Since the beginning of the pandemic, I've been working from home, so this is something I use on a regular basis. I really like how this mat was shipped flat, which is unusual for mats. br>br>For a few weeks, this mat was perfect, but then the edges started to bend in. It's now so warped that trying to roll over it causes my chair to become stuck, and several family members have stubbed their toes on the curled mat's end. When I got it, it appeared to be a winner. br>br> but quickly reversed course I was hoping I wouldn't have to use one of the more expensive glass mats, but you get what you pay for once again.
This mat was purchased for my personal use. It's sitting on a thin but soft rug. The front and back edges of this mat slightly lift or curl up from the carpet or rug, creating a tripping hazard. It's not made of the same clear plastic (or whatever) material as the mats in my office, and I've never seen the mats in my office do anything other than lie flat on the floor. This mat, for some reason, does not do so. For a few months, everything was fine, but then it began to curl. I try to roll it up in the opposite direction of how it's curling, but it only works for a short time. Soon after, the rug's edges begin to lift up again. This product isn't for me; there are probably better options available.
I'd gotten this mat folded in the hopes of having less trouble getting it to lie flat than I would with a rolled-up mat. up one. And it's possible that's correct. However, even after a lot of use, it still curls up. With the help of a mountain of college textbooks, I had laid this flat at room temperature for a couple of days and used a hair dryer to touch up problem areas (corners and edges, middle fold) before using it. However, over the last two months, it has been curling more and more. My office chair wheels might get caught in the lift if I'm not careful. It does have scratches from repeated motions, but they aren't bright and aren't noticeable from afar, so I don't mind. It's still working for me so far - I'm just hoping it doesn't go up any higher.
The floor mat was just like it said it would be. The fact that it was delivered flat was a huge plus. When my husband eats, he has trouble moving his chair close to the table because he is disabled. The chair is now gliding across the floor. The ideal answer.
This is what I use in my living room under my desk and office chair. I'm about 220 pounds, and the chair glides smoothly and hasn't dented the plastic mat. It comes folded in half, which I was afraid of at first, but when you unpack it, simply fold it backwards and lay it down on the carpet to begin using it. This is something I would recommend to anyone, and because it folds up, it is probably best for temporary use.
I wasn't sure if this was going to be what I expected. It turned out to be a better choice! It's a good size, and it's not flimsy in the least. It's something I'm glad I purchased. I'm thinking about getting another for my husband's office.
It's starting to show signs of wear in the areas where I use it the most, but it's not cracking and is still holding up well and protecting my new carpet. Because it's a similar color to my carpet, I don't mind the opacity.
This was the size that I required, so I chose it. It's silky smooth and has a good grip on the carpet. This has caused me no problems. It is shipped flat, which is an excellent method of delivery. I would suggest it.
