I wouldn't recommend using it without spray because it's largely useless. If you fill even a small crack it will take a long time because 1) the wood needs a really long time to dry and 2) most of the resin will soak into the wood during that incredibly long period of time. It will take days to accomplish what can be accomplished in just a few minutes using quickbooks Setting epoxy takes a few hours, and regular epoxy takes a few days. With the activator spray (and by the way, it doesn't have to be the expensive Starbond spray), however, it can be truly amazing. Once you've applied it, sprayed it, removed any big globs of it, and sanded the rest, your job is It looks fantastic and is very simple and quick to make.

When I found the product, I decided to try it out because there was a knot I wanted included in the work. My favorite thing about it is how quick and easy it is to apply instead of sanding I prefer using a razor sharp chisel to trim the extra off. As I wanted everything to be perfectly flat, I used a chisel in place of sandpaper so the area would not be oversanded. The sand paper will work if you do not have anything else. I found the medium Thick to have just the right consistency, thin enough to soak into the fibers, but thick enough to not cause a mess all over the place. Just because I'm lazy, I try to do more with less, so I can be more effective. ) They handled my shipping issue and expedited another order immediately, and their customer service is pretty much the best I've seen I contacted them about a shipping issue and they handled the issue immediately. In 15 attempts to fill some tiny ambrosia bug holes, it became abundantly clear that it could not provide any fix. The coating just dries back to nothing and has to be reapplied. A drying time of an eternity was also an issue. It stayed wet even after I waited hours. A cure of epoxy takes longer than this. I guess you can squeeze out an entire bottle into a tiny void if you are willing to sit there and wait for a while. In any case, if you're like me and are paid by the job rather than the hour, you should look for another option.

Approximately 200 ambrosia holes were filled in a beautiful maple board for a table top with this product. After adding a small amount, hitting the hole with activator, and waiting for the hole to shrink, I did the same thing immediately again. I was very pleased with the results. Compared to other CA glues, it was sanded perfectly and left a non-sheen finish, which was perfectly coated with lacquer (in my case). Having to deal with black sawdust and CA must have been one of the most difficult (messy) things I've ever done. Do you think epoxy is a better alternative? I won't do it Compared to something like what I described, it is far superior. No doubt it will be equally valuable to me in my wood turning projects. The pair comes with a number of accessories. Plastics and rubber, as well as likely anything else, can be glued together. There are so many things I like about this. The glue I had been using to glue up my spare frames that were made of resin was a bit scary. Also included in the list was This is because those glues are brittle and would shatter. It's a damn shame I can't see them now after using the brown for the maple and doing it exactly as the video shows! I even did it twice and even sanded over the spots! I won't use this for filling large voids that's what epoxy handles, but I am amazed how well it blends in and I was sanded in the time it takes to mix epoxy much less mix sawdust and water-based For someone like me who isn't patient, a 10 second wait is fine. The glue also helped me glue up a MDF jig I made for the drill press, and I realized there wasn't a need for That's a great way to save time. This is the game for me!.

As a filler for small defects in my wood turnings, it works pretty well, but be aware that it takes longer to set up than other CA products that I use, mostly BSI products. As a result, it remains rubbery and not hard and brittle like My understanding is that it might eventually reach that state, but I did not test I can use it as long as I don't need structural support, since my use is cosmetic. I've also found that it is also more expensive per ounce than other brands, but it's one of the few colored CA products I've been able to find. While I have not needed to use the applicators or caps as of yet, they are nice to have.

It would definitely be closer to medium than strong, but I do love starbond adhesive because it works so much better than other brands. While I use the activator spray quite a bit, I would say this black glue crinkles a lot more than the clear when using the activator as I'm still at work straight now, and if you're using it to fill out your application, you're probably going to send it back to me afterwards. One of the best things about starbond glues is the detail tips that come with them. The next time I purchase, I will do so It was my hope that this was useful to you.
