In a nutshell, I have used the tool and this is what I have found A total of 31 holes were dug over a 6 week period with this product. 30 of those holes were hit by rocks, so I had to purchase a jack hammer to finish them. It is a great tool to use if you only have to dig dirty dirt, such as clay, or if you have to dig in clean soil, and you do not need to worry about it plowing through rocks or concrete. You need a tool that you can start and run when doing work like this. Using this tool, you can perform that task. Even when I set my post hole digger down to clean out the hole with the post hole diggers, I left my machine running most of the time. There will still be a need for post hole diggers to remove the dirt from the holes. My original purchase was an 8" auger, which I then upgraded to a 6" auger.
