YES, THAT IS A GREAT QUESTION. A FEW BETTER BOARD USERS HAVE STATED THAT THEY WOULD LIKE SOME EXTRA PADDING. THEY HAVE DONE JUST THAT BY PLACING ADDITIONAL BATTING. IT SEEMS TO WORK EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. THANK YOU FOR INQUIRING ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS AND FOR MAKING A PURCHASE.
The Cutting Mat does not come with the kit. It does, however, come with an ironing pad!
Without a cover, the BetterBoard cannot be ironed on. Fortunately, the package includes an ironing cover that fits perfectly!
The BetterBoard fits on top of your standard ironing board and can be adjusted to fit the height of your current ironing board.

It's only been a few weeks since the baby was born. I'm a quilter, so I have a lot of pressing to do. I've only had this ironing board for a few weeks, and the laminated surface is separating and rising up in the middle.
It's essentially a piece of MDF board with padding stapled to it. Ironing boards struggle to keep it upright because it's so heavy. I'd save my money and get a nicer one instead.
There is an issue with the sizing. My ironing board will only fit over ironing boards that are less than 15'' in diameter (not 16, as claimed). So, what is the issue? My current ironing board is very unstable, so I bought a new one that was supposed to be 15'' wide but ended up being 15 1/2'' wide. It is excessively large - The overlay does not go over the top of the top. What should I do with my brand-new ironing board now?br>br>Edit: I reluctantly returned the new, more stable ironing board and will continue to use this overlay on my old, wobbly ironing board for the time being. At the very least, it is appropriate. The board itself is fine, and it has proven to be extremely useful in my fabric cutting. Because I was working on the floor, I didn't have any more back pain. Because the board (the wobbly ironing board, which isn't ideal) is a little cumbersome to put on and take off, I'm leaving it on for now. Finally, I'd like to point out that: Water spray gets past the provided protective cover, making me concerned that the board will become wet. damaged. I'll have to find a water-resistant suit. a barrier of proof; I'm just wiping after ironing for the time being.
I was considering this because I needed a larger surface to press quilt projects on. It turned out to be a good purchase. This board can also be used to press items that require a larger surface area than a standard ironing board. It's well-made and a little heavy to set up, but it's well worth the effort; there are simple instructions for setting it up, but read them carefully because the locks on each side of the board, as well as the ones for storing it, are crucial. When pressing, there is no movement of the board. It's a nice cover that fits well.
You'll want to start over with a fresh pad. I regret purchasing this, but it will be useful at quilting retreats where I will be able to use a larger board, and it is foldable. It's a plus if you have the ability to do it. As a result, I decided to buy it. (I already own a "home-based" business. ) "I made" a 24 x 60 board topper, but I wanted something that would be easy to transport to retreats. )br>br>IT IS EXTREMELY HEAVY! I'm old, so unless you have a younger person who can assist you (which I do), I wouldn't recommend it. However, I recommend a 22" wide surface, which has the following = v. I've made a new pad for it that will be more effective. It's possible that you should do so as well. a piece of cheap batting and a muslin-wrapped muslin-wrapped muslin-wrapped musl Too thin, just like the top. br>br>THE IDEA IS AMAZING, and I'm sure it'll come in handy in my life (with a little help, of course. ) But it's WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what it is. My husband (the fixer,) thought so as well, but admitted that with the cost of materials, (and Sullivans wanting to make a profit and pay for labor,) it approached the 75% I recommend that you consider the benefits and drawbacks of this option for your life.
This was purchased with a gift card I received for my birthday. Not only is this product made in the United States, but I'm also supporting a local Downers Grove business. It's very well made, and I like how it's hinged to fold closed and lock, as well as having a carrying handle. It doesn't get much better than that; it fits perfectly over my ironing board. It has a light padding and a cover. I might add another layer of padding as a personal preference, but it's fine without it.
Screws came out and were not lined up right out of the box, causing locking clasps to be misaligned and broken.
I'm a quilter, so I spent a lot of time looking at this item before deciding to buy it. I'm so happy I did. Not only does it provide me with a larger ironing surface, but I now keep it near my sewing machine on my left and use it to lay my quilt on while I quilt, allowing me to keep it off my lap and stretched out, which makes quilting much easier. I'm thinking about getting another one.
