Questions & Answers

How do you figure out how long an under-cabinet strip light should be?

Some kitchen cabinets have a recess beneath them, with the sides extending a half-inch or more below the cabinet's underside. In some cabinets, the cabinet's bottom is flush with the cabinet's sides. If there is only one door on the cabinet, the standard size is 12 inches. Because kitchen cabinets are frequently custom built, you'll need to measure the flat space between the cabinet(s) you want to light from side to side. Purchase the light(s) that correspond to the cabinet(s) dimensions. A 12 inch light, for example, will fit beneath a cabinet with an underside measurement of 12 inches between the sides. If the distance between the two points is between 36 and 47 inches, a 36-inch fixture is probably the best option.

Is it true that these fixtures are direct wired? Meaning: 2 pigtails if you remove the cover and drop the unit. ?

They are, without a doubt, direct-wire fixtures.

Is it true that these lights are low-voltage?

Low voltage typically necessitates the use of a "transformer" to limit the "voltage" that passes through the wire to the light. These are wired directly from your breaker box to a standard 110 volt USA outlet. Because they are LEDs, they consume very little energy. They're also just as bright as, if not brighter than, the old fluorescent under-cabinet lights.

Is it possible to connect these?

Thank you for contacting us, Tessa. No, our Honeywell LED Under Cabinet Fixture (45369) does not have a linkable feature. Under cabinet LED light fixture with three color options and minimal wiring
3/5

If you have a 12-volt system, this won't be a simple installation. In your home, there are three types of wiring. The majority of the room was taken into consideration when designing the lighting. inside the box where the wires are connected to your wiring- It would have been preferable to design a slightly larger fixture with more space on the right, rather than attempting to adjust the wiring inside with limited space. Only for this reason did I deduct two stars. After installing three of them in my kitchen, that is the only drawback I can think of. The lights have a lot of cool features and come with three different light settings: 2700K, 4000K, and 5000K are the three different color temperatures. Keeping that in mind, let's get started. Turn off the circuit breaker first, then read the instructions. If you're installing these under cabinet light fixtures in a brand new home, you can use the knockouts on the back of the unit. Simply remove the round hole, install the strain relief, and plug the hole with your new 12-volt battery. 3 or 14- 3 Finish wiring the unit after passing the wires through the hole. In my case, I live in a well-established home that was constructed approximately 25 years ago. So, using a 1/2-inch drill bit, I drilled a hole that perfectly matched the original wire from my old fluorescent fixtures. To bring the wire into the back of the fixture, I filed down the edges of the hole and then attached the strain relief. It was easier for me to install these by laying down on the counter. The fixtures come with a limited lifetime warranty and three color ranges that you can change at any time using a switch on the fixture's opposite end, opposite the on/off switch. If you have an established home with the wiring from the old fixtures already in place, plan on spending about 60 minutes per fixture to install, drill, and customize the fit of these lights.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION CAN BE FOUND HERE
3/5

Once installed, the light itself appears to be fantastic. Dimmable with a standard LED compatible dimmer, such as the Lutron TGCL-L, bright, color options 153PH- The city of Los Angeles is deafeningly silent. br>br>However, as many others have pointed out, the installation is a real pain because there's so little space inside the chassis. This is especially problematic if the knock out is on the left side of the light and you're using a 24" or smaller light, as that's where the electronics box is located. br>br>Here are some pointers gleaned from asking a lot of questions and attempting to install two 24" and one 36" light using existing hard wire. br>br>* Do not attempt to run wires over the top of the electronics box inside the light. They'll be pinched, preventing the light from closing. br>* Make the connectors lay flat by orienting them. br>* Arrange the wire connectors so that they are not side by side. if at all possible, on the positive side br>* To keep the wires and connectors in place, use electrical tape. It makes everything go more smoothly. br>* It's difficult to snap the LED portion of the light back into the frame because you're applying a lot of pressure in the same direction that the light's frame slides off the keyhole mounting screws. To keep the light from slipping off the mounting screws, place a small block of wood between it and the wall. br>* When drilling your own knock out, be careful not to drill too close to the frame's bottom edge. The LED light must rest there, and it has a slightly raised lip that will catch on the wire nut and prevent you from snapping everything back together. If this happens, all you have to do is cut the lip where the nut is.

This is an excellent way to replace undercabinet light fixtures that have failed
5/5

I had four sections of florescent under cabinet lights with lamps or ballasts that had failed, leaving more tubes unlit than those that were still operational. Cabinets and lights are divided into three sections, with sink and stove gaps in between. For a long time, I had been looking for an LED solution, but all I could find were units that plugged in, required a box and power supply, or were prohibitively expensive, and most of the typical solutions would require wiring over the gaps due to the gaps. I needed a direct-wired solution so that I could remove the old fixtures and replace them with LED fixtures. These were both inexpensive and simple to set up. For power entry, there are knockouts on both ends and three on the back side, one in the middle and one near each end. A clamp for entering the room is included. Managing the wires in the fixture was a source of frustration for me, but it was easily solved with some tape. Two switches are included with these lights: one for power on/off and the other for color temperature selection. These lights can also be dimmed using an LED dimmer instead of a wall switch. Another thing to consider when it comes to affordability: Honeywell also makes smaller units with factory-set color temperatures that are less expensive; both Honeywell options are less expensive than other direct-wired options.

A fantastic product that solved a lighting issue
5/5

It took three tries, but I finally found the right items! For my application, these Honeywell Direct Wire lights were ideal. Jasco Products' Melissa Bokesch finally stepped in to help solve the problem of LED under cabinet lighting controlled by a wall switch. a 120V dimmer switch that is mounted on the wall I didn't realize that certain lights only work with a certain number of dimmer switches, so if you need assistance with your lighting, I recommend contacting Jasco Products in Oklahoma and asking for Customer Service Supervisor Melissa Bokesch. She went above and beyond to ensure that our remodel project was finished on time and that the lights and dimmers worked together seamlessly - This was not the case in the previous two installations. You'll need a lot of romex wire, utility boxes, wire tie downs, and cable ties, as well as a full day or an afternoon and a lot of patience. You'll also need to order more romex wire cinch pieces to keep the connecting wire steady in the light fixture if you're linking these lights together, as each light only comes with one. You'll need two for each light once they've been connected.
