This is the third time I've purchased it for my miniature pond. It will last for one year. No more than two years. I'm not sure why there are so many positive reviews with photos of large ponds when this is only 7x10'. There's also one with workers in there with huge stones, which I'm pretty sure would tear up this liner. What you pay for is exactly what you get. If you don't mind re-reading it, that's fine. It's fine to clean your pond once in a while, but it's not going to cut it for long-term use.
It's not too heavy. Getting a hole is a piece of cake. Yes, the price is reasonable, but the material is so light that it can be torn apart with your fingers. It didn't last as long as I expected. In just one week, I was able to drill a hole. This could be useful as a liner for small pots or decorative items. However, if you're working on an outdoor project, this isn't the place to be. It could be pierced by a bird. It would be destroyed by critters. I had to replace it with a 45mil heavy duty liner made by Firestone. That's some amazing stuff. It's more expensive, but even if you hit it with a spade by accident, you won't get a hole.
I bought about eight or nine of these "pond" liners. And certainly not for the purpose of constructing ponds. I slanted the ground around my house so that water would drain away from it. After that, I laid these liners down and covered them with 6" cobble stone to hide them. Our basement flooded during heavy rains, which was a problem for us. The liners will have two functions: one is to direct water away from the house, and the other is to prevent grass from growing up and through the cobblestone. And yes, that is our newest little ham in the picture. Please excuse the leaves on that lovely cobblestone; I haven't had the opportunity to clean them up yet.
It is simple to set up. This was put in place to replace an 8-foot tall tree. year- The old pond liner had finally started to leak. Rather than replacing the old liner, I added more sand to the bottom of the space and then installed this liner on top of it. Although this liner is a little thinner than my previous one, the mesh reinforcement is visible, and it appears to be quite durable. I tried tearing a piece with my hands, and it was extremely difficult; I expect this to last for a long time, but no liner product will be able to withstand the elements and extremes of Missouri indefinitely. My decorative pond is working again, and I'm pleased with it.
Any backyard pond installation will benefit from this liner. It's big and nice. It was the perfect fit for my pond. It's been in place for a little more than a year and it's still going strong. In my pond, I have ten turtles and a few fish, and they all seem to enjoy themselves. Working with it was a breeze. There shouldn't be any wrinkles or stiffness. It's soft and pliable, and it's simple to spread out and place in the pond. This was to replace an old pond liner that had developed holes after about 9 years of service. We first cushioned the hole with an old piece of carpet, then I cleaned, dried, and patched the old liner before laying this new liner on top. So far, we've all been pleased with the lining.
This pond liner is very attractive. It's 16, I believe. The thickness is 5 mil. It's also reinforced with nylon strands. It has a powerful feel to it. It arrived in good condition and was simple to unpack. It blended in nicely with my pond and was simple to work with. I'm very pleased with it, and I believe it will last a long time. It's a big hit with my ducks and geese. I've shared a few photos, but my pond is far from finished. However, it has been filled with water for over a week and is working perfectly. I wish the water fall, as well as all of the plants and rocks, were present. My pond is 14 feet by 9 feet by 2 feet deep, and there is plenty of liner to do the job after I get the liner in place and work everything to fit together nicely. After that, I'll post another photo as a follow-up.
I needed a liner for a pond project, and this one worked out perfectly. It's thick and tough, and it's been holding up well so far. Since taking this photo, I've added some stones to the side and other items to hide the plain black. This year, my goal is to construct a larger pond with a mini-waterfall. I've already purchased a larger liner from this brand and would recommend it to anyone looking for a long-lasting, easy-to-use liner.
