Questions & Answers

Has anyone had the experience of sharpening them and then not being able to cut afterward?

I haven't needed to sharpen them in a long time. Some knives and scissors require sharpening on both the flat and beveled sides; give it a try.

What is the best way to cut small details in paper with these?

I love using them for fussy cutting on cards. They cut around letters and images with ease. I don't cut small flower petals or hands, but for regular fussy cutting, this is an excellent purchase.

Do they have the ability to sew?

These are extremely well-made. Fabric will not be a problem because they cut through paracord. The blades themselves measure about 2 inches in length. I'm not sure they'd be a good fit for large-scale fabric projects.

How long has thelades been around? Is it capable of slicing through two layers of flannel?

Hello, the blades are numbered one through ten. 1/2" in length I was able to cut through multiple layers of felt with ease, and I believe they should be able to cut through flannel as well. I hope this has been of assistance.

Selected User Reviews For Westcott 6" Titanium Precision Scissors (1 Count, Yellow)

There Isn't Any Hype in the Other Reviews!   YO PARACORD, PARACORD PARACORD PARACORD PARACORD PARAC
5/5

I bought these specifically for cutting paracord because anyone who has tried to make clean cuts on a piece of paracord knows how difficult it is to do without the right tool or set of tools. A knife with a razor-sharp edge is usually used. a nice cutting surface that not only doesn't ruin your knife's edge, but also doesn't prevent you from getting a nice clean cut on your perty paracord!! And with that type of set-up, some paracord projects simply won't let you make a cut. Furthermore, if you're anything like me, you'll appreciate the fact that If you have bad hands, like I do because of a spinal cord injury, using sharp knives may not be the best first option, or even an option at all!
. So, after a long period of research attempting to construct- I'd made up my mind about a paracord cutting tool that would HOPEFULLY cut paracord in any condition, angle, or for any project, even if I was lying in bed (which I do a lot!). Reading the reviews for the Westcott 6 Titanium Precision Scissors was, honestly, the deciding factor for me among the few final candidates I had narrowed down to. I had no intention of looking for a comfortable ergonomic tool when I began my search, but I did find one! They're a breeze for me to hold. Not that cutting 550 paracord requires much force, but the way the scissors are engineered allows the user to apply far more force to the small cutting blades with far less effort than a typical pair of long blade scissors, which the user typically operates with three fingers. These should be able to cut leather as well as Parkay Margarine. Perhaps even as good as Butter! The user exerts minimal effort.
. This brings me to the subject of cutting paracord. WOW! I've never had anything that can cut paracord as well as these! As stated in the title of this review. "There Isn't Any Hype in the Other Reviews!" "
. I've included a short video of me cutting some 550 paracord. br> And. Yes, I'm a 49-year-old man with a collection of Mochi Glow in the Dark Animal Squishie Toys strewn across his workbench! Go ahead and do it. I'm certain of my love for Squishies! )
. So, I'm currently working on some Glow in the Dark paracord ideas for my 5-year-old niece's "6th" birthday party, which will be a BIG HUGE EPIC UV/Glow bash. I noticed the strange colored lanyard the blade sheath had while using my brand new Westcott 6 Titanium Precision Scissors under UV Light. In an unexpectedly cool way, a mysterious white capsule is attached to fluoresces. UV/Glow products are a HUGE FAN of mine! It has always been that way. For stuff I make for myself, I'm trying to find paracord that reacts with a POP when exposed to UV light.
. For those who are curious, here's a hint: Only the Yellow and Green are present. Under UV, I think pink "Glow in the Dark" paracord looks good. I've also included some photos of the unique lanyard. If you're curious, the yellow "Glow in Dark" paracord in the photo is what you're looking for.
. BUT THERE IS ONE MORE THING TO SAY.
. I'm not sure what the little white capsule in the middle of the zany lanyard is for. Is that a sheath for the blade?
. I came to the conclusion that these scissors are NO JOKE if your finger tip gets in the way. clean as a whistle!! So, maybe the capsule is a watertight(it has a seal) place to put your cleanly cut fingertip so it doesn't wrinkle up in the ice you put it in to keep it from wrinkling up on the way to the hospital to be sewn back on!
. Is there anyone else out there with a better suggestion?
. LOL! I'm sure it'll be one of those instances where the purpose is obvious. But DUH! It's right in front of my eyes!
. Okay, I hope at least one person will benefit from this review. I've completed my evaluation.

I Have Never Had Better Paracord Scissors! So, I bought these scissors about two years ago, and they are still as sharp as they were the day I bought them! My pair has been tested with my behavioral mental health youth group (a rough-and-tumble bunch of kids, so you know these scissors are tough)
5/5

The scissors are ideal for cutting exact lengths of paracord for bracelets. I make a lot of bracelets every day, and they all work perfectly. I appreciate the safety sheath in particular because some of my kids aren't always careful when they grab things quickly and reach for the blade. When they pull a fast one on me, there will be no accidents this way. br>br>I'd like to point out that these are also extremely comfortable for tired old hands. br>br>I've had a lot of paracord scissors over the years, and these are by far my favorite and the brand I recommend to my students in my paracord classes.

These scissors are nearly perfect
4/5

On November 20, 2020, I bought these scissors. I bought three pairs because I liked them so much. I've noticed that the scissors aren't cutting as well as they were when they were brand new in the last few months. They are something I use on a regular basis. I use paracord all day, every day because I make paracord dog leashes, bracelets, and other items to sell. I noticed the scissors were a little loose yesterday, December 22, 2021. When I examined the scissors more closely, I discovered that the hinge/pivot point was extremely loose, with about 1/8th inch of slack/floppy factor (to use a technical term). As a result, instead of five stars, I've given these scissors four. They aren't as long-lasting as they should be, in my opinion. I still have two more pairs of these that I ordered at the same time, maybe a day or two apart; if I had used them more frequently, they might have seemed more durable; the operative word here is "seemed. " These would probably get 5 stars if you weren't planning on using them on a daily basis. I hope you found this information useful.

Great cutting scissors with a lot of detail
5/5

These scissors are easy to maneuver around small items and are very comfortable to use. I use them to fussy cut images for cardmaking and they're great. There are no jagged edges like some of the more expensive name-brand scissors I bought.

Shears that are very nice and are reasonably priced
5/5

The paper is grabbed by the unique edge, which prevents it from slipping while cutting. I needed inexpensive scissors with small blades but not small handles to cut stickers to size, and these met all of my requirements. I prefer the lanyard to looking for scissors when I'm wearing it around my neck. I was blown away by the size of the handles, which are much larger than regular shears. It's a dream to hold. I'm very happy.

The price was well worth it! These titanium 6" scissors from Wedtcott are strong and razor-sharp
5/5

I thought I'd use them in a specific way, but they were far too sturdy. They are capable of so much more. The ad made a lanyard noise but didn't say anything about it. It's 32 inches long and has a blade that fits snugly into the end. I removed the blade cover from the lanyard because I preferred to keep it in my apron pocket. For me, it works very well. I'm using them to trim heavy seams in my sewing, but I should get another pair for other tasks, because sewing scissors are devoted!.

I really like these scissors
5/5

I have several pairs of shoes that I keep for various purposes. I even have a set in my vehicle. The cover for the blades stays on and can be easily removed when needed. I wore them around my neck while packing boxes so that I wouldn't have to keep looking for my scissors. My first pair had seen a lot of use and abuse, and when the blades separated a little, I assumed they were broken. I discovered that you can remove the button and re-tighten the blades to get them back to their original position. These scissors have even been given as presents.
