Questions & Answers

Is it packaged in a box or in a blister?

Hello. br>The FX-100's packaging As it comes directly from Casio, the 991EX that SchoolMart ships to Amazon for FBA shipments is blister packaged. However, because Amazon combines our inventory with that of other sellers, we have no way of knowing what other sellers are sending to Amazon.

Is there any rest (R) in it?

No, it doesn't work that way. On the fx-side, This is located above the fraction button, at 115ES. This model no longer has it. LCM, GCD, Recurring decimals, and Product calculation were all removed as well. Very sad.

Is 100% it really 100% it is 100% it ?

Yes 100 % original supplied by Casio Itself. There is a Casio label on the product, as well as a warranty card.

In comparison to fx- 115ES PLUS, as well as a variety of other brands
3/5

At first glance, it appears that fx- The 991EX appears to be an updated version of the fx- Plus 115ES. However, when compared to the predecessor, it has a few flaws: br>1) Functions that are missing: LCM, GCD, Remainder division, Repeating decimals, and Product Calculation - I'm not sure why these critical functions had to be removed, so this is a significant downgrade and disappointment! Furthermore, these features appear to be available on some foreign versions of the same calculator, so I'm not sure why Casio marketing decided to exclude them from the U. S. version. version. 2) Usability: br>br>br>br>br>br>br Numbers appear in a smaller font, making them more difficult to read; On the black, textured, and somewhat reflective background, the shift functions are also a pain to read. br>br>At the same time, the new model has a number of clear advantages over the fx-based model. 115ES PLUS, which includes the following: br>1) a much faster processor (which is obvious when calculating integrals)br>2) a new "QR" feature that can display graphs on your smartphonebr>3) a new "OPTN" button that can save you timebr>4) a separate "x" variable button that can save you timebr>5) an improved memory recall feature that shows all variables on one pagebr>6) spreadsheet modebr>br> This is by far the most important reason why I no longer use Casio at work. As an engineer, I'd like to be able to go back to the same formula I was working on after my calculator shut down due to inactivity. This should be the most basic feature in any advanced engineering calculator, and I think it's brilliant. It's perplexing that Casio's marketing department continues to overlook this. br>br>Other time-saving and useful features that I would like to see in future Casio calculators include: 1) a method of storing and recalling a few frequently used formulas, and 2) the ability to jump to the beginning and end of the formula, e. g. by holding down the Shift key Shift Left and Shift Shift Shift Shift Shif Right. br>br>If Casio addresses the issues I've raised, I'll gladly consider this brand again.

A fantastic piece of equipment marred by a few flaws
3/5

-According to the instruction manual br>br>"Please keep in mind: When you press "ON," when you switch to a different calculation mode, when you change the Input/Output setting, or when you perform a RESET operation, all calculation history data is cleared [. ]"br>br>"Important:"br>br>"Important:"br>br>"Important: Every entry into the spreadsheet mode is cleared whenever you exit the spreadsheet mode, turn off the calculator, or press the "ON" key. "br>br>- - - - - - - - - - Casio, are you kidding me? Is that all you have? br>br>This calculator has a lovely screen, is lightning fast, and has excellent mathematical abilities - Many scientific calculators are incapable of handling 4x4 matrices and 4-dimensional matrices. variable systems of equations, and it's more accurate than a ti-84 calculator. However, when it comes to usability, this thing falls flat: 36x for integrals, etc.

- When switching modes or powering off (which occurs automatically after 10 minutes), all history/recall, including spreadsheet data, is lost. This is pretty much a deal breaker for me, and I'm going to put this in the 'unusable' category. When your calculator runs out while you're taking a test, what do you do? History has passed us by. Do you need to work with matrices or vectors? History has passed us by. It's truly terrible.
- Only one calculation/equation is displayed at a time when you're in calculate mode. Although you can'rewind' and edit previous calculations (until you change modes, at least), it isn't a'scrolling' display. With the TI-84 Plus, you can cycle through previous expressions one by one on less powerful hardware. The fact that Casio can't do it on this clearly capable hardware platform is a little pitiful.
- I understand that it's very Casio, and I didn't include it in my rating because it's just their'style,' but I'm surprised that Casio still uses the archaic'mode' concept for things like complex numbers and vectors. Why aren't these features included in the main 'calculate' function? It would be less painful if the data from the various modes was retained when you exited them. Overall, I'd give this a four-star rating if it kept history between modes and after powering off, and had a slightly nicer history scrollback feature, and a five-star rating if it integrated functionality from the stats, matrix, complex, and vector modes into the main 'calculate' mode. br>br>Do all of that next time, Casio, and I'll be completely satisfied. You'll have a lifelong devotee if you introduce a solar scientific calculator with some basic CAS features (I don't care about graphing, and I hope you don't include programmability for the sake of NCEES acceptance).

For a non-professional, this is quite impressive
5/5

Calculator that can be programmed This calculator, I believe, is slightly superior to my fx-calculator. Plus 115ES. They are, however, strikingly alike. br>For a non-profit organization, this is a reasonable price point. It is a programmable calculator that has been approved for use in land surveying exams. The only real complaint I have is how light and slick it is. I wish it were a little heavier and had more friction to "stick" to my hand; even though it is very light, I believe it will hold up well, but I wish it felt like it could take a little more punishment. In the field, I use my calculators and have yet to lose my fx-calculator. 115 I anticipate that this calculator will perform similarly, but if it does not, I will update this review.
