The extended auger drill bit length and 3/8 inch steel shaft with non-slip hex drive 3/8 inch, 2inch diameter x 30inch length allow for garden planting work without bending or squatting. I just dug a dozen holes in the lawn, most of which are 2 feet deep. The job put my 1/2" drill and my strength to the test because there were rocks beneath the surface, but the auger performed admirably. The shaft could be sturdier because it wobbled when stressed - However, it did not slant. br>Even if the auger breaks the next time I use it, I'll give it a five-star rating.

I'm too old to dig holes with my hands. Walk along the path and drill holes where I want them, then return to place the plants and cover them up. With the rocky soil, it jumps around a bit, but it gets the job done.
