Questions & Answers

Please tell me in millimeters how thick it is. ?

There are two layers of mat on the floor. There is a 5 millimeter difference. As you can see, I have not included the prongs sticking out from underneath the mat to grip the carpet when I measured the mat. There are 2 inches of space between the wheels of my desk chair. The mat that I am using does not have any indentations when I sit in a chair on it. I weigh almost 300 pounds. Some people have complained that they must move the mat at least once a week because it shifts from its As far as I know, this has never occurred to me. In addition to the size of your desk chair wheel, you should also consider the shape of your desk chair. With wider mats, indentions can be minimized as weight will be dispersed on the surface of the mat rather than settled. This mat has been a great purchase for me, and I would definitely recommend it. Amazing that I weigh so much and that it still stands up to that! I hope this was helpful.

When your chair wheels are used on this mat, do they slide?

They roll more than they slide. I owned three similar chair mats for plush carpeting previously made by ES Robbins, Staples, and Office Depot, and they were all inferior to the Floortex model. In contrast to my 3 previous mats, my chair does not dig or indent at all into the mat due to the 5 wheels. In terms of quality and thickness, the smooth side that faces upward is significantly better than the surface that faces down without being so slippery you could slip with socks on. It is truly one of the best chair mats I have ever used!

Is this book rolled up or flat when it arrives?

When shipped rolled up, the mat can be a very dangerous thing Everything erupts violently in less than a On my arm, you can see a cut, welt, and bruise! A flat box should be used to ship this. This is not a good use of funds.

Does this mat have a rigid or flexible surface?

Actually, it comes rolled up in a large circle, which makes it pliable in nature. When we removed it from the box, however, it suddenly snapped into a straight and stiff state and nearly knocked over my glasses. I like that it is not like a piece of steel plate, but it feels solid under my chair due to its rigidity. In reality, the mat is over my carpet, which makes me feel as if I'm rolling on a wooden floor.

The year ended one year ago
3/5

Despite the manufacturer's claims, I don't believe the product will last as long as claimed. This chair mat has been my favorite for a year. I have purchased it in August 2015, and after one year. . . When it has been used for 12 hours a day for 12 consecutive days, it is time to replace it. It started cracking about 3 months ago, at three points where the chair wheels spin around as the chair is moved. Around six weeks after the cracks appeared, some chunks began to come loose from one of the three crack Regardless of the manufacturer's requirements, the warranty replacement cost is $22 plus the cost of shipping if the mat needs to be inspected by the manufacturer. However, I have yet to decide whether it's worth it to pursue a replacement. The only option I see is to go back to using 7/16" plywood with maybe some peel and stick tiles for covering. The mat's description indicates that it is for plush pile carpets with a thickness of at least 1/2" thick, which mine is, but I am not sure the mat will stay in place for anything longer than that length of the grippers. Furthermore, mine rotated counterclockwise just like other people have noted about shifting Every three days, it needs to be adjusted clockwise This is the fourth day. It would be better if the gripper "spikes" were longer, as this may lessen shifting or prevent it altogether.

During the unpacking process, you may suffer an injury
3/5

The picture shows the difference. Shipping this mat flat is safer because it is extremely dangerous to unfurl. The age of my husband and me is 71 and 75, respectively. My glasses flew off my face as I was helping my husband unwrap it when it snapped open, hit me in the face, and hit me in the face again. The impact on my eye did not cause my glasses to break instead, my eyeball was not struck directly. The warning sheet had fallen to the ground after this incident had occurred. In it, too, there was evidence of it flowing from somewhere within There should have been a label on the BOX AND on the outside of the cellophane wrapping as well. An injury can be prevented by following the warning, but no specifics are given. Though the mat itself seems to be of high quality, it is shipped in a dangerous manner.

Claims of no cracking should be taken with a grain of salt
3/5

In February 2014, the device was purchased, and it began to crack in October 2015 (note In the description, it states that this product is guaranteed not to crack. cracked all the way from the top all the way to the bottom (i. This does not refer to surface cracks only. A single chair of this size has been sitting on it without abuse or other strange behavior. to be replaced because it is now a hazard, because the plastic is popping up from the cracks. I doubt I will take advantage of their warranty but I want to alert others to the fact that they cannot be entrusted with this kind of situation. The following update The 26th - From December to This year (The manufacturer pretended to allow returns but really just made me jump through multiple hoops despite sending photos of the cracking - even though I had sent them clear photos of the defect - but Amazon replaced the original - thank you!) It seems that they adhere to the following policy (I'm 190 pounds, so it's not me causing the problem. ) But now, approximately 18 months later, the replacement is now beginning to crack (I'm not to blame). As for its shorter stay at one spot, it won't stay there for more than a few hours before it needs to be moved again.

After 6 months, the carpet on the berber carpet was cracked
3/5

It was purchased in early April of this year, 2016 and already cracked when I received it. There is a mat on carpet that is made of berber. This was the best item on Amazon, so I was willing to pay a lot for it. A new update is available To make a warranty claim, we contacted Floortex. You also had to take pictures of the crack and fill out the form. I received an email from Floortex asking for a closeup photograph of the carpet and letting me know there would be a $30 freight charge if the warranty was honored. They said I thought $30 for the mat was excessive and it had more than likely been the raw cost. So far, they have not gotten back to me.

A chair mat as good as it gets! I used to replace the chairmat at my desk with a new one about every year for several years
5/5

There were a lot of bumps and valleys on the old one, which made rolling my chair around nearly It was rare that I bought the least expensive mat, but instead I always chose the chairmat that I thought was of good quality. Chairmats made of vinyl were all used. The work they did was It was sort of like- Still not feeling well, in fact, not feeling I had to think long and hard before purchasing this Floortex chairmat since it was about three times more expensive than vinyl. In getting the most out of it, I've now used it for about 60 days and can say it was worth every penny. I weigh 210 pounds and spend six hours a day in the gym. The average person works 8 hours per week. I work at this desk all day. This is the good part There is an overlay of rubber pad on the floor that is 3/4 inch thick. A quality carpet is on top of it. The chairmat so far does not seem to have a single valley or bump, and rolling around on it is exactly the same as rolling around on solid wood. Although I can't predict what a year of use will bring for this chairmat, based on my experience with vinyl chairmats over their same, initial use, I am just as convinced that a Floortex chairmat was a superior investment after a year or more. As well as being more comfortable (no valleys to sink into, no bumps to get around), it looks better as well (flat and ready to use). My guess is that it will cost me much less than replacing the vinyl chairmats I used to use frequently for the next few years. It has to be said I believe in you!.

I felt totally unsatisfied with it (and this is Amazon Prime)
3/5

In June 2019, I bought two of these Cleartex chair mats from Amazon Prime to use in the house we were building at the time. The house was not yet finished, so we moved in in July 2019 and put the mats on plush carpet, as that is what they were designed Several weeks after I bought my chair mat, it began cracking, with a 6-inch crack near the center. After I called Amazon, they told me there was only a one-day shipping offer The mats come with a 12-month warranty! Can I do it in one month? During the time between ordering and getting the mats, I explained above, it took about a month for my wife's to arrive and while she seems happy with hers, my mat failed to hold up until the water got hot. The Amazon representative told me in light of these facts that he would mail me the materials for returning the mat even though I was outside the one-year warranty, he agreed to send the materials immediately. The month of November This warranty applies to all our products. There was no delivery of those materials. The crack on the mat snapped loudly when my chair rolled over it or near it. I used it for the time being, but I stopped using it shortly after. After letting it go, I planned to purchase a mat somewhere else, but today a second crack appeared just inches from the first one, so I decided to do my best to write a review on Amazon because this does not agree with Amazon's normal pattern and is not acceptable. The experience I had with Amazon Prime is abysmal, and my wife and I have separate memberships. We make hundreds of purchases, which are satisfying except for this.
