THE QUALITY OF THE CONSTRUCTION IS EXTREMELY POOR. The TI- Although the 84 plus ce is a fantastic calculator, it has a number of drawbacks. Many students are required to purchase TI calculators in schools across the United States, and any alternative would be difficult to use due to a lack of instructions in class. While this simplifies a lot of things, it also creates a monopoly on the use of school calculators. Design: br>br> This calculator is extremely slim and sleek, making it one of the most attractive and portable calculators on the market. Materials: br>br> The materials used in these calculators are dreadful; for nearly $150, you're getting a cheap, scratchable hunk of plastic. Given its price, I believe this calculator should be made of much better materials, with its terrible fingerprint-attracting screen and scratched front panel (mine came scratched). In the first month, two of the plastic bumpers on the back fell off due to the cheap glue used. Overall, I find the ti 84's build quality to be completely unacceptable.

I'm sure this is a good calculator, but I haven't delved too deeply into the features (though there is a steep learning curve). There are a few other problems with the product that make it difficult to use. 1) Who would have guessed that combining light blue and green on a black background would be beneficial? I'm unable to distinguish between the two colors that represent the second and alpha modes. To see the colors clearly, I had to use a flashlight, which you might not have access to in a classroom. It would have been better if you used a color that contrasts better. I was able to tell which key/mode I was looking for based on the location, which was blue in the upper left of a key and green in the upper right. The only difference is that the off button and mode have been switched. Simply put, it was a blunder. br>br>2) There is no such thing as a backspace button; you can go back with the arrow keys, then delete the character under the cursor with the delete key. However, a calculator that costs a fraction of this does have a backspace button. br>br>Overall, this calculator does not impress me. I bought it because it has more memory and can handle larger tables than my previous laptop. Stick with a less expensive model if you don't need to process large tables (more than 40 entries). This one is actually disappointing, especially given the price; what are you doing if you can't get the UI right?.

This is the most advanced calculator I've ever used. It's ideal for algebra in college, statistics, and pre-calculus. Calculus, calculus, and trig (from my experience) are all major game changers. It may not appear that the backlit display is important, but it is. It is capable of doing everything and has a very clear display. You can even program yourself to complete tasks. For example, I downloaded a program that allows you to factor equations. Simply enter the three values (for a, b, and c in the equation a x squared b x c = 0) and it will generate the desired equation, such as 3(x 1)(2x-1). 4)=0 completely stole that from my mouth, but you get the idea. CALC IS THE BEST. I previously owned a Casio FX 9570 gII, and this is significantly superior.

I'll be taking three math classes in a row, so I'll need a calculator to get me through them and beyond. I purchased this knowing that it was brand new and not a refurbished or renewed model. I went back through the Amazon page to see if I had missed anything, but I confirmed that I had purchased a "new" calculator and that it wasn't under the renewed page when it arrived and I opened the box to inspect the calculator. It's even labeled as new on a sticker attached to the back of the package. br>br>While it doesn't appear to have been heavily used, I can't give it more than one star when the package, calculator, and cords arrive in the condition they were in.

I was in desperate need of this calculator because I had a test coming up and my old one had broken. When I received the product, it was scratched and had fingerprints on the screen, as if it had been used. After that, I attempted to activate it. There was no action taken. It was just a white LCD screen with no information on it. I tried charging it for five hours, but nothing happened, and no numbers appeared. Nothing at all. I really needed one, so I paid more for it at Staples. The first thing I noticed about the Staples packaging for that calculator was how well it was glued in and tight, as if it were brand new. This one, on the other hand, was a breeze to get open. This is something I would never suggest to a friend.

It had been scratched, but I believe this was due to how easily it scratched. I was cleaning it, and I believe it got scratched even more. And I was using a microcloth to clean it. Everything else is in good working order, including the screen and the calculator. It comes with a carrying case, a charger, and a USB to USB adapter. It also comes with a user manual.

At $150 each, I bought two of these for my kids. One was delivered with the top cut off. This does not make me happy. I'm hoping it's still functional and hasn't been repackaged and used. Only time will tell if this is true. However, with that price tag and the expectation of brand new, I expect my item to arrive fully packaged. It should be noted that this package is difficult to open. It appears to have been cut open as a result.
