Questions & Answers
Yes, as long as you paint the rock first, perhaps with a white or bright color, because the decals become translucent after they've been applied.
Inkjet printers are the only ones that can use it.
Nail polish is something I haven't tried yet. The polish melting or distorting the film would be a concern for me.
No, it can be hand washed if sealed, but it is not dishwasher safe.

It performs as expected and also projects the image by dealing it on the mug, preventing any ink from being rubbed off. I use clear krylon to seal the decals, then epoxy resin to cover the mug. Beautiful and ideal for stocking my Etsy shop!.
As stated in the listing, you must seal the ink after printing — this does not have to be done immediately, but it must be done before submerging in water and applying. They suggest using an acrylic clear sealer, which works well. I used a gloss clear lacquer spray from my local Ace hardware (Rustoleum) and got great results. This was simple to apply and waterproofed the print, allowing the backing to soak in water for up to ten minutes. After 15 seconds, you'll be able to slide off the table. The decal will dissolve into mush if the print is not properly sealed. Some of the negative reviewers, in my opinion, did not properly complete this step. A lacquer can costs $4, and there are two ways to use it. 3 squirts in 10 minutes 15 minutes apart (at least two quick sprays should suffice). My results are on par with some of the most expensive waterslides I've purchased from reputable vendors. From now on, I believe I will print my own. Don't be afraid to experiment with these!.
With trial and error, I had to use a couple of sheets. br> Before I use my transfer paper, I print my image on regular printer paper to check the size, then print it on my transfer paper if everything looks good. I had to add more than one sheet of paper to my HP Printer because it jammed if I only used one sheet of transfer paper. br>The quality is good; I just need to improve my color and/or image selection; the only issue with the paper is the number of sheets for the price; I wish the company would provide 7 sheets for the $8 they charge. It's a high-quality piece of paper. The paper has a good thickness, the sheen holds the color and image well, and the end result is fantastic.
It's far too thin paper. When submerged in water, it not only crinkles, but it also folds over and sticks to itself. I used my ink jet printer and let it dry overnight after printing it as directed. After that, I sprayed three layers of Krylon Triple thick crystal clear glaze on it and let it dry overnight. The words came off the next day when I submerged it in water. I was dissatisfied and thought I had squandered my money - Never to be repeated. In order to place and adjust the label, the paper needed to be thicker.
I followed the instructions to the letter. They aren't as hard and fast as some would have you believe. 1. br>br> To use the gloss spray recommended by Amazon, scroll down: 26412 Spray Gloss Finish by Aileene It has received positive feedback and is intended for use in craft projects. Despite what the package instructions say, the temperature reached 110 degrees Celsius. (At first, I mistook the temperature for Fahrenheit, but as you scroll down, the Amazon listing changes to "Celsius. ") )br>br>I used clear nail polish as a base and mod podge as a sealing gloss. Both of them had been painted. The color didn't run when using nail polish, but it did when using mod podge. My final result on a glass mug, however, was far too transparent. These decals appear to work best when applied to a white background.
Make sure to use polyurethane or rustol to seal the area. They'll apply perfectly to mugs if you use a matte 2x clear coat and let it dry!.
Rule #1: Take your time. Take your time; this was my first time using it, and I'll be honest, it's nothing like a rub-on tattoo. I wish I had purchased more paper because it was a lot of fun to work with once I got the hang of it!.
