There are no true left-handed scissors in this set. Typically left handed scissors have the blades reversed so the left handed person can see where the blade is cutting from the right side. These scissors have an ergonomic grip so they can be used by left handed people as well. LEFT HANDED SCISSORS ARE NOT REALLY LEFT HANDED.

For children with little hands, these scissors are great for the second stage. My 1 year old son and I started out using plastic safety scissors to practice gripping and to show him how real scissors would feel. Their intended purpose was not served by cutting much, but they accomplished the task nonetheless. Cutting with these doesn't accomplish much more than cutting without them. The paper can be held in his hands, and he can cut independently as long as he also holds the scissors, but if he holds only the paper in one hand and the scissors in the other, he cannot cut. Yet he still enjoys them very much and we use them frequently (with support from the company). Our plan is to use these for a year before moving on to a pair of really sharp scissors (not the tips but the blades).
As much as I wanted them to be the same as the ones you can purchase at the store, they seem to be much The child would struggle to open or close it because the handle is smaller and the blade is shorter than standard kids blunt scissors of the same brand. The kids blunt scissors come with two pairs, one opened and closed fine, but the other was too stiff for a child to work with. There is no consistency in the product. This is not the quality I was expecting from an inexpensive pair of scissor like this, but I was disappointed that it lasted less than I'm afraid I have no way to leave feedback for If I could talk to him directly instead of writing a negative review, I would. In considering whether I should drive to an UPS store to return a $3 product, I am considering the time and cost involved.

The ideal gift for your little leftie. This product is very worth the extra price. *Smooth cut and very easy to use. Lefties are able to use it as well. Excellent for new cutters as they do not frustrate them with junky scissors that are difficult to use and do not cut well. Use supervision with young children since these are sharp enough and will cut well.
