Yes, but only in a limited sense. When you try to turn them off after you've turned off the motion sensor, it simply turns it back on. If you lose power or use a switch/outlet to control power to the plug, the results will be the same. The motion sensor is used by default. As a result, you can't use it as an on/off switch, which is something I had hoped to be able to do when I purchased these.
No, the motion sensor's timer is set to a specific time and is only a few minutes long. Although this feature is useful, I usually leave it on all night.
In fact, any USB power bank can be used to power these. On a cheapo1900 mAh power bank, the constant run time was 1 hour on high and 2 hours on low. The motion sensor is currently being used to test for time span. When boondocking, use in a 5th wheel camper so the wife doesn't fall down the steps when she gets up in the middle of the night. On the motion sensor, I anticipate getting several nights of use.
We currently have only one motion sensor light.

Overall, I'm happy with these because the end result is fantastic. I was perplexed by the fact that the description says there are 6 LED strips and 5 connecting wires, but the marketing materials (including the length) and even user photos make it appear that the lighting is continuous. Here's the deal: according to the specifications, you can't cut or alter the length in any way; you're basically stuck with it as is, with a 15cm gap between each strip. You can loop that connecting wire around to avoid the gap, but you'll be left with a wire loop. On the plus side, unless you're looking for it, you won't notice the gap. I installed under kitchen cabinets and looped it around a portion of the cupboards, and the end result is fantastic once again. Another big plus is that Govee appears to have their act together when it comes to overall package quality; the controller component looks and feels high quality, whereas others I've seen look janky and cheap. The motion sensor works fine, but as others have mentioned, it turns off quickly, and unless you're really moving in front of it and have it set up correctly, it will turn off. I'd also suggest making it so that you can simply turn it on and off. You can simply long-distance-distance-distance-di It'd be better to just be able to set a mode so it's either on/off or sensor, rather than having to press to turn it on indefinitely. Overall, it's a good product, but consider the length you require; it seemed like an obvious thing to me that would be flexible, but it isn't in this case; for example, if you wanted it to go across the back of a desk, you'd have far too much and gaps; however, if it suits your size situation, it will work well!.
The most vibrant setting appeals to me. The motion sensor is very effective. When I chop things, I can now see what I'm doing! br>I need to stock up on more for the opposite side of my kitchen!.
Six settings, ranging from dim to full brightness, provide the desired ambient lighting. It appears to be well-made and to function as expected - apart from one flaw in the design: When the device's power is turned off, the motion sensor setting is reset, which earns it a one-star penalty. br>br>I used a timer to set these up. In the evening, switch on a controlled outlet. They shut down 15 seconds later. I had expected to be able to disable motion sensor control because I didn't want it. Govee's helpful customer service representatives quickly informed me that this was not the case. br>br>However, I discovered a way to permanently disable the motion sensor, allowing the lights to be turned on/off and the dimmer control to function (the blue light around the sensor continues to illuminate even though the sensor is no longer connected). br>br>In the photos, I used the tip of a very small flat screwdriver to pry the solder off a previously soldered connector on the circuit board. These two pins will be soldered together in a new controller. Simply pry the white controller's back cover off (I separated the back panel with a small flat screwdriver; It snaps apart with relative ease. Then, using a scraper, remove the solder from the soldered connector shown in the photo (the removed piece of solder is the speck shown at the right edge of the first photo). Replace the cover and put it back in place. The on/off and dimmer switches are still operational, but motion sensing is disabled. br>br>Be aware that attempting this may result in the unit being damaged or destroyed (and thus voiding the warranty). However, given the device's low price, I didn't mind. br>br>I purchased two of these and modified both of them. For me, they're ideal. The motion detector works perfectly. At maximum brightness, the lights are blindingly bright. 100% would recommend it!.
These are fantastic! Except for one thing, they're perfect. I wish the mission detection would remain active for a longer period of time. However, they are the only ones I've come across that provide a good motion sensor. It simply needs to be left on for a longer period of time. The lighting is bright and warm. Make the counter stand out by using bright colors. And because my cabinets have no lip or overhang, it was critical that they not be visible. They are completely flat when laid out. This is the second time I've done something like this! I would strongly suggest it.
There is no way to change the duration. I bought three of these and discovered that the auto off time cannot be changed. My application requires more than 15 seconds.
I bought three of these, had them all installed under the cabinets, and was planning on using a smart outlet to set them on a timer. The strings, it turns out, revert to their motion detection mode every time the power is cycled off, and they don't remember the settings you've selected. Perhaps I had set my expectations too high. Motion detection mode is simply annoying; it turns them on at the slightest movement, but they only stay on for a few seconds before turning off; they flash on and off constantly.
The motion sensor is always accurate, and the lights came with everything I needed to get them up and running right away. It was very simple to set up. The lights have three different brightness levels, with the brightest providing just enough light to illuminate my entire closet. Only the addition of a rechargeable battery would improve these lights. I don't have a plug in my closet, but I was able to get around this by plugging in the lights with a small power bank because they have a USB cord.
