our ornamental pond, but it does not specifically state that it should not be used in swimming pools.

Is this something I could put in my pool?

No - You want your pool's water to be chlorinated so that chlorine can be removed.

One of the most important aspects of maintaining the health of our Koi pond
5/5

We have a fairly large Koi pond with nine fish ranging in size from 6 to 24 inches. Our pond requires ph adjustments or the addition of an enzyme to combat sludge from time to time. Another crucial aspect of maintaining a healthy pond is to ensure that any chlorine is neutralized before adding any additional water. This item fulfills that requirement. We simply add a few capfuls of API pond chlorine treatment to the pond whenever we need to add water. This product removes chlorine and other heavy metals from "city" water. I can safely add several inches of water to the pond with this product without causing harm to our fish. Also, compared to local pet stores, the Amazon price is a good deal.

BUYING IS A MISTAKE! When my previous chlorine neutralizer ran out, I decided to purchase this product
3/5

> 4- I followed the instructions on the printed page. After checking on them after 5 hours, I discovered that my sanke and showa were gasping for air on the surface, so I immediately transferred them to a stock tank. (not new tap water) I tried aeration to revive them, but it didn't work! BUY THIS ITEM AT YOUR OWN RISK!.

Pond upkeep is necessary
4/5

Great for changing, refilling, and refreshing pond water with live fish and plants, especially if you use city water. My one gripe with Amazon shipping is that it isn't fast enough. First and foremost, A plastic bag was used to wrap the bottle. order two- Only a cardboard box contains the bottle. Because this is a liquid product, the first order bottle leaked slightly. A must-have item is a plastic bag wrap.

This isn't going to work
3/5

This has been added to our koi pond several times and has had no effect. We have small algae particles that pass through our filter pump, so this product is a waste of money. This product claims to bind the particles together and cause them to clump together, allowing them to sink to the bottom. It was never the case. It's as if we filled the pond with plain water.

I don't buy any other neutralizer
5/5

I like how concentrated it is and how long it lasts in the pond. I'm guilty of failing to test the water in my pond, but it appears to be effective - After changing the water or adding water, I have no problems.

It's a fantastic product, and it's a fantastic product! A second bottle is on its way to me! Today's delivery of the second bottle is complete
5/5

Throughout the season, I frequently perform partial water changes. If the water in the pond is green when I open it in the spring, I simply drain it down to about 2 inches. After that, I use hose water to fill the pond. For my pond's size, I use the appropriate amount of API Pondcare Chlorine and Heavy Metal Neutralizer. br>br>In addition, if the algae gets ahead of me at any point during the season. I do a water change once more because Algae Fix may not be safe for the fish in hot weather. Algae products reduce pond oxygen levels, putting fish at risk. It's so simple to do a water change and add API Pondcare Chlorine and Heavy Metal Neutralizer to your aquarium. If you don't want your fish to perish, you'll need this product. Make sure to include some API Pondcare EcoFix as well. There's no need to stock up on a variety of items. These two items will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and health of your pond. I only purchase additional products on rare occasions, but I do so every year for these two items! For the past 25 years, there have never been any issues and only great results. Have fun pondering!.

It does exactly what it says
5/5

When I change the water in my 165-gallon water feature with comet goldfish, I use this. After a few water changes and top-offs with city water, they're all still alive, as long as they're used properly.

The best value for money
5/5

The best value for money. It dechlorinates more gallons than any other dechlorinator on the market. However, it makes no mention of amonia. You're safe as long as you have good biological filtration in place and don't overpopulate or overfeed your fish. Regardless, kordon amquel plus reigns supreme.
