Questions & Answers

It was one week ago that I used it for my pond. The ammonia concentration ranges between 0 and 100. 25 to 1. 00, Today's ammonia level is 4. 00 Is this something that happens all the time?

Ammo lock does not reduce ammonia levels, but it does make ammonia non-toxic. When used, it can be harmful. The ammonia level in your system is currently at 4. 00 is extremely high, and because of the high stress levels caused by high ammonia levels in your pond, it may compromise your fish's immune system. Please keep in mind that your fish should only be fed once or twice a day in small increments, and that the food must be consumed within the first 5 minutes or less; left over food will result in an increase in ammonia levels, as well as runoff after a rainstorm. Please ensure that your filtering system is adequate for the number of fish in your pond as well as the pond's capacity. Bio balls should be used in your filtering system to capture bacteria. I hope this information is useful, and best of luck:

I just opened a new bottle of pond Ammolock, and instead of the usual clear color, it has a yellow tint to it. Is it permissible to employ it?

Yes, this is perfectly normal. API Ammo- The color of the lock can be clear or yellowish.

Will using Ammo-Clean help to prevent green water because of high phosphate and ammonia levels? Is your pond water cloudy due to an abundance of fish waste?

I mainly use it to deal with the high levels of ammonia in our water, as well as fish waste. I also vacuum to get rid of the waste; however, I don't believe it will clear the water; instead, I use a filter system.

When ammonia is used, how long does it take for it to be reduced?

Ammo- Lock converts ammonia to ammonium rather than removing it.

For the past seven years, my husband and I have kept koi. We've upgraded over the years, and now we have a 10,000 gallon pond in the back yard, which I'm in charge of measuring water quality, treating the pond with chemicals, and keeping an eye on the koi's health. The equipment is under my husband's control. I've learned that one should never rest on one's laurels. Testing your pond on a regular basis is essential. The testing kits from API are what I use. I've used a lot of API's products and have always been pleased with them. br>br>When we upgraded, we first got a system off Craigslist (which was a bad idea), and then we were able to save up enough money to get a really good system. We made the mistake of combining the old and new systems (a bad idea). For a while, everything was fine until we had an ammonia spike so severe that three new koi died before we could figure out what was wrong. We discovered four things through trial and error, as well as money. To begin, we discovered that the system off Craigslit had been poorly modified from a pool system (bastard) and had ammonia buildup. It's most likely why he wanted to sell it in the first place. Our new system was able to handle the additional load until it was no longer able to. Second, we were unaware that the water pressure in the pipes leading to the good system was excessive, and the clay did not have enough time to thoroughly clean the water. Third, because the pressure was so high, the clay was dissolving, resulting in an increase in ammonia and a decrease in the amount of clay available to filter the water over time. I was to blame because I became complacent when it came to ammonia testing. I wondered how that much ammonia could accumulate in that much water with that many fish and that much filtration, especially since we had never had an ammonia problem before. It was non-existent whenever I tested for it, until it got to the point where we were lucky we didn't lose any more koi. Water was changed on a regular basis as well. The fourth issue was that we were unaware that our county had begun adding ammonia to the water, so every time we changed the water, we were reintroducing ammonia, even if at a lower level. So, if you're having problems, check both your water source and your pond. br>br>We used a lot of ammunition-- We'll keep it locked until we've figured out what's wrong and fixed it. Ammo lock binds to ammonia and creates a non-flammable environment. Ammonia in its most lethal form. It will take some time for your pond system to clear it out, but it will not be toxic to the fish in the meantime. It's the next best thing to a complete water change (with water that isn't already contaminated with ammonia). When you test your water, it will still show that it has a high level of ammonia because it does (in a non-toxic way). a poisonous state). Without ammo, I'm sure we'd have lost a lot more koi. lock. br>br>So we got rid of the old system, added more piping to lower the water pressure, more clay to the filter, a Cyclone to remove fish waste so less ammonia builds up, and the county started using less ammonia, so we don't have to use ammo lock as often. Regardless of the situation, I test the ammonia on a regular basis. So, until you can figure out what's causing the ammonia, I strongly advise you to use this product.

The Amonia in the fish pond water was unaffected by this product
3/5

This product was suggested as a good way to reduce amonia in fish pond water. When I tested the water after following the instructions on the bottle to the letter, there was no change in the amonia reading. Even after all of the kois have died, I continue to treat them. I cleaned the pond and started over, and I've been using this product until the bottle is empty, but nothing has changed. I'm still on the lookout for a good product.

3/5

The only issue is that it neutralizes the ammonia rather than eliminating it, so the test kit readings will remain high, leaving you with no way of knowing whether the free dangerous ammonia is too high or not. I simply assumed it worked because the fish stopped dying and swimming in a erratic pattern.

This is a fantastic product that does exactly what it says
5/5

Directions on how much to use are simple to follow - Just make sure you know how many gallons your pond holds. When used as directed, it reduces ammonia levels as claimed.

How long will the ammonia levels be reduced after using this product? Ammonia levels in my pond are around 0
4/5

25, I was hoping to reduce it to 0 with this product, but after using it, the ammonia level rises to 1. Ammonia levels drop to zero after I change the water. I use it again at number 5 and then go up to number 1. I'm just curious how long it will take for the ammonia levels to drop after using this product. Because it causes ammonia levels to rise from 0 to 1. 25 to 1.

My koi were fed by a neighbor while I was out of town for two weeks. OVER fed. The pond had a serious ammonia problem. Over the course of a few days, this took care of the problem quickly. Water was so bad that I had to use it twice. I'd suggest it. Pay attention to the guidelines.
