Response from the seller: The light can be plugged into either the port on the lap desk (which requires four "AA" batteries) or the USB port on your laptop computer.
Because the desk top is solid (like fake wood), it appears to provide adequate airflow for a laptop. This is a fairly large desk that has served me well in all of my endeavors.
This was just delivered to my door a few days ago. It has a foamy feel to it, but it is extremely comfortable for me. Overall, I am pleased with this lap desk.
The wrist pad isn't detachable in the conventional sense - Despite the fact that I'm sure you could pull it off if you really wanted to. br>I'm not a fan of wrist pads and was hesitant to purchase because of this - When I use my computer, however, I've discovered that my wrist rests comfortably. br>I hope that this information is useful.

It's the perfect size, with a soft wrist pad and a light weight. It's the right size for my 13-inch MacBook Air. With ease, you can use a mousepad. My iPhone will fit in the back slot, too.
This is by far the best; I'm thinking of getting another for the office because it's so cool. This is the best alternative I've found so far, and I've tried quite a few. My main competitor, the LapGear XL Laptop LapDesk, arrived recently as well. Sofia Sam has created a far superior device. Here are some of my favorite features. Unless you work at no angle at all, the wrist pad is essential for keeping the computer or mouse from sliding off into your lap. I wouldn't bother with any of these lap desks that don't have a wrist rest, if for no other reason than to keep my things on it. The wrist rest on the LapGear model is huge and sticks up high, and it's hard plastic with clothe over it, which is a problem. The wrist rest on this Sofia Sam model is a more standard size, soft, and nicely covered in soft cloth; it's just right for me. br>2) This is compatible with both my massive ThinkPad T560 and my 13-inch MacBook Pro. There isn't much space for a mouse in the former. There is enough space for a mouse in the latter. br>3) I'm not sure why or how, but the surface of the wood here (or vinyl-covered wood that looks good) does not allow my MacBook to slide. With everything else like this, my MacBook's rubber feet slip as if they weren't rubber at all. It, on the other hand, stays put on this surface, even when positioned at a sharp angle. That means I can use the wrist rest at whatever distance I want, rather than just as a necessary device to keep my belongings from sliding off the table. br>4) The lap padding is very comfortable, and unlike most others, it is not fricken hugely fat. It raises your computer on your lap, but only about 3 inches above your lap. That appears to be the perfect amount of information for it to be useful. br>5) It appears to be well-made.
My 17-inch laptop and mouse fit perfectly, and the unit is well-constructed and comfortable to use. It also looked good with my recliner, as you can see in the photo. I'm very pleased with the quality of this product and the packaging. delivery.
This appeared to be a good piece at first glance, but that was only the first impression! Its USB light was the source of the problem. It started blinking in the first installment, but it wasn't working properly. But, as time passed, it became less agitated, so I decided to roll with it. However, serious defection was discovered the day before yesterday. I detected a burnt odor and saw smoke billowing from the USB port. Because I use this item on my bed, it could literally burn my house down with the spark and smoke. With such a serious flaw, I am unable to recommend this item.
This is a nice lap desk that holds my 17" laptop and mouse well, though the mouse slips off with the slightest movement due to the smooth top. I'm returning it as a result. The REALLY BAD THING about it is that there's a $10 chargeback. Make certain that this is something you want. In the product description, they should state that.
