Questions & Answers

Is the tray able to be locked into place?

The tray comes in and out, not the other way around. When it's not in use, slide it in, and when it's time to use it, slide it out. When you slide it to the desired position, it stays put nicely.

Is it possible to mount this at an angle to fit a corner desk?

Hello, and thank you for your interest! No, this mount is only meant to be used on a desk with a straight edge. If you have any additional questions, please contact us. We are happy to assist you at any time. Thank you, VIVO Customer Support,br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>VIVO Customer

How much space under the desk is required for the screwdriver? what's the deal with the clamp? I can only do one thing at a time. 3/4 inch in front of a piece of wood ?

I'm not sure what you're asking, but the thickness of my desk edge is 1. The bracket with the screw clamp is 5" long, and the bracket with the screw clamp is 3. 5" from the desk edge's bottom.

My keyboard is a Microsoft natural ergonomic keybord with a depth of 2 1/2". Is this keyboard going to fit?

No, it isn't going to fit. The MS Natural 3000 is what I have. I just received my VIVO tray, and even with the tray fully extended, there isn't enough clearance. My desktop, on the other hand, is only about 1. I'm blaming my desk more than the drawer for the lack of space for my standard keyboard, but I'll be returning for a refund.

It's a good design, but there's a minor flaw in it   The keyboard tray is perfect for me
4/5

The furniture is of excellent quality and is simple to put together. From unboxing to clamping on my desk, it took me only 15 minutes. You should have no trouble moving the tray in and out. Very easy to work with. The lack of a simple lock to lock the tray position is why I deducted one star. When I try to move it forward, it slides backward. However, I've discovered a simple way to keep it. It isn't perfect, but it serves its purpose admirably. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> After searching for a better and more attractive solution for locking the keyboard tray, I discovered the Vinyl Window Tilt Latch, which allows the keyboard tray to remain stationary while I type. I paid less than $6 for it. If you're still looking for an answer, you can give it a shot.

For a non-professional, this is quite impressive
3/5

a long-term solution After having shoulder surgery on both shoulders, typing with the keyboard on my desk at work has become somewhat uncomfortable, so I purchased this because it does not require drilling. There are advantages and disadvantages to everything: br>br>Advantagesbr>- It does not necessitate drilling.
- It has a very large surface area. It will fit a ten-key extended keyboard. There's enough room for a mouse/mousepad and a key number pad. It also has enough depth to accommodate a wrist pad in front of the keyboard. br>- It's well-made and heavier than I expected.
- Once I got it into the office, it was fairly simple to put together; it appears to have a lot of parts at first, but it goes together quickly and the directions are clear. It took me about 15 minutes to put it together and attach it to my desk, and I only used a screwdriver. a screwdriver, and an Allen wrench are included.
- It has a cord manager on the back side that also keeps your keyboard from falling off. br>br>Consbr>- This isn't something you can change. Other than moving it toward or away from you, there are no adjustments after it's been installed. It would be nice to be able to lower it even further, as it only lowers the keyboard about three to four inches below where it sits on top of the desk.
- It'd also be nice if there was a way for it to catch so that it didn't slowly creep forward and under the desk while you were using it. This isn't a major problem, but it does happen from time to time. Perhaps I'm just an overly enthusiastic typist. br>- If the platform isn't gradually creeping in, the keyboard most certainly is, because there's nothing to provide traction or resistance. As a result, I'm constantly adjusting my keyboard; I'm going to use double-sided foam tape or a cut piece of rug-like material to cover it. Try putting a gripper under the keyboard to see if it helps.
- Only straight edges are suitable for this technique. I was in desperate need of a keyboard tray that could accommodate an L-shaped keyboard. I could have bought a U-shaped desk with a 90-degree angle, but I would have had to drill it. This product would be more universal if the two clamping brackets on the desk could swivel. That is, of course, easier said than done, but that is just my opinion. br>br>While this meets most of my needs and is less expensive than others, the type that requires drilling would have been preferable. That is not something I believe my boss would appreciate. br>br>UPDATE after approximately three months of use:
- As a result, the creepy Over time, getting in and out of the tray becomes extremely inconvenient; they really should include some sort of lock-in mechanism. Place a mechanism or add resistance to the tray to prevent it from moving forward indefinitely.
- The rug gripper padding I put under the keyboard has helped a little, but only a little, and it looks sloppy. It would have been much better if the manufacturer had simply added some sort of permanent rubber matting to the hard surface.
- Because of these two factors, I'm lowering my rating from four to two stars. Bummer.

The tray is rendered useless by the tray's unadvertised AUTO CLOSE feature
3/5

The assembly could be made a little easier, and some of the work could be done for you (like the brackets). However, it wasn't too bad, and the metal was thick, and the tray was solid wood. The tray simply closes on its own, which is a problem for me. It is not going to remain open for long. It's difficult to type on a keyboard that keeps returning to the underside of the desk. There should be a locking mechanism in place. I shouldn't have to rig something worth this much money by shoving a wire-tie in the track to wedge it open like in the photo. Even so, you must be careful not to press down too hard, as it will continue to move if you type too quickly. It's a good tray, but if it doesn't stay open, it's useless.

It's well worth it, but only after you've measured and confirmed the fit
5/5

This is a very sturdy keyboard tray for under your desk. I'm an IT guy myself, and I think this is a great addition to my desk. This tray is not at all flimsy, and I really like the angled front edge. br>br>I'm giving this a five-star rating because it serves its purpose admirably and fits my desk perfectly. It has a slow sliding function, but I can tell it has a lot of power. I'm using it in conjunction with my Space Gray Apple keyboard, a 3m mousepad, and a wired mouse. Mouse that can be used wirelessly Please follow the instructions carefully; they were very easy to follow, and all you need is a phillips head screwdriver to complete the project. Because the pieces are heavy, take care when putting them together. If something goes wrong, I'll come back later; otherwise, have fun!.

Only if the screws are replaced is this a great product
4/5

Overall, I'm impressed by the level of stability. I was concerned about the up-and-down wobble, but it is well-controlled. It does occasionally slip backward when I'm using the keyboard and mouse at the same time and get lost in what I'm doing, such as when I'm playing games or something, but it has a locking mechanism that softly clicks into place when you pull it to the fully extended position, so it'll only slide back if you lean forward a little and pop it out of position—it won't slip back on its own. br>br>However, after a few months of use, I noticed that one of the screws connecting the keyboard tray rail to the clamp mechanism had popped out, and would continue to pop out even after I screwed it back down. I looked into it further and discovered that the tiny 6mm screws included are barely long enough to reach the slider's screw hole. You're only getting in touch with 1-percentage of the population. Because there are only two threads, it's very easy for the last couple threads to deform and render the screw connection useless. The solution is to purchase a pack of 8mm long M4 countersunk screws, which are simply longer versions of the ones that came with the kit. I used these to replace all four screws on the tray's side, and it's a lot more stable now. It's a bit of a blunder on the manufacturer's part to scrimp on 2mm of screw length at the expense of durability, but at the very least it's a $2 fix. br>br>The photo compares the included screw to the replacements, as well as how it appears after the replacements have been installed.
