Questions & Answers

Is this applicable to ponds that have been prefabricated? Patches that would work in 20 minutes were once carried by Maccourt. no more. ?

I haven't decided yet. It's fairly adaptable, but it might not work if the crevice or crease is too deep. I don't have a preformed liner because I have a pond liner. I used a combination of the patch and FlexAll spray sealant, and it worked out beautifully. Best of luck!

Is there a primer in the kit?

There is no primer in this kit, but it does include 2 feet by 6 inches of fully cured self-adhesive vinyl. EPDM rubber patch with adhesive. Clean your liner with a solvent wipe, a scrub sponge to clean around your hole, a seam roller to roll over the rubber patch after it's been applied, and a disposable glove.

What is the patch's measurement? What are the dimensions of the space?

My husband has already applied the patch to our molded pond, so my measurements are far from exact. He estimates that it was approximately 8 inches wide by 16 inches long. It did a fantastic job of repairing our pond!

There are a few small holes in my epdm pond liner. I can't get rid of all of the calcium deposits. Is this product going to be able to close up the holes?

It is necessary to keep the liner clean in order for it to stick for an extended period of time. An abrasive sponge is included in the kit for cleaning and roughing up surfaces. clean up the patchwork area I've discovered that the patches only last about a season and must be reapplied every year. I had more success with flex-fit clothing. small-hole sealant

Patch kit that is well made
5/5

I discovered a 7-inch tear in the wall of my rubber-lined fish pond and decided to repair it with this kit. It comes with everything you'll need to perform a successful repair. I was concerned because the liner around the tear needed to be cleaned, and I was concerned that the patch's adhesion would be affected by being submerged for 12 years and covered in algae. I dried the area, lightly scrubbed it with a plastic abrasive scouring pad, and then wiped the patched area with the cleaner/prep pad that came with the kit. I used scissors to trim the large patch, peeled off the back, and pressed it in place. It clung to the surface almost instantly and firmly. Because this patch can't be removed or repositioned once it's been pressed in, make sure you get it right the first time. I also fixed a small pencil-shaped hole. sized hole with a small cut patch, which worked just as well. I'm very happy with the outcome and would do it again in a heartbeat.

It's fantastic! So this was a simple solution to a major issue in my pond
5/5

I would have fixed my pond much sooner if I had known that. My 6x10 ft pond liner was punctured by several antler punctures caused by a stupid deer that fell in. The diameter of each hole ranged from 1/2" to 2". There was enough patch in this kit to patch every hole, with enough left over for a few more deer to fall in (but let's hope they don't!). Here are my suggestions, listed not in the order in which you'll need them, but in the order in which my brain generates them, so don't use this as a step system. My one piece of advice, which I got from another reviewer, is to cut the patch into a circle to cover the hole. There are no possible lifting corners as a result of this. Though, to be honest, it's about as foolproof as it gets. Even with corners, nothing should lift due to the excellent seal. 2 Find all of your holes and fill them in at the same time. Because the alcohol pad is small and can't be reused, if you discover another hole the next day, you'll have to clean it in a different way, as I did. which consisted primarily of a paper towel and rubbing alcohol. It's not a major issue, but it's worth mentioning. 3 Scrub away all the gunk with the scrub pad until you're left with a bare liner. I wouldn't put my trust in a Seal when it comes to algae. Make use of the roller that they provide. It may appear to be useless, but it works 5 I agree with someone else who suggested allowing the patch to warm up in the sun for a few minutes. The patch I put on on a hot day stuck better than the one I put on on a cool day. Note that the one I used on the cooler day DID adhere, but it didn't seem to want to at first, so I just kept pressing and rolling until it did. Also, it's a great deal for the price.

For the time being, it's holding up, and it's simple to use
4/5

I finally drained my pond, caught all of my blue gill, and began pressure washing the pond to see where it was leaking after becoming tired of refilling it. In my liner, I discovered four holes as well as some deep scratches. One that my pinky could fit through. I have rock in the pond but none in the water, so I'm not sure where they came from, and my liner is a thick LLDPE, so punctures are unlikely. I put it through its paces with a phillips screwdriver before installing it in a corner, and it's pretty tough. br>Once I had located and marked them, I began cleaning and patching the holes one by one. Cut your patches in a rounded shape, if I may offer some advice. Corners that are prone to lifting will not be lifted as a result of this. I broke the roller trying to use it, so toss it and use a firm, rounded object instead. br>I can now hold 3300 gallons in my 16X21X3' pond without any problems.

Adhesion is a fantastic technique
5/5

The Cofair EPDM Pond Liner Repair Kit did an excellent job. During the winter of last year, several of our stones were knocked into our pond. I wasn't sure if the area was really torn or not when I drained my 3 foot deep pond to get all the stones out of the bottom and clean it up, so I filled it just enough to cover it and let it set to see if the water would hold, which it didn't. So I went online to find a fix and came across the Cofair PLKIT Tite Seal Kit and read the positive reviews, so I placed an order online. As soon as the rain stopped for a day, I followed the directions, which were simple to follow. I cleaned the area with wipes, then applied the patch over the tear and rolled it in all directions to ensure it was well sealed. After a few hours, I added some water to the pond and let it sit for a few hours to ensure that the patch was completely sealed. The following day, I filled the pond with water, which it had been holding for a few months. For ponds with liners, I would strongly suggest this product.

Patch Kit is fantastic
5/5

In July of this year, I purchased this set for the first time. My pre-made hard plastic The crack in the newly formed pond was quite severe. I followed the instructions for applying the patch and it worked perfectly. I started losing water again after two years. It was most likely the patch that was failing, I reasoned. When I drained the pond, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the original patch was still in excellent condition. It looked exactly the same as it did when I first put it on. I did, however, discover a new, much larger crack. I was concerned because it was located in a curved section. I reordered this kit and took great care to thoroughly clean the area. If it has algae or other contaminants, I recommend scrubbing it thoroughly before following the kit's instructions. This new crack was quite long and forked off as well. I was worried, but the pond has been refilled for several days and I haven't lost a drop of water. I can't say enough about how easy this kit is to use and how effective it is.

It's very nice; works
5/5

I have a 20-year-old pond on my property. I went away for a month and returned to find it was autumn. The pump melted a hole in the liner as the pond dried up. The liner appeared to be fiberglass at first. After further examination of the hole, I concluded that it was made of a thick black plastic. When I first read the instructions, I had no idea what I was doing. I had no idea what the purpose of the cleaning pad was. I assumed it was to buff up the liner so the patch would stay in place. The purpose of the cleaning pad is to make cleaning as easy as possible. If I'd known, I'd have gone with something like a scotch bright. I cleaned the area before applying the patch and rolling it over with the roller. I probably spent about 5 minutes on this. I waited two hours before filling the pond. It really works. I was simply exaggerating a minor issue. Excellent product that is simple to install.
