No, because foam board is coated with paper, it will warp, disintegrate, and possibly harm a fish. Styrofoam floats as well (due to the presence of air). What I recommend is corrugated plastic, which is black but has ribbing and will float if not filled with water, but you could always tape something to weight it down.
When I received a lot of my purchases, they were bowed. When used for a craft project and laid flat, it warped as well.

This is the ideal solution! So, I bought this to insulate certain areas of my basement, which is insane. It's foam, sandwiched between two hard pieces of cardboard, and it's incredibly easy to work with. It also works perfectly with a staplegun. A high-quality product with a plethora of applications! There are a lot of pieces in this box, so one box will last a long time!.
Although it may appear to be a little pricey, we found it to be a good value due to the high quality of the foam core. I've bought a lot of foam core over the years, and this one may be the best in terms of overall quality and value. As others have stated, it arrived in such good condition that there were no dents or scratches. The paper is of high quality and is very sturdy and dense.

The corners of the product were dented when it arrived. Double cardboard packaging is clearly stated in the product description to protect the product's corners. This is not true. So, in order to save the project for which this was made, I'll have to cut a half inch off the bottom. Then, on all ten boards, take a quarter-inch off the sides.
I expected the edges to be black, but I hoped a white core would not be exposed after I cut some to a different size. Because it's black all the way through, it's a great choice. The box that it comes in is probably even better. It has tabs to keep it closed and reusable, and it's a great way to store extras I don't use and keep things organized and protected when placed on a shelf.
I usually order acid-free mat board from an online art supply company. I wanted to keep buying from the other source because of previous relationships, but this product purchased through Amazon was just as good for half the price. Money, on the other hand, is a precious commodity.

Despite the fact that the first order arrived in a better package, the second order arrived in a box with some folded brown paper and no bubble wrap or air pockets.
