How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
This model is only available in HARDWIRED mode; there is no plug-in option.
Color accuracy is provided by CRI 90, and the 1" thickness allows it to be hidden perfectly under the cabinet.
Multiple knockouts allow for a more efficient hardwire installation.
LED light sources are more cost-effective than halogen and incandescent light sources, allowing you to save more money.
Most wall dimmer switches can be used to dim the light. GE 18023, Lutron Diva DVCL-153P, Lutron Diva DV-600P, and Lutron Skylark SLV-600P dimmers were all found to be compatible.

Questions & Answers

Is there a wire punout near the center of the back?

There are three knockouts on each side and three on the back, one near each end and one in the center, if my memory serves me correctly. (The 12" units were purchased by me.)

Is it possible to wire three of these together and control them with a wall light switch?

Yes, you are capable of doing so.

How big are the knockouts going to be?

A 3/8" romex connector can be used in the knock out hole.

Is it possible to combine an LED fixture with two fluorescent fixtures in a circuit? The same on/off switch would be used to control all three. ?

It should be fine if it's a standard wall switch, but if it's a dimmer switch, compatibility between two different brands and models may be an issue.

Use my misfortune to your advantage
3/5

Other lights should be purchased. I have a lot of tool, electronics, and under cabinet lighting experience. Installing these is a NIGHTMARE. Instead, pay a visit to KIWI Lights. br>br>The cable clamps will not allow even a single piece of Romex 14-inch cable to pass through. You'll need 3/4" heat shrink tubing and a lot of fiddling if you want to make two, let alone two. Installing takes some time. I tried these fixtures because the allure of using existing wires drew me in, but I will never buy them again. br>br>Because the mounting screws did not fit, I had to purchase four new ones. Screws with a 5" panhead. I was wasting time with my calipers and calculating which screws would work. br>br>It just irritates me when a manufacturer so blatantly misrepresents their product that when you do your homework and buy a product that you are confident is correct, you receive it and discover that you are stuck with a royal pain of a product to install because of their dishonesty. Please take note of my misfortune and apply what you've learned to your own situation.

It's quite effective
4/5

For two reasons, I gave it four stars (rather than five). First, . You must be well-versed in your field - Second, the 'extras' (screws, wire nuts, etc. ) come INSIDE the light, and nothing tells you this - the instructions are insufficient for the novice. To get to these important parts, you'll need to disassemble the unit (well, two screws). And, just so you know, working behind the counter is ALWAYS challenging - With limited vision, you are upside down and backwards. This light, however, was everything I had hoped for once it was installed.

It was a real pain to set up
3/5

This unit has a number of design flaws that make installation extremely difficult. br>For starters, there is no wire holder assembly under the hood to tuck in and hold the wires while the metal plate covering them is installed. Remember, you're working upside down in a cramped space (at least, that was the case with our installation). Worse, the two screws that hold this plate in place are incredibly small and oddly shaped, so if you drop and lose them, you'll be in serious trouble. Which you will, because you are working upside down and the wires are pushing out on the plate as you try to hold it in place, screw in the tiny screw, and keep the wires from popping out--all while working upside down-- It will be impossible to locate or replace them at the hardware store. br>The company provides plastic covers for the mounting screw hole, but they do not stay in place or cannot be pushed in. br>Apart from that, it's fine.

Installing it was a breeze, and it was ready to use right away
5/5

I chose this fixture over a few others because it appeared to be the simplest to install and was worth the extra money. Other than that, I'm guessing the LED quality is comparable. br>br>I replaced a switch that had failed on an undercabinet fluorescent fixture. I knew the wiring came out in the middle of the back because it was flush against the wall. There are knockouts all over this LED fixture, including in the center of the back, which I knew I needed. There's also enough space for the wiring. Other similar fixtures appear to be missing both of these features. br>br>You can see how everything looks and works by watching the user video for this product. That user used a pigtail before mounting, so he had it a little easier, but I still found it useful. br>br>To reduce the amount of time I spent working upside down, I did the following:

- Removed the plate to gain access to the wires and wire nuts; this can be left open because the wiring to the switch prevents it from moving too far. Although the screws are small and delicate, I had no trouble carefully removing them without damaging them.

- I needed to get rid of the knockout.

- I began inserting the mounting screws into their respective holes. The ability to screw in multiple threads before the screw emerges from the top is a nice feature. as a result, they'll stay put even if the fixture is turned upside down. The mounting screws aren't very strong, but that probably made them easier to screw into the cabinet's base by hand, which I was able to do. The fixture is very light, so I don't think it'll fall out. If you think you'll need pilot holes, put the fixture in place first and mark/drill your pilot holes before you start screwing.

- Then I held the fixture up to the installation location, fed the wires from the wall through the knockout, and held the fixture in place with one hand while manually screwing the mounting screws into the cabinet above. Make sure you don't strip them of their clothing. It went well, but I was prepared to back up and drill pilot holes if it appeared that I would strip the screw head before properly setting the screws.

- I used the supplied wire nuts to connect the three wires from the wall to the fixture once the fixture was in place and the cover was hanging open.

- Because the wires from the wall were solid and thus stiff, it wasn't too difficult to get them to stay in place before replacing the cover. The back of the fixture slots into the cover, allowing you to put the back in place and finish stuffing the wires before swinging the cover into place.

- I was able to start the screws to secure the cover with my fingers while holding the cover plate in place with one hand - They're long enough to start a couple of turns and stay put without difficulty. Then I used a screwdriver to tighten it (carefully). If necessary, have someone hold the cover in place (or tape it in place) while you work on the screws with both hands. br>br>I took my time with this, but it wasn't too difficult. I could probably do more in a matter of minutes now that I'm more familiar with the fixtures and the procedure. br>br>The light (daylight version) is a pleasant medium-toned light. dazzling white - This is exactly what we needed. I don't think a dimmer is necessary. It's also quick and simple to use. Some of my other LED fixtures aren't compatible with this platform. br>br>Overall, I'm satisfied. The durability of the product will be determined over time. I've been disappointed by the rapid failure of several high-priced LED bulbs - I'm hoping the technology has improved since then.

Should have read the questions before answering I'm not a contractor, an electrician with a license, or an Electrical Engineer with a degree
3/5

As a result, I was "surprised" to discover that these lights do not come with a power cord. Contractors may be aware of this. I didn't. The fact that you couldn't plug these in was not mentioned in the Amazon description. So, in order to follow the extremely complex assembly instructions, I had to order an additional "pig" cord for each light. Hey - I simply wanted some lights in my wife's sewing room to help her see more clearly. This has evolved into a multi-faceted situation. multi-day, swearing, and many other things I'm still not finished with my ordering experience. On the front side, near the light switch, there are two tiny screws to be cautious of. They're made of flimsy soft metal, so your Phillips-head screwdriver won't work with them. The head of the screwdriver will immediately bore out. Fortunately, I was able to pry one out, allowing me to remove the required hardware package from inside the light by prying up one end of the covering. Otherwise, I would have had no choice but to discard the unit. Don't buy these things if you're not willing to put in the time and money to put them together. If you're a pro, you're probably laughing at me because I don't have the skills or the desire to wire up a light that I thought I'd be able to plug in right away. Installation is a pain, as another reviewer correctly pointed out. Assembling is also difficult.
