These (or something similar) are installed beneath one of our kitchen cabinets in our new house. The adapter appears to have been removed, and the unit is now wired directly into what appears to be a house current wire. Is this possible, and if so, will the new unit allow me to do the same?
It is dependent on the setup. You can hard wire RV lighting, or install a magnetic switch on a cabinet door to turn lights on when the door is opened.
These are on three of my cabinet tops. The one that had been used the most, for at least 12 hours a day for the past three years, has recently stopped working.

This product was incredibly simple to set up, thanks to the pre-applied tape, and it offered a plethora of customization options. Two strings, two strings, two strings, four strings, four strings, four strings, four BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BE It only took me 5 minutes to put it under my den's shelves! Remember to purchase a dimmer with a click off position so that you only have to mount the dimmer and not the on/off switch on the string to be accessible. The warm color appeals to me, and the dimmer's range of brightness, from romantic to worklight, is impressive. For me, this is the ideal solution. I would strongly suggest it.
When the third bullet reads "Security:" it's clear that this isn't a marketing major in the United States. UL-listed adapter with a DC12V output voltage that is relatively safe to use. " is written on the box It makes me want to buy even more. br>br>However, it appears to be well-built and installed without incident (see attached PIC). The color of the LEDs was a major consideration, and they are "Warm White. " I strung one and two-thirds sets together to cover the length of the Kitchen with one power supply, and I'm pleased to report that the continuous run produced no shadows. br>br>I'm going to order a second set to cover the entire opposite wall. br>br>It's critical that the surface be clean because the adhesive isn't particularly special, and you'll be peeling back the tape to expose it. Mine won't be an issue because they'll be pointing up at the ceiling from the tops of my cabinets, providing a nice indirect lighting effect.
It's super simple and looks great.
My only complaint is the condition of the product box when it arrived (dented and water damaged), though the product itself does not appear to be harmed. br>br>The other issue is that there is no 90-degree connector, so you'll have to improvise if your cabinets are arranged in a corner like mine. It's odd that there's a 180-degree connector for U-turning the lights, but no 90-degree connector for simply turning them where you want them to go.
These were purchased in two sets. They have a significant impact!br> "Where is the light coming from?" I am frequently asked, despite my low profile and lack of visibility. " From visitors. It wasn't even necessary to use all of the strands. I wasn't sure if I could cut it down to size, but I did, and it worked just fine. It's complete with all of the necessary connectors. a lot more than you'll ever need Because it is so bright, I will be purchasing a dimmer switch to adjust it. I had no idea such high-quality under-cabinet lighting could be so inexpensive and simple to install.
Quick delivery of the product. As expected, it functions properly. The only problem was that the adhesive was terrible. It wouldn't stick even after I prepped the surface. For my application, I went with black duct tape. In the coming weeks, I'll attempt to write a follow-up review on how it works. Right now, it provides just the right amount of light.
- May 2019 update – br>It's still going strong. It looks fantastic. It's extremely bright. There are no issues.
My mind was completely changed after seeing these strip lights. They come on a roll in a single strip, with connectors every 18" or so and plenty of accessories for whatever configuration you require. I bought them to put under two kitchen cabinets for extra lighting, and I expected to need at least two strips per cabinet, but these things are so bright and the warm white color is perfect that I'm going to buy extra power cords and store the two extras somewhere else. They'd also work well in a camper.
These were used as under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen. It's fantastic! I would strongly suggest it. The photos in the attachment show the effect of turning on and off the lights.
